If you say so! Meant to Be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7rSwbNUnEE Cup of Tea Live version of A House is not a Motel. Did it much better on Friday. Not sure these will do them justice tho - if you havent got any albums then do it. Better than Arcade Fire imo who people are wanking over in a different thread (think Arcade Fire are decent by the way but a bit overhyped - maybe its just not my thing!)

Goddam you all - I want to talk about the Shack gig. Surely someone was there?!
  3. Dont think anyone including Rafa ever thought he was. He obviously felt that with all the injuries and Masch struggling that he should bring on a defensive minded player rather than Babel who was the only other option. Not too sure what else you think he could have done

    Hammill

Was really looking for some update on his situation rather than a judgement but thanks for joining in!
  5. Out for 3 weeks say Sky - torn abductor muscle
  6. Apologies if this is going over old ground but what the fuck has happened to him? Keep checking Southampton team and he never seems to play. Last I heard he'd had a bust up with Burley. If thats true and he's not going to play surely, he's best back at Melwood playing in the ressies. Was really hoping he'd make an impact there this season and come back next summer ready to fight for a place in the side. Hope this doesnt set him back. Anyone know any more?

Anyone go to see them last night. Fucking brilliant gig. Thats about the 6th time I've seen them and they've not been better than last night. That Love track they finished with is amazing
  8. Agree, I thought Plessis was awful - not a footballer. Liked the look of El Zhar in the first half especially. First time I've seen Martin Kelly as well and he looked decent
  9. Last season it was cos Gerrard wasnt playing in the middle - now he is and playing poorly (over the last 5 games - not suggesting he shouldn't be playing there) so the media have to pick on something new. Couple of weeks ago we were doing bad cos he rested Gerrard and Torres. Now they both played vs Marseille and Spurs and, Torres goal vs Spurs apart, they were both at best average in both. So it has to be something new. Standard of football media in this country is pathetic. Much as I love Carra and Hyypia - surely they deserved more stick than Rafa at the weekend for putting in a shocking performance. Surely Gerrard and Riise should be getting slated in the media more than Rafa for their displays. Fed up of the manager being blamed all the time. These people who slate him for rotation would presumably have played Kuyt on Sunday rather than Voronin (Tony Gale said as much on Sky) yet as far as I can see Voro was by far our best player. ITS NOT ALWAYS THE MANAGER'S FAULT IF THE PLAYERS AREN'T PERFORMING!

    Nice one - thanks mate
  12. Whereabouts do you live mate? My mum and dad live bout half an hour from Marseille and I love the lifestyle over there. Spent two weeks there last month and drank all day every day but never got drunk - just did it slowly through the day. Beer, then pastis, then wine and then Jack Daniels. Amazing
  13. Are we on any of the dodgy foreign TV channels?!
  14. I like any player who looks a bit like Patrik Berger
  15. Do we really need a new centre back tho?! Or at some point, can we not try and bring through one of the thousands of young ones that we've brought in over the last few years. Mate of mine has seen Antwi a few times for Hartlepool and was really impressed. Hobbs seems to be pretty decent. Dont see how the point in having them if we're always going to buy in more experienced players, especially if they're only cover fo Carra and Agger and have Sami to learn from
  16. I was there last night as well. Agree with pretty much all of that. Thought Spearing was very good, tho any time it was a battle of body strength against Musampa he was struggling - not much he can do about that. He was quicker to the ball than Musampa tho and his passing was excellent whether short or long. Would love to see him get a game against Cardiff. Unlikely tho I'd imagine as you would guess Leiva will start and Rafa will prob want someone more experienced alongside him.
  17. My first maximum: Last match Opponents: Porto Your score: 11 (For past scores and teams see your My scores and My teams pages) Rafa's team: 25. Reina 3. Finnan 4. Hyypia 17. Arbeloa 23. Carragher 8. Gerrard 16. Pennant 20. Mascherano 9. Torres 18. Kuyt 19. Babel Your team: 25. Reina 3. Finnan 4. Hyypia 17. Arbeloa 23. Carragher 8. Gerrard 16. Pennant 20. Mascherano 9. Torres 18. Kuyt 19. Babel
  18. Fletcher really isnt that bad. Not saying he's a world beater or anything but he would improve most sides in the Prem. Great cross for the first goal against Lithuania on Saturday
  19. Unbelievable! As a Scotland fan, that was a hard game to watch but what an effort they put in. Cant believe we're top of that group!
  20. Have I missed something? I thought Athletico didnt get into Europe. Did they go in the Intertoto? Would be great to go and support him at Goodison tho wouldnt it?!
  21. Dont necessarily disagree with the broad point but dont take the Daily Mail's figures to heart too much. They have a history of wildly exaggerating these sorts of figures to twist their pathetic little agendas
  22. Would love to agree with you but cant believe he's that stupid that he cant just ignore those kind of questions and talk about the team. Love the guy as a player and keep thinking at times that I'm too harsh on him, and then he does an interview like that where to be honest, I thought he came across as arrogant and as if he only gives a fuck about himself. Maybe I am too harsh - I dont know. Think we can all agree that Styles is a cock tho!
  23. Agreed. Dont want to get involved in another discussion about Gerrard's attitude but he's brought this one on himself. Fucking stupid thing to say at a time when we have just had a really positive perfrmance. He's got to learn that being the captain has extra responsibilites other than just playing well and he should be building team unity not giving the press a perfect opportunity to write about a rift at Anfield
  24. That book sounds really good. Favourite Scorcese film? I am a big fan of Mean Streets - think that'd be hard to beat
  25. Good interview with him in the Observer today. Always loved his films and realised why reading it today. He's the film equivalent of the Stones. Not so much what is going on in the film/music, its that atmosphere they both create. Interesting to read him talk about how much their music influenced his film making, tho I should have realised it by the amount of times they are on his soundtracks. Really looking forward to the documentary he's made on them - if its anything like the one he did on Dylan, its gonna be great
