  1. Actually, Moores put some of his (inherited) money in when he underwrote the (heavily undersubscribed) share issue that funded the construction of the Centenary Stand. However, that doesn't absolve him from this fucking shambles. Ultimately, the buck stops with Moores; he's not a doddery old fucking man that is likely to be robbed of his life savings by the fella at the front door posing as the gasman. If he was so clueless he should have been nowhere near the Chairmanship for the past 15+ years.
  2. The other day you were saying the DIC deal stalled because they needed more information that wasn’t forthcoming from Moores, and now you’re saying it’s because we were ‘in a mess’. Hhmmm. No matter how you attempt to dress it up, DIC had the field to themselves for a not inconsiderable length of time, yet they still managed to come second in a one camel race. Is this how they would conduct transfer activity too? A player is identified and makes all the right noises about wanting to sign, but DIC dilly dally for too long and the player thinks: “fuck this for a game of soldiers”, and joins another Club that lodged a late bid. Would DIC and their ‘sensibilities’ really be cut out to battle it out in the transfer market with its difficult, hard-bargaining chairmen, money grabbing double talking agents, tapping-up merchants, bung meisters and the like?
  3. Although the off-field shenanigans will have had some effect, if we don’t finish in the top four then I’d put most of the responsibility on Rafa’s shoulders; it’s not as if the patterns we are witnessing are new. However, I’m pretty confident that we’ll finish in the top four.
  4. He'd better not get a new contract. Injuries or not, it's time to uncerimoniously bin him.
  5. In terms of his ability to frustrate, he's Danny Murphy and Luis Garcia rolled into one. I don't think i've ever disliked a regular starter more than I dislike Kuyt the player.
  6. Exactly what information did they want that they couldn't get? DIC were doing the due dillergence for quite a long time before Gillett came back with Hicks on board - they had ample time to get things wrapped up.
  7. DIC are shithouses; why didn’t they stick around and fight Hicks & Gillett when they (DIC) were still actually in the running to buy the Club instead of pissing off? Hurt pride? They buckled at the thought of Hicks & Gillett offering a measly additional £17.5million (£500 per share)? Yet we’re now expected to believe that they are about to gallop to the rescue and allegedly fork out an additional £75 million each to Hicks and Gillett on top of the purchase price, and pay more for the stadium than they originally planned because they can’t go back to the original Parry bowl, can they? Utter nonsense.
  8. I'm hoping against hope that this is a pile of steaming shite. I can't abide the fucking cunt.
  9. So a group of players that are currently happy because they are playing in top competitions and earning good money suddenly decide to stop playing for the Manager, which in turn is likely to jeopardise their continued participation in top competitions? Hhmm Ok.
  10. What do you mean when you agree with Johnb that Rafa has 'lost the players'? On the one hand you think they are happy because they are playing in top competitions and are on good money, yet on the other, Rafa has 'lost' them? My interpretation of Rafa losing the players would be that they (the players) are totally pissed off and want him to either change to suit their wishes, or be replaced. Yet if they are playing in the top competitions and are on good money, what's the big deal?
  11. By that logic, are you saying our players are currently happy because they are playing in the top competitions - upper reaches of the PL, in the FA Cup and CL, and they are all on top money?
  12. I don't know of any; it's merely a theory I've seen put forward numerous times as to why Rafa shouldn't get the chop.
  13. There seems to be two conflicting schools of thought regarding the players: A. Rafa has lost the players, hence they can't be arsed pulling their fingers out and routinely put in shoddy performances. B. Rafa gets the sack which precipitates a mass exodus of players as they don't want to stick around for the post-Rafa era. It's hard to make sense of it.
  14. If we qualify for the CL I’d give him another season. If we don't I'd say that was enough, or I'd want him to get the boot if he starts running his mouth off again in what look like diversionary tactics, ala post Athens.
  15. Oh yeah, top scorer in Euro 2004 before Rafa arrived. Baros is miles better than Kuyt and Voronin - he's quicker, a lot more skillful, a hard worker and posed a threat to the opposition despite his ability to frustrate.
  16. Voronin isn't the best but I think Kuyt should be out the door first, or at least at the same time.
  17. If this applies to our players then we've got the wrong sort of players. We're not going to get anywhere if we've got a team of Emile Heskeys that need constant assurance and cajoling. We need a team of hard-headed professionals that go out and do their jobs. All this bollocks reeks of the Bitters when they got bounced out of the CL qualifiers and then went on a terrible run until Christmas, with the bog eyed monster trying to justify themselves by saying that the players had felt hard done to. Fucking hell.
  18. Here we go again, Dr Dirk will once again thumb through some weighty tomes and enlighten the board as to the psychological state of a group of grown men, and will explain in great detail the reason that this group of grown men can not beat other groups of grown men at football :D
  19. I'm still backing him as Manager, but he should concentrate all his efforts on what he's paid to do and stop flapping his mouth, like after the CL Final and the i'm-concentrating-on-my-team press conference. He can only go to the well so often, and if results don't improve his support will start to haemorrhage rapidly.
  20.:lol: When challenged, you always become aggressively defensive. You keep replicating the same behaviour when faced with the same scenario – I’m sure you’re familiar with that concept. :D
  21. Yeah right, it's down to Hicks & Gillett that we can't beat shite like Wigan, Luton & 'Boro.
  22. Dalglish wasn't exactly on his own though, was he? He had Bob as his No.2/advisor and the rest of the Boot Room to help him.
  23. I think you are becoming a sad caricature, with a constant downer on everything to do with the Club. You’re just like some of the Bitters with their constant moaning and conspiracy theories about everything Keith Wyness, Bill Kenwright & Co do. I occasionally check out the ‘relocate’ forum on BlueKipper and you’d fit right in with the whiners.
