  1. Neil Shipperley. I went to a Wimbledon game in the late 90's when they were at home to Nottingham Forest. I wondered where the hard men were in the ground and was amazed that tbe fans were very nice respectable posh folk. I shouted out "hey, shipperley, you ponce!" As he jockied for a ball that went out of play. He looked up at me, the posh ponces groaned at me, and he had tbe audacity to go on and score for Forest as they won 1-3. A last minute ticket offer brought me there when i was at uni.
  2. It is clear that we need to do far better, but the players that we have in certain positions are sub standard. Coutinho, a decent player, wants to leave. He is likely less than impressed with our ambition, in addition to being attracted to life in Spain.Klopp said towards the end of last season, that he could not say to the players, get us to tbe CL and get replaced. When he says that there a few players tbat could improve us, he is of course saying what he must say. He has stated what we all know about Lovren, albeit with a positive spin here. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/klopp-acknowledges-lovren-contract-mixed-12959828 Klopp acknowledges Lovren contract will get mixed reaction from supporters The Reds boss is convinced that the Croatian centre-back will repay the club’s faith after penning a four-year deal worth around £100,000 per week. “I am really happy about this,” Klopp said. “In a situation like this I know how football supporters think. If you had asked them after the Dortmund game they would have said: ‘Give him a 20-year contract.’ “When you see the Crystal Palace game they think: ‘Can we find another team who could have him?’ The truth is in between. “I don’t know a lot about it but I heard he had a difficult start at Liverpool but he has really settled so that’s really good. He is physically strong, quick and a good footballer. Sometimes decision making could be better but no-one out there – and we watch a lot – is perfect. “We really think he can help us a lot and we can help him in these few decisive parts of his game and that is what we want to do. I am so happy about the news.” Klopp stated that the owners will make the call on selling Coutinho with an analogy after the Watford game. The owners set the scene here, set budgets and targets, and recruit the likes of Edwards and Moore to make the football club work. And of course, running around after having spent £75m on VVD is a massive leap for me. I dont believe it will happen. Probity requires that we cannot make a bid, when one is required. If we did sign him for £75m, we would have sold Coutinho and we would have a positive net spend. That would be my vision of the future. Klopp is a professional and is working with the tools he has, in the context in which he has them. FSG.

  4. Sakho aside, I think that Klopp is too matey with the players. Of course, he believes in his coaching, but he speaks of developing players in a kind of father like way. Thats just an impression of course and i think he is great. It might be that he does better with a DOF?
  5. Brilliant humour on show here, i cant believe ive been looking at this and laughing out loud! I would sell him if we can buy a couple of others . Lemar, Mahrez, keita, deli ali, agree a sale for £120M and do what is necessary as we play the old "he aint for sale" line. I dont want Phil here fucking up Klopps team spirit and making him look the cunt as he gives him a thumbs up etc with a sad little pout. Look to the future. I do blame the lack of ambition shown by the club for this. Utter wank.

  7. The level on here has gone up a few notches! I love Jurgens personality and i think that he has improved us. I do think that his style is flawed at times when managing games tactically, attack attack attack 1-0 up at home to a top side, end to end in the dying minutes when we should let discretion be the better part of valour. The new Wenger comment was interesting. I hadn't thought of that tbh, but there may be something in that. The new quote is a worry. I wouldn't play Milly in central midfield and he only acknowledges Robertson's offensive quality. Im not sure what he means by Moreno being 100% back?? The rev is right, Klopp must put a positive spin on things, ngogswilly is also right, going forward with what we have equates to inevitable failure. I hope that 3 stacks is right, insofar as we might have an unknown plan B over the 3 main targets that we know of. I hope that Klopp has a number of options that he feels can take us forward. Not Rafa like squad fillers that we can't flush in 18 months, genuine quality that improve us in slightly different ways to Keita and VVD or as near as possible. Gorezka and Koulibaly?
  8. I know its mad, but it happened and i thought that putting it out there would circumvent any chance of it happening!
  9. I had a moment last night, pure FSG panic set in. I had this thought; surely they wouldnt sell Coutinho and bring me AOC, 'fully fit and raring to go' and the ECHO understands that Klopp would not sanction an increased bid for Keita and is baffled by links to (anyone better and less injury prone than aoc). Im paranoid arn't I ?
