I agree Gulasci has always impressed me when I have seen him and I rate bouzanis aswell, Gulasci should be number 2 with bouzanis as third choice, brad jones is shit and we are just pissing away 2m signing him.

The reason he will not get any top jobs is his achievements are got but nothing special, the top managers are the ones who achieve more then what is expected like rafa at valencia, hodgson done more then expected in the uefa cup and keeping fulham up a couple of seasons ago while what o'neill has achieved is to be expected of a 'good' manager. O'neills level is a prem team with a decent name who just want float about in mid table,I think he is a decent manager but I dont think he done anything special at villa and at celtic theres only one team to compete with, he has a lot to do before he can say he is a top manager.

I didnt mean newcastle as in their position today i.e just trying to avoid relegation I meant in terms of a prem team with a big name that has no real aims and would be happy with a trophy in 5 years. Honestly I would say roy is on the same level but I rate him as a better manager then O'neill, roy was not one of my choices for manager but now he is here I will be supporting him but I am still to be convinced that roy can manage a club whos ultimate aspiration is to win the league.

That was a one off that season o'leary got villa closer to champs league then o'neill, they were in it up until the last couple of games the previous season. I think he is a decent manager but limited in a few areas for example in the transfer market he has hardly signed any players who aint english and his tactics and style of football are not impressive. He will come back at some club like newcastle, west ham etc which is his level.

8m is a snip for a player of his quality, we should definitly be in for him at this price as you say he is versatile but I would even play him ahead of aqualani.

Cole (12 million) or Crouch (15 million)??

We need a target man and cole is the best option available to us, he is young, english, strong, hungry and has prem experience, Crouch is not worth 7m right now let alone 15m if roy signs him for anything close to 15m it is utter madness. -
I think C Cole would be a good signing for us, he has improved in the last couple of years and has the strength and aggression that crouch lacks.I think he would be good playing as the lone striker as cover for torres and I think they would play well together with him getting flick ons and torres making runs off him. He would be my first choice out of the strikers we could get, he is still young and is hungry to peove himself after failing at chelsea, hopefully this comes off.

My worrys about roy in the transfer market look like they are starting to come true, buying a player who wasnt good enough to be first team for us when he was here and is now older.All these countries roy has managed in and all he can come up with is average english players and players he has managed before, every manager in the prem seems to know about remy yet hodgson said he hasnt seen him enough. All the hope that came from the cole signing is disapearing with the dross now heading in to the club, a downgrade on masch and rebuying players who couldnt get us to where we wanted when they where here. Shitty defensive long ball football this season then, 4th at the very best.

Carew would get a lot of goals in our team and I would definitly take him over crouch, he gets more goals, is stronger, quicker and better in the air.If we could get him for a decent price I would take him.

No, he makes us play long ball football, he is too slow, not strong enough, poor in the air and gives away shit loads of free kicks. We need a better player then him and if we sign him we are getting no resale value.

Joe Cole is one of the only england players who has shown anything like what they are capable of in an england shirt so I find Capellos treatment of him a bit confusing. However this is good news for us as he wont be risked for some pointless friendly and he will be fired up to play his best for us to get back in the squad. -
crouch done ok while he was here but was not a great success as some seem to be making out, he is slow, poor in the air and gives away countless fouls and I for one would not like to see him back especially as we will get no money back for him because of his age. He also makes us revert to the long ball game, I remember all the milan players before the final saying how we played terrible football before the final. We do need a target man but we need an up and coming one to cover for torres, one who is got strength, pace, and is dominant in the air unlike crouch, maybe C Cole?

Signing average players like konchesky is not going to help us get to where we want to be,he is average and struggles against decent teams,being linked to players like him and luke young reminds me why I didnt want roy as manager. Very poor signing if this happens, another julian dicks.

I think we should get him back,if he doesnt want a pay as you play deal just give him a 1 year contract, when fit he is one of the best left backs in the league.Get another left back and rotate the pair of them,he had problems last year as he was having to play too much when it is known he cant play more the 1 game a week.

What makes this worse is we are selling a player who is if not as good as him very close in insua for only 2m more when insua has years ahead of him to develop and even if he flops we could sell him in a few years for a few mil, with young we are just pissing the money down the drain.

This guy has never been more then decent is now old and is not even good enough or villa. This would be a baffling signing as he should never be near the first team and is not much better then the young boys we have in those positions and he is on the way down,a waste of 3m.

He should be kept, he is excellent in possession and improved our ball retention greatly last season, he is better then kuyt,jovanovic and babel, I would be disapointed to see him go.

If we could get poulsen for a decent fee (around 5m) then i would be happy enough as he is a good dm, he has not looked good for juve as he hasnt played next to anyone creative and his lack of creativity has shown, his defensive side is good and this is the kind of player we need.It would also leave a large amount for roy to invest in over areas such as cover for up front. I think we are after him roy signed him when he was an unknown and knows all about him. -
