  1. absolute disgrace ,if we don't get a new stadium off the ground then nothing will be built or regenerated, the shared stadium is just pie in the sky and they can dream on . The more they hold up the more costs spiral and if the shit hits the fan then they will and should be held directly responsible.
  2. I think you need to calm down ,I like benitez I think he's the right man for the job so stop assuming rubbish ,I wouldn't want to see houllier back if he was the last man walking on the planet. his post match interviews have nothing to do with his abilities I didn't say it did ,but I can have a genuine concern that some of his ideas aren't getting through fully ,language is the key to anything to express what you mean ,to inspire people etc I was just expressing a concern . some people are far too touchy ,liverpool fans above any other seem to put mangers on a pedestal so much that they are untouchable ,any slight criticism and you get shouted down ,if only we hadn't been so blinded in our faith in managers we might not have had to put up with houllier two seasons two long . We go on about how much the team is more important that the players ,but that should also imply that the club is more important than the manager which even benitez himself would admit. I take the point that newcastle had few chances but they had more possession by a country mile so how can we say we control the game ,you control a game by passing the ball around in your possession not giving or hoofing it to a player in another shirt.
  3. I agree that benitez needs more english lessons just so he can explain exactly what he means better ,I have listened to some of his interviews recently and to be honest I didn't have a clue what he was trying to say or what he meant ,my eyes just glazed over, I'm getting a bit bored of him saying we are constantly controlling a game when we have less than 35 per cent of the possession.
  4. I read something in the newspaper after the carling cup final that there was two players who remained nameless who had a massive bust up after the defeat in the changing room and then on the coach ,it said apparently everyone thinks they are good mates when in actual fact even their girlfriends both hate each other ,it didn't name if it was liverpool or chelsea but straight away I thought it was gerrard and carragher . Cos they were meant to have fell out when gerrard was going to sign for chelsea ,and we all know micheal owen was gerrard's best mate but funnily enough we never hear of gerrard and carragher being good mates .Anyone heard anything ? or am I just stetching this conspiracy too far , I would like to know what carragher thinks of gerrard especially if he gets off..would be very interesting.
  5. yes we have by giving houllier too long at the helm ,and now some people are taking their pent up frustration of the houllier era and throwing it at benitez after a few months at the job. The obvious thing to point out is that benitez and houllier shouldn't be confused just cos they look alike , everything is being magnified and compared now after houllier ,people are looking more closely at benitez's signings and complaining ,thinking that we are just signing spanish crap in the place of french crap. I think its a shame in the way that we gave houllier so much time and patience along with his signings ,heskey , cheyrou ,biscan, diao in the hope that one day this century they would come good. Feels like the balance just can't be struck, gave houllier too much time and benitez too little time ,if we had been more critical of houllier it would have been better all round ,but now we are criticising a manager too quick who has to performm a miracle by next season to get us challenging for the premiership or he'll have the sack em brigade after him. but when you have chelsea announcing 88 million pounds losses and it doesn't make a dent and our investment offered by morgan only came to less than that ,which was to help finance the stadium and bring new players in .I just think people haven't completely comprehended the massive change in dynmaics that took place. We need a bloody billionaire to compete.
  6. not like anyone is going to compensate liverpool on time wasting ,everyone sticking their unwanted beaks in with impeccable timing as always just when liverpool submitted their plans for a new stadium and they were accepting ,dickheads form the council ,quango ,bureaucrats ,the govt all wanting the city of liverpool to be an experiment for their own egotistical purposes ,it doesn't make sense to have two stadiums they say , well it does when its two completely different teams.Thx god all that shite is over ,had enough of listening to it ,just cos the council can't build anything of note or substance in time for this capital of culture doesn't mean they should mess us up too.The only thing being properly built is the grosevnor project and thats only cos its private business, and private business wants to build the brunswick tower which I have to say looks superb but thats been voted down by the council too..dickheads. (sorry about the going off on one)
  7. looks like the cesar deal is a complete non starter and always was "Real Madrid veteran Cesar has made a public plea to join Liverpool, but the Reds are unlikely to react to his 'come and get me' message. Despite reports, they have made no offer to sign him. His name was mentioned in initial talks regarding striker Fernando Morientes, but was quickly dismissed as a potential makeweight." in the echo today.