  10. Man U will be serious title contenders. Mourinho has shaped up a tall physical squad that is much more akin to his philosophy. I wish we learned to control the tempo a bit more like they do. Its attack attack attack for us, even 1-0 up at home against top sides going into the last few minutes. Man city will be great. Bernardo Silva will be great with Sane and G Jesus with Aguerro back up. They have spent silly money on Danilo, Walker and Mendy but it will be a good decision from Pep as they lacked some play and consistency in those positions last season. I think that Chelsea will come below both Manchester clubs. Conte is a great tactician but i think his personality could be divisive. A few bad results could be interesting. I tend to always agree with an tha when it comes to us. I think that we could look magnificent. Salah and Mane with Coutinho in the middle looks delicious. Unfortunately, they cant play every game, particularly if we qualify for the CL. I think we lose alot when we go to plan b. I hate seeing lallana in the forward line for example because we have an injury or we are resting players. Its worse when we have to play Origi. I have big hopes for Grujic, Trent and Solanke though. We desperately need a defensive general and alot depends on that. We could be third, we could be sixth. Spurs will suffer at Wembley. They are far from shit but i see problems with that.
  11. I dont know Dickie, he will score goals and he offers height at set pieces. Id like to see him impose himself more, but i look at our midfield options and already i think that he is way more likely to score than Wij, Henderson or Can. Lallana and Phil will also be in there and i think that they are both excellent elegant players but i think that Marko offers something a bit different and im fairly confident that he will make a good contribution for us this season. He has lovely skills and a bit of physicality. Like Solanke, i just want to see him have a bit of an edge, not all nicey nicey and nivea adverts and if they do i think they could both be something really good.
  12. Yeah, im 42 so im with you. I might change my name on this site instead, look to the future rather than back. And im 6ft6, so i guess that Grujic might be a better username!
  13. Grujic got some nice comments in this thread and i totally agree. Looks great with both feet too, which is a massive bonus. This could be his break out season. Its going to be really interesting to see what his best position is for us, but in a fluid system with Klopp as manager, he has a great chance. I think he might have been Klopps first signing, and what a signing it could prove to be! Im excited by him, Solanke, Woodburn and Trent. We look in a healthy position with emerging young talent. https://youtu.be/6cXMYl_QmIA
  14. Thanks for the great link to the match provided. I really like Solanke. What a great goal and a solid performance. I really hope he kicks on. Klopp loves a player with height too. Im not a fan of Origi, so i hope that Sturridge and Solanke get chances this season behind Bobby, who will undoubtly start the season with the jersey. Im intrigued as to what Jurgen will do when Salah and Mane are both on tbe pitch. I really like Phil in the centre too. No complaints about Robertson either. Obviously, only an idiot would draw a conclusion about hin from this game. I did love the encouragement that Jurgen gave him before he came on the field though. What a boost that was.
  15. I think the consistency arguement needs perspective. He mainly played as the left forward, which he isnt, imo. Id like to see him in the middle all the time and id guess that is where barca would put him if they did sign him. Hopefully, we will. Like Lallana, a much better player in the middle.
  16. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/rb-leipzig-preparing-season-liverpool-13386735 The Echo seem to be the mouthpiece for the club and a negotiation tool. Very strange. He aint coming, or we are playing the old, give us a sign RBL or we will go elsewhere. How that paper is used to drip feed the fans to manage expectations, amongst other things like players or Jurgen himself saying stuff, is frankly starting to piss me off. All cleverly orchestrated by a clueless whopper.
  17. I named my son Markus, in the great mans honour!
  18. I agree that this type of behaviour isnt great, but the context is our comedy approach to this transfer. We convinced him to come then Southampton found out. It would be different for me if Southampton simply refused to sell after a legal approach but i dont judge him too harshly in these circumstances.
  19. Well, Sami won the finish cup twice then captained willem 2 and was player of the year and qualified for the champions league before moving to us. Robertson hasnt even been man of the match in a premiership game and im not too sure about the championship with Hull. Though a joke analogy, i stand by it. You could try writting one if you like and ill critique it for you?
  20. He is utter shit. The comparison with Hyypia is flawed. The arguement that we should wait and see with hope in our hearts? Theres this cow. Its the one i wanted all my life. It left a farm in Glasgow when he was a bull calf because the farmer said that he was too small and a bit deficient, but he went out into the countryside and ate his grass until he tried and tried again. He always failed, but i knew, as soon as he wore my favourite coloured flower, he would do just fine, even though there was absolutely no evidence for it. HE WILL GET GAMES. That sends a chill down my spine.
  21. Renato Sanches. Surely an FSG type of signing instead of Keita? Big talent, tournament success, young but hasnt forced himself into the Bayern team. He does press really well and Klopp could make him great. It seems that £43M is the price. Id take him. Keita looks impossible to me. The world knows that Keita was our fitst choice but with Sanches you could tell him that we never thought his signing was possible. Sure, he has work to do, but he has alot of quality and is 19. A couple of you suggested this yesterday and im all in.
  22. I can take a joke, but chucking me in with JP is a bit harsh! Ill have to take a long hard look in the mirror. Im not that type of poster!
  23. Well, it seems like we are going to get him anyway. Im disappointed but i want the club to be successful more than i care about my internet rep, so i hope to be proved wrong. I wouldnt have chosen to go into the season with Milner as first choice left back. I think he did a great job covering there so maybe he can do even better. I hope so.
