  1. A big club would drive the fuck on whether we get top 4 or not and make sure we don't underfund the squad again. Over to you John.
  2. We've got a 4th division defence and are getting rightly fucked for it.
  3. Usual one sided reffing. Nothing major but it all favours the opposition. Jota looks sharp. Nice to have someone with goals on his mind up there
  4. Virgil and crowds back will help. But Gomez, Maptip, Keita and co will all get injured again. Gini will be gone. Hendo is getting older, so without signings and investment we'll continue to decline. I don't think we'll get the required level of signings and investment
  5. Might as well have stayed with David Moores
  6. sell to buy equilibrium on transfers. a hugely risky strategy. Lets say we sell Salah and buy Sancho and Konate. It could all go pete tong very quickly
  7. Our current "self sustaining" model roughly equates to maintaining some kind of sell to buy equilibrium. Our net outlay on transfers is minimal. I would think the best case scenario in the picking up gems model is to become an english Borussia dortmund. In effect, operate as a second tier club but every now and again hit the jackpot and have a short run of success. Thats a best case scenario. You could just as easily plod along like Arsenal or Tottenham. There isn't an obvious solution. No-one can compete with the Oil Money head on. Klopps genius brought us close and I think we should have looked to make a bit of hay while on top but our owners for whatever reason thought differently.
  8. The consensus is probably get rid of 5 (sicknotes mainly) and bring in 3 top quality players. Not that drastic considering what's at stake
  9. Hard luck lad, I'm sure you'll get a winner in the second half
  10. And went out and dropped 100 million on two new centre halves in the summer to correct it
  11. For years we always had about 3 or 4 weak links. Having to try to paper over an Aly Cisokho or Jon Flanagan. We eventually got to this position of an exceptional starting 11, due to excellent wheeling and dealing, whereby a top class player or two would be needed each window to maintain things. But these dopey cunts are letting the squad age and deplete.
  12. We should have signed De Ligt after we won the champions league. That signing would probably have been enough for that year.
  13. The whole house of cards seemed to be built on the first 11/13 not getting any injuries for the 4th year running and in particular VVD. We used to have three centre backs, Lovren, Gomez, and Matip who between them could just about cover one position fitnesswise alongside Virgil who plays every game. In hindsight dropping that to two was a huge mistake. When Virgil got crocked, Gomez and Matip had to step in as players to show up and play every week, and predictaly both crumbled. Then Fab and Hendo have to cover back and the wear and tear of playing non stop for the last few years and playing out of position caught up with them too. If Virgil stays fit, you could probably molly coddle the other two centre havles and nurse them through the season resulting in the midfield staying intact. In turn you could get rest time for Hendo and Fab. Could have been all so different. I'm still blaming FSG for all of this, they kept spreading the butter too thin and in the end they've been caught out. Negative momentum can snowball just the same as positive and they started this rolling. Cunts
  14. He comes across as a bit thick in those club youtube videos, and now he's just confirmed it.
  15. We don't spend when we make the champions league anyway. We don't even spend when we win it. Hopefully these incentive based contracts kick in in reverse for a few lads
  16. Didn't David Moores sell up because the club making it all on its own steam wasn't considered a feasible way to operate successfuly? This seems to be the FSG business model.
  17. Haaland is 43 goals in 43 games since he joined Dortmund but by all accounts he's not a good man to piss about in his own half linking play. I'm out.
  18. They absolutely have to mic these cunts up. They need to explain their rationale behind the decisions, and id nearly guarantee an improvement because of it. At the moment there is no accountability. I know refs have always been a special breed and a bit weird but the current offering in the premier league is just brutal.
