  1. Talk about reading too much into nothing! After Babel's Webb photo I'd think he might be a little "offline" on twitter? Also isn't his hearing today - he might have an update for you tonight if you can't live without knowing what time he's off to bed.
  2. If that's the lineup then I'll be quite happy with that. Kuyt needs to step up, but he normally does in big games. Cole could make a difference when people tire so hope to see him on in the second half.
  3. The kind of pass and move football Kenny seems to be going for I don't really see Momo fitting into unless he's improved that part of his game significantly. But I'd still want him ahead of Poulsen and Lucas when it comes to defending.
  4. 1. Dudek 2. Gerrard at right back:) 3. Maldini 4. Baresi 5. Mølby 6. Redondo 7. Luis Enrique 8. Stoichkov 9. Van Basten 10. Maradona 11. Boban
  5. it can still go either way, but it's hard being too optimistic atm cause we're very inconsistant. I think we'll have a hard time getting fourth place, but we should be close come May. Actually the program looks very inviting the next couple of months, so maybe we can push on. City are well in it, but they look like a side that could colapse any moment. If we're in contact by mid January and we get 2-3 signings that will improve us then I'd be very dissapointed if we'll end up calling the season a write-off. Either way the new owners will do a lot to make the season worthwhile. At least off the pitch.
  6. Anyone know anything about Andre Villas-Boas who's currently the manager at Porto? 33-years-old and appearently an "understudy" to Mourinho at his time at Porto. I'm not saying he's the answer at all, but he seems to be doing really well. Recently beat benfica 5-0. porto have won 10 out 12 league games this season with a 28-5 goal difference. Having said that Coyle would be interesting - as would Deschamps, but I'm a bit sceptical about another French revolution at Anfield.
  7. That's not even near good enough! Certainly a long way from 'the best midfield in the world'. We need at lest 3 international top players in that position. Besides who's to say we'll be playing 4-4-2 every game.
  8. As sad as this is for Carra it's also quite interesting to see some new faces in the central defence. Both Kelly and Wilson seems to have great potential and maybe something unexpected positive can come of this setback? We've looked very thin in defence this season, som hopefully one of the young talents takes this chance.
  9. If we're after Gary Cahill this should speed up any interest in January? Or maybe Agger is going to stay contrary to all the rumours? Anyway, this should give a few chances for Kelly or Wilson. I'd fancy Kelly to get the chance.
  10. When I first saw the situation I read the same into it as the OP. It may very well be Torres's thing to walk away from penalties against us, so that's fair enough, but why was there no reaction when it was clear Defoe had missed? I don't want to read too much into it, but I don't believe Torres is very happy and I think it's his last season here if we don't qualify for CL which looks very remote. I can't blame him for leaving if the club is out of the CL 2 season in a row.
  11. Would love to see a young player like Wilson involved, but since he hasn't been playing that much I think it's because he isn't quite there yet? Certainly not to completely replace Agger. I think we need 1-2 new defenders as it is. We've looked very thin this season. It sure doesn't help that Aurelio and Agger are injured half the time, but Kelly and Wilson still need more development - we just don't have the confidence to give them that many games due to the fact that we're already behind on points. If we're 3-0 up then throw them in, but when is that gonna happen? I think everyone would have been better of loaning Wilson straight back to Rangers when he brought him. A season more up there with CL games would have been better for him.
  12. We can't recall Aquilani. Roy said so on todays pressconference
  13. Whelan is quoted for saying the stuff about the different type of defender. It's not about injuries, but Whelan thinks it a shame that there isn't room for a defender with Aggers abilities going forward and being better on the ball. I take it Roy wants a big strong defender? According to the articel Roy have told a few journalists (of the record) the story that he wants rid of Agger. One would think this have something to do with the "falling out" stories after Agger criticised Roy's tactics. If it was only a question of Agger being to injured I don't think anyone could argue too much about that. Just seems to be more to it than that.
