  1. I don't blame Joe Cole, I blame the fucking overpomoted bell end playing real life Football Manager with the club who signed him over the judgement of a Champions League winning manager. Nice one Christian.
  2. Smart way to operate would be to understate what our plans are and complete our business behind closed doors. However going on the clubs current form I reckon that when he says there's no more money to spend he means it.
  3. Hands down the Mancs. It's all about progression in the league this season for me.
  4. Dossena's against the Mancs was pretty fucking enjoyable as well, although cannot remember if the Madrid one was the week before or after that. Not a bad couple of clubs to score your only goals against like.
  5. Torres v Chelsea. Anfield went absolutely fuking berserk when that went in. Remember everyone's jaw dropping when they realised we had a real world class striker on our hands.
  6. Atleast Kenwright is seemingly genuine in his determination to not sell any part of the club to anyone who's intentions he considers to be questionable. If David Moores showed an ounce of that in our sale then we'd likely be 100 times better off for it today.
  7. Absolutely no chance he will be coming anywhere near Liverpool so I wouldn't worry.
  8. My season ticket is in 306 and Maggie Maggie Maggie Die Die Die has been audible for the past few years every match. It's certainly picked up this season with the "we're gonna have a party version" but it's always been pretty vocal.
  9. There are chants about thatcher dying on the Kop every match and there has been for a few years now.
  10. 9/12 represents a good return from the Christmas fixtures. It was the manner of the Stoke defeat which leaves such a sour taste, though thankfully it seems like we've took that on board and responded in the best possible fashion. Good performance tonight. Finally starting to look clinical in attack which will surely only improve in the coming weeks. Suarez and Gerrard in particular stood out. Massive month of games ahead now with the Mancs, Arsenal and City away so it's absolutely vital we gained some momentum and confidence tonight as those fixtures will shape what we achieve from this season.
  11. We couldn't sell Carroll for 15m+ last summer when his stock was high after a good Euros, and FA Cup Semi and Final goals. What makes people think that 5months down the line after an injury ravaged first half of the season we'd get that kind of fee for him now? Best case scenario is he gets fit, has a decent rest of season at West Ham and we sell for 12ish next summer. I like the lad but I don't see how we are going to get any more than that out of a deal.
  12. The lad seems to have the talent but it's fair to say that he hasn't yet established himself as a quality player on a consistent basis. Taking a positive view, that could work in our favour as he definitely has to now go out and prove himself. Whilst I'm not ecstatic about the signing, I'm far from unhappy either. It's down to him how well he does at the club. He is at the very least another attacking option, he offers pace and skill, and whilst he hasn't scored bucket loads of goals his goals/games record is good so hopefully with a pro-longed run in the team and the trust from the manager that he'll be a regular starter, he'll have the confidence to contribute regularly for us. His presence too can also benefit Suarez, as he is another attacking option that the opposition will have to be wary of and another problem to concern them in matches. All in all I'm excited to see whether he can realise his potential. He has his big money move and he'll get consistent matches now to prove himself so there's no excuses and no where to hide if it doesn't work out. If he does that, and fucks off the gobshite dancing after goals then he could well be a very good bit of business for the club.
  13. He is apparently shite, a no mark, a shithouse, a money grabber, a mercenary, according to the experts in this thread. I just find it amazing that people can be so well informed on the lad. I'm a season ticket holder, if I've not been at a match Nuri has played for Liverpool in, then I've watched it on the television. I consider myself unable to make a fair and balanced judgement on the player because 1, he has hardly played for us, 2, he hasn't played much football in the past 12-18months due to injury, and 3, he is still settling in to a new, fast and physical league and looking to regain form and fitness at the same time. From what I've seen of him I've not been bowled over by his performances, but I recognise there may be mitigating factors behind that. People who have followed his career and seen him playing for Dortmund have said he is a highly talented player. They are also suggesting that we haven't been playing him in what people would consider his strongest position. I just find it baffling when I read such sweeping statements about him. Can't see how anyone would be in a position to cast such judgements unless they have access to training at Melwood everyday.
  14. Some absolute fucking shite being spouted on this thread.
  15. Lunya on College Street by BBC Radio Merseyside is brilliant, Spanish and Catalan dishes. Also Bem Brazil just down from there on Hannover Street is top draw if you like your meat.
  16. Aye, true. It's more the reported blanket insistence on buying kids with potential and in my opinion underestimating the worth of mature players with proven class.
  17. I've got a feeling he'll either be absolutely shit, boss, or somewhere inbetween.
  18. Alonso rumoured to be stalling on a contract and looking to move back to PL according to a few of the papers today. Fuck moneyball, re-sale values or value for money bollocks, if this lad comes available then we need to make it happen.
  19. It's so hard for me to watch that clip. It saddens me to see the level we are at now compared to then. For a 4months period we where undoubtedly the best side on the planet. The Real Madrid match is probably the best 90minutes I've ever seen from a red shirt. Swatting aside the best at home and in Europe. That's the one time in my life I've actually thought "fucking hell, we are absolutely boss". How I miss those Champions League nights, and Fernando Torres at the peak of his powers. I'd do anything to have them days back again, we were awesome and never beaten. Even when we went a goal down you knew we'd come back. Rafa really built an awesome side that only looking back now are we only really able to appreciate how good it was.
  20. He didn't set the place a light early on, looked a bit off the pace I agree. But he hasn't started a PL match in what must be over two months now. The lad supposedly has pedigree about him and with some of the abject displays we have served up recently I'd like to see him in his preferred central role for a few matches with Steven Gerrard pushed up the field. Can't be any worse than the shite our midfield has served up.
  21. Spend all summer trying to sign Sahin on load from Real Madrid, then bench him all season.
  22. @Realaldo474: Apparent team today I've been told peep,Johnson,agga,skrtl,Enrique,Allen,gerrard,Henderson,downing,Suarez,sterling
  23. Rodgers to miss QPR clash 30th Dec 2012 - Latest News 0 CommentsPrintShare ArchiveLFC To Go Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh will deputise for manager Brendan Rodgers in the technical area at Loftus Road today, after three members of the travelling party were struck down with illness. The Reds boss has been sent home from London ahead of the Barclays Premier League game against QPR on doctor's orders after succumbing to a bug that has made it impossible for him to be in close proximity with the players. Glen Driscoll, LFC's head of performance, and goalkeeper Brad Jones have also been sent home by the club's medical team. Club doctor Zaf Iqbal said: "It was impossible for Brendan, Glen and Brad to attend the game. They are not fit to be at the match and any contact with the rest if the squad could cause the bug to spread to more of the playing staff."
