  1. I doubt we would match his wage demands. He's more likely to go to Italy.
  2. Yeah but before this season started who'd have thought we'd be strong contenders for second and be the team chasing Chelsea. While the team still doesn't have the right people and while the team still isn't Benitez's team we'll continue to frustrate. Just think how good we're going to be next season.
  3. Defoe is with the team on the bus so I guess thats the end of that. They are going to try for Torres in the summer although I think they haven't got a feckin hope of getting him. Interestingly though they are trying to get Del Piero tonight.

    Cisse

Nothing is deffo, but I'm being told the deal is Cisse for Defoe. This could be rubbish. I know Spurs were interested in Cisse, but he told them that if he left then he'd want to go to Marseille so I'm surprised if this is true - maybe he's changed his mind. I know Pongolle sounded out a Spurs move a few months back so I thought if there were going to be any deal it might include Pongolle. All in all I don't know anything for certain, but there's certainly some 'excitement' at Spurs today and the rumours are a Cisse for Defoe deal.

    Cisse

Its Cisse for Defoe. At least thats the talk in the corridors of White Hart lane this morning.
  6. Fair enough and I agree with you, but given this is an internet forum and given that they have better things to do than spend their time emailing me I'm not surprised that they aren't joining the debate. I think Tim has a point myself, they seem to think otherwise.
  7. ..."can't be arsed mate. People are welcome to come to the AGM if they're bothered"... Oh well.
  8. I'll try, but they are very wary of airing their affairs.
  9. Fair enough as I don't have access to their accounts to confirm. My sources at the club however do disagree with you and they seem to think they are very well off indeed. (The email reply to your post reads "he's talking rubbish"). They also haven't heard a thing about King leaving or at least they won't tell me if he is.
  10. Loans and share sales aside, Spurs recently declared their highest ever operating profit. They have invested heavily in players and the stadium which those figures don't include. They are planning more player aquisitions for both January and the Summer and they are planning further stadium modification and possibly even a new stadium depending on what is done for the games. King will not be swapped for Cisse as Spurs aren't trying to get him largely because Cisse wants to go to Marseille should he leave LFC. The director of football has talked to him, but then he would as he knows all the young French players very well. He's talked to Pongolle too.
  11. Best not. Its Spurs business and nothing to do with us.
  12. Yes you can't rule anything out but if that website has got it right then they must have some exceptionally good contacts within Spurs. They are aiming to sell a player, but it isn't King and its not to us.
  13. They don't need the money. The only way on Earth Spurs will sell King is if he indicates that he will not renew his contract, but why would they then sell their captain in January when they are pushing for Europe ? None of it makes sense and there are no rumours at Spurs of them selling King.
  14. No, I'm a Liverpool fan and always have been and always will be. Spurs are very financially sound. They have an excellent, financially minded board of directors. Their assets (Davids excluded) are largely profitable, their wages are half that of LFC and are mostly performance based, their stadium is profitable and they are owned by a company that is prepared to spend wisely. Basically Spurs make money. Having said that they aren't the best on the pitch and I suspect the majority of the youngsters are journeymen. They have a core of decent players, but unless Spurs make the next step into Europe then most won't be there forever (except maybe for Robinson), but Spurs know that and will profit from it as they aren't an ageing team that will see their assets depreciate.
  15. G'day I had to register to respond to this. If this is true then it is being kept an absolute secret at Spurs which would be a first. Having said that, nothing is impossible. However I just can't see this myself and whilst the sporting director knows Cisse, Pongolle and Le Tallec very well and they all respect him, it is only Pongolle who has shown any active interest in joining Spurs. Also if Cisse joined where would that leave Defoe as they are essentially the same type of player ? Plus Spurs don't need the cash, King is a favourite etc etc - It just doesn't add up which makes me think this is just the silly season rumour mill. Keane is rumoured to be looking for a move elsewhere though and the punch up with Davids added to the reasons. Can't see him joining us either though.