  14. It seems Roy wants to sell Agger or maybe even loan him out in January. Ronnie Whelan seems to think he's leaving too as Roy wants "a different type" of defender. The articel also states that Roy needs to trim the wages in order to bring in new players. Don't know if it's all true, but think it could have legs. The articel is in Danish, so I'll only put the link on here. Agger færdig i Liverpool - Fodbold
  15. I quite like the design of the new stadium, but this is also quite spectacular (probably cost 10 times as much). Just for reference I'll link it....3 pictures in the slide show. Same architect that did the new Wembley. Foster + Partners
  16. I hope we'll win. Hopefully we'll sack Roy no matter what happens on Sunday, but I doubt it if we win. I just can't see Roy turning this around. Our players looks as uncomfortable as at the end of last season. It's heads down all around on the pitch. It gets even worse when Roy talks to the media. It's unworthy!
  17. A 27-year-old man and a 52-year-old man got minor injuries in the attack. 6 fans was attacked on Wednesday night. Horrible twats
  18. The game against Napoli isn't that important to be honest. Sure a win would do good, but I don't think we can win it even with our best players in there, so might aswell rotate and hope for the best. If Gerrard/Torres played and got injured Roy would be fucked (and so would we). He's only concern is to try to win on Sunday. If not I think he's out - and I hope so too. I don't have any expectations for Thursday and think he isn't doing anyone who plays in that game any favours. Normally when you're in a crises you want games thick and fast, but I ain't looking forward to this one cause it's a lose-lose situation no matter what I think. All eyes are on Sunday. A win Thursday and then points dropped Sunday won't do! I think Roy's got the priority straight, but that might not make much difference regarding the performance.
  19. Think this story is a non-starter, really. Agger does indeed have to many injuries, but that could be said about a lot of our players the last couple of years. unfortunately, I think this has stopped Agger becomming clear first choice in our central defense as he hasn't really progressed in recent seasons. He has a recouring back injury so maybe getting some more muscle build up would help him. However the injury he got this tuesday playing for Denmark was a leg injury - similar to a dead leg more or less. After the game he did an interview in relations to that previous interview with a danish journalist where he seemed to have taken a swipe at Roy's tactics. Agger again this tuesday said that that was very far from what he actually said. The problem was that the editor from the newspaper had done the headline which both Agger and the journalist in question was unhappy with. This happens all the time, so Agger just needs to be more carefull when given interviews, but I wouldn't put too much into it. I'm more concerned that Roy would rather play Skrtel ahead of a more "playing" defender as Agger. But then again it may have something to do with injuries? Based on performances this season Kyrgiakos should be playing, but Roy's tactics has been baffeling and don't seem to be getting it right tomorrow either if rumours are true.
  20. Mill Financial seems to believe he does? This is far from over and everything points to more day/weeks in court, probably both in the UK and in USA? RBS aren't saying a lot today, so hopefully they have a plan to deal with this. Question is if we can wait until tonight with the boardmeeting?
  21. Isn't it 5 am over there now? Good news if true, but there could possibly be a flipside to this?
  22. "Mill opened talks with RBS am yesterday, offering to pay off #lfc's loan. On advice of its lawyers, RBS refused to take the money," The Times's Ben Smith tweets. This seems dodgy as well? No doubt will see another day in court about this if Hicks don't get it his way. Can RBS really say no to money from someone trying to pay a loan? The 'fact' that someone (Mill) is willing to pay the loan (for Hicks) must be a bad thing for us?
  23. How can Hicks sell his shares when RBS/Liverpool can't accept a bid from NESV? Maybe Hicks don't need to sell atm to get Mill to pay the debt - could be a deal to do this after the debt is cleared adn power back at Hicks court, but it seems very weird.
  24. That doesn't make me feel any better. We might live to regret that RBS didn't call in the loan earlier this week?
  25. I'd take administration and a 9 point penalty now to stop this mess! If that's the only way to be 100% sure Hicks and co are definately out of the club then I say put us into administration pronto. It feels like we're gambling atm. I don't like the fact that Hicks got time to do buissness cause he's desperate and will do anything it seems.
