  1. Being a cock as usual, I see. These stats can be manuipulated no end. So much so, that I've seen calculations where our net spend last year and including the sale of Keane was £4m. See, if you want to set your own timescales, so can we.
  2. I'd suggest that during Rafa's tenure, our exploits in Europe have raised probably in excess of £100m. We're talking about £30m+ easily from our run to Istanbul and the win. Even including the following year when we got knocked out by Benfica, we've probably averaged at least £20m a year from the CL alone.
  3. Yeah, it's good job all the other teams in the league stood still while we were spending all that money. Otherwise we'd have stuggled to scrape fourth, never mind mount a serious title challenge. Bad Rafa. Evil Rafa.
  4. Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me! kvs4bOMv5Xw
  5. Without wishing to take this thread off track again - not that it makes a fucking difference, considering how many topics have already been discussed - the Aquilani thing. Reports seem to suggest that the injury problems are a symptom of players not being looked after properly at Roma. Previously rock solid players suddenly turning to glass. I guess it would be like Owen getting injured during Houllier's tenure and then being brought back too quickly before he'd healed properly. Seen similar comments posted elsewhere, but this one is pretty comprehensive. The irrelevant bits have been chopped out - full article: The Problems Mount - - The Offside - AS Roma Calcio Blog
  6. I've watched Torres scoring goals and thought, "There's not a better striker on the planet." I've watched Gerrard, thinking, "Best player in the world" I've watched Reina prepare to to save a penalty, knowing that he WILL save it. I've watched Mascherano destroy attacks and thought "Best destroyer in the world." Different personalities, innit? Can you imagine Bob making dispparaging comments about Everton - back garden and drawing of curtains, for example. And Rafa dares to retailate against Slur and some of our own fucking fans slate him. He only said what we all thought. Some fans think they know better than the manager, but in this case, wasn't he proved right? Neville sent off with the captain's substitute being responsible for the nearly goal? And he has been right about Gerrard all along. No one gets a kick. It's just the way he is - personalities, innit? Nobody knows what's gone on and it's wrong to lay ALL the blame at the feet of one party, whoever that might be.
  7. Don't do it. You lose out on the social side of things that you get at work. Unless you're a Billy No Mates at work... then go for it. The other thing is that it becomes hard to deliniate between work time and home time and depending on your responsibilites at work, there's a danger of using more and more personal time to get work stuff done. Of course you can end up saving a couple of hours every day just in commuting time, but do you really want to spend that time working instead of sleeping on the bus/train or sitting in traffic?
  8. They dealt with it easily? You stupid dipshit. They had over a fucking year of shit from Madrid.
  9. The maximum I believe is 6 years for things like TVs, washing machines, fridges, etc. About a year back, the tube on one of my TVs went completely. I phoned Toshiba and they contacted their authorised repairer who'd diagnosed the problem in the first place and replaced the tube free of charge. That included the labour as well - I didn't pay a penny.
  10. I'm fairly certain it's the same guy - he posted a picture of himself with Xabi at Xabi's wedding/reception.
  11. You do, if you're making sure you don't get fucked over in the market if/when the player goes. Shame we didn't do that with McManaman and Owen. Do you really think that that all the players who've been given new contracts in the last 6 months are going to be here in a year or 2? Particularly the younger ones? Rafa is looking at this as a long term business. It what Ral Madrid and Barcleona do - have 500 kids on their books and then sell them off for €100k - €1m if they don't make it. Stops the young ones all leaving on frees to smaller clubs and from the 500 that were on they books, 1 or 2 might make it and save them €50 in the transfer market.
  12. I would guess that a lot of the benefit comes from higher revenues from TV rights in the Far East, bigger sponsorships from our marketing partners, etc. I doubt anyone will make much from shirts and merchandise sales. All that stuff will be knock-offs bought at a 5th the price of the real stuff.
  13. Right, who are you? And what have you done with Rash?
  14. MODS! MODS! Someone's nicked Rash's login! ;)
  15. Sat Navs can be reeallly shit. Personal experience of just how shit.... I was working down in Basildon and Benfleet down in Essex once. Having finished the day in Benfleet, I headed back to my hotel in Basildon with the aid of Tom Tom. So I'm heading down this road and people are staring. I think nothing of it and then the road narrows and there's no more street lamps. Carried on a bit more and the road starts to turn into a track. In fairness, it was the beginning of December, 6:30 in the evening, no cloud and no moon - fucking pitch dark, and the headlights on my car were shite. But having heard the stories about satnav, I stopped. I could see that further ahead, that the track was narrowing and longish grass was growing on both sides of the track. Got a powerful LED torch out my car and could see that a 100m on, the track eventually disappeared - just TALL grass. Even further ahead, was the fucking A road I was trying to get onto. And TomTom as trying to take me down this track onto the A road. What TomTom didn't fucken realise was that the road stopped 50 meters short of the A road (A130, I think). Worst of all? The A road was about 30 foot over the fucking imaginary road it was taking me down ! I can imagine the next instruction - "Take off vertically and continue for 10 meters, and bear left". Just glad I got suspicious of the fucking thing in time.
  16. Slightly off topic.... but what the fuck is a "shopping mall warrior"?
  17. Was that his "front trunk" or his "hidden trunk"? Is there much of a size difference?
  18. This is a £2m player that we recoupeed our fees on. And the bit about CL expulsion... don't be such a drama queen.
  19. You say Rafa was responsible for Keane being shit. I'll say now that I've never rated the bloke as top class and he was never Liverpool standard. So yes, Rafa made the mistake of buying him - though there are stories that Rafa tried to stop the deal on the day. No, Rafa's mistake was having the bloke as a transfer target in the firt place. Never a Liverpool player in a million years. And when he signed, I supported him like I support anyone in red shirt. But his finger waging, constant un-Liverpool like mouthing off on the pitch, air shots, and missing sitters is why he failed. Players get paid millions to deal with life and the shite the goes on at a top club. Robbie Keane failed because he was never good enough. And that's the mistake that Rafa made - targetting/signing him - not turning him into a shit player.
  20. Nah, they'll tell you Alonso was signed by Pako Ayestaran. Rafa really should stop listening to his assistants.
  21. That bit I highlighted in red is bollox. Keane's agent had been talking to Spurs since November.
  22. Fer fuck's sake, Rash behave yerself. You agreed with Rafa last year, and now you bash him for a decision you agreed with. Revisionism, hypocrisy, stupidity, whatever. I don't know the right word for it. Maybe all of them. We've got 260+ odd pages of this thread and you've said the same fucking thing every other page - that makes at least 130 times repeating what you said. We heard you the first time and the 20th, and the 50th, and the 100th. Thank fuck I'm going on holiday now with the family = Blackberry off = no internet for a week = no more reading this bullshit for a week = bliss.