  8. "I definitely sympathise with Liverpool fans, they've had it rough with Madrid dealings. There is no doubt there is a lot of underhandedness with regards to how Real Madrid conduct themselves in business dealings, I agree with that. Perez has the ethics of a snake, both in business and in his treatment of people. Whatever he thought of Queiroz, he should never have publicly questioned the man's integrity and ability. To Perez it really is about money money money, forget the people involved. Morientes has been treated very shabbily all because he didn't give up his number 9 shirt to Ronaldo when the latter joined. If I were Liverpool (have said this before) I would NOT go for Morientes and go for Anelka...spend that 500,000 on Scott Carson...Anelka also has a sell-on value, if a success at Liverpool, Liverpool will make money on any future transfer. Not the case with Morientes, as Morientes is 29 in a couple of months! And who knows, end of season, Morientes may still want a Liverpool move, ad will cost half the money! Wish Butragueno was president, Perez has destroyed Real Madrid's image to a lot of neutral fans who loved watching the team in the late 90s and early 2000s... " great post by a real madrid I read place else ,I think we sould take his advice myself .go for anelka is it carries on .
  9. I know its even worse in our case ,cos their shit ones aren't free ,they are actually used to bump up prices or make us feel better about selling oru star striker at such a rubbish price.
  10. by the looks of it liverpool asked for young real madrid keeper and they said no ,as soon as they mentioned gerrard we should have said no too ,end of ,and the negoiations for morientes would and should be clear cut ,its isn't tesco "buy one get a shit one we don't want free".
  11. to pay 4 to 5 million for a player who's 28 soon to be 29, who is cup tied and has served the club well is a reasonable price to sell him at. Most clubs wouldn't be arsed trying to squeeze an extra 1 or 2 million for the sake of it ,but what would real know about fair ,just or honest dealings ,nothing obviously ,haven't got any principles ,they are man u or chelsea of the spanish world by the looks of it and I really am starting to hate them. I mean for **cks sake they are only saying they want first dibs at gerrard to make us grateful at paying over the odds for 2 older players they don't want anyway. So we can say well at least we didn't give them first dibs at gerrard ,but does it strike anyone as strange ? that gerrard has nothing to do with a this deal at all ,shouldn't have even been mentioned.
  12. thats bad isn't it ,we sound amateurish in negoiations ,real madrid just do what they want, when they want and all in their time when they can be arsed coming off from holiday and we have to go along with it out of desperation . We need a striker ,benitez wants morientes and real madrid know this and already have lyon waiting in the wings ,yet again ,we are on the backfoot.Bloody annoying .
  13. I'm slight disappointed theres been no mention of "mentality" .
  14. yeah whatever he said ,I'm off to get a dictionary.
  15. how shitty is that ,we are in the last 16 of the champions league ,we have a decent draw and stand a good chance of reaching the last 8 and all the hacks want to do is ask about steven gerrard's future ,I'm fuckin sick of it not that I'm surprised ,I despise the newspapers in this country.
  16. and raffa's spiritual home is actually real madrid ,be a bit weird if after 5 years raffa went off to real madrid and mourinho went to liverpool ,thinking a bit far ahead though
  17. aye thats true ,I just don't know the exact number of irish contingents at all the acadamies ,my mistake. just usually when your homesick ,you go home .
  18. seems a bit weird to me, leaves us cos he's homesick and then ends up training with ipswich???
  19. theres no way raffa would have given the sun there own interview ,any quotes on the S*N will be available to all I woul think.
  20. his money will run out quickly and then we migth regret it if he gets in. :thumbdown
  21. aye he abstained ,so in other words he's in favour ,he knows noone except evertonians manybe would be on his side if he voted in favour of groundsharing ,also didn't he want a british manager in the first place? rick parry clearly doesn't want groundsharing and it was rick parry who had reservations about curbishley thank god.
  22. not tempting for me ,no point making quick decisions cos morgan is wafting some money under our noses, this is about the long term future of the club. I just worry about what type of chairman he would be ,I have a feeling we would hear far more of him than we ever have of moores, last thing we need is a personality clash at the top with a headstrong but quiet manager and and a chairman with an ego ,isn't that the type of situation raffa left at valencia?
  23. "This last 12 months has not been easy. It's been unbearable. I haven't slept and my family - it's difficult for them," Moores told the English Premier League club's annual general meeting today. "I have to consider my options. I love the club, but clearly that's not enough. I can't compete with Mr Morgan's millions," he added. Moores, who owns a 51 percent stake in Liverpool, was referring to businessman Steve Morgan, who told the meeting that he had made a fourth bid to invest £70 million ($174m) in the club. "There is an offer on the table," said Morgan. "And the money can be in the bank by Christmas
