  1. Are you serious? You'd have brought Aquilani on for Bennie?
  2. His 'poor tactics and team selections'? Does this mean that if he had chosen different tactics and different team line-ups we would have done better?
  3. Is this Anny Road from YNWA?
  4. Tuskers? Are you a Kenyan-Newfie? :D Would be my pleasure, mate ....
  5. I took the article at face value and I know that "sleeping pills" generally refers to tranquilizers that lead to a chenical dependency and grogginess. And you must admit Alonso hasn't looked himself for over a month.
  6. No idea. This article is the first I've heard of it.
  7. Well, sometimes melatonin, a natural hormone, is referred to as a 'sleeping pill'. However, generally, the term is used for benzodiazepines and barbiturates, neither of which have any place in the body of a professional athlete, short-term or otherwise. It's a misnomer to call them sleeping pills . . . they put you into a drug-induced stupor rather than promoting restful sleep.
  8. What the hell is Rafa doing giving our squad "sleeping pills"? The man may be a genius in every other respect, but getting our playmaker addicted to benzodiazepines is incredibly stupid. These drugs should be banned, not encouraged. What next, put our players on morphine every time they feel a twinge?
  9. If Eriksson is involved he is not going to last until the World Cup.
  10. Just a gut feeling, but I think missing out on the CL is messing with Moro's head somewhat.
  11. And to think I was defending this joker as probably a naive foreign student! An immature English git, more like. He may be Ahmed but he sure ain't Loaded.
  12. It baffles me how anyone can say Welsh is of a similar quality to Barton. A lad who's played about 30 minutes of Premiership football is in the same class as a proven Premiership player (a player that many City fans rate as their 'most important'). But OF COURSE Welsh is as good as him - he just hasn't had the opportunity to show it yet. Fantasy thinking at its finest.
  13. Alright, forget the Victor Mature, Rigobert Righteous will do just as well The Yukon? Mackenzie pipeline? Great Slave Lake? What's that? The only places I know in BC are the West End, Gastown and Whistler. Is there anywhere else? RR
  14. Sorry, lads It seemed pretty obvious to me this was a foreign student with limited proficiency in English just trying to participate in a forum and generally adjusting to life in a new country. I couldn't see any reason for attacking him. Could be there's been miscommunication on this one. You can call me Victor Mature but just make sure you pronounce it the American way ('matoor') ;)
  15. Dr. A please ignore these people. They're not representative of this board. Every Liverpool supporter is welcome to join regardless of their English skills or how long they've been a supporter. The only way you'll get to learn what we're about is by participating. So do keep posting. I also recommend joining other Liverpool forums to get a broader sense of what Liverpool fans are all about.
  16. We can not only draw Chelsea we can BEAT 'em!
  17. Playing devil's advocate, wasn't Owen questioning the club's ambition (and hence the quality of his team-mates) for a long time?
  18. An obvious misunderstanding results when we use phrases like "put in plenty of his own money". To some on here (not you Tim) this means making what is in essence a donation to the club. No-one makes "donations" to corporations except in extreme circumstances (e.g., when Leicester were facing administration two or three years ago and former players, including Heskey, donated money to a 'Save Leicester' fund.) Apart from this there is always a quid pro quo in financial dealings with a corporation. In Moore's case he took a risk underwriting the new share issue. He may have lost a fair bit if things had turned belly-up. But they didn't and he is in line to make a handsome return on his investment. But to say he 'put his own money' into the club is like saying our creditors put 'their own money' into the club. They took a risk and there's an expectation of repayment with interest. No real difference from Moores. I think in an ideal world we would find new owership which - in addition to having every other right quality - has the resources to make a large, interest-free loan with a flexible payment schedule. Alternatively, we ask Roman to donate £50 million to our coffers!
  19. Five years is a long time to nurse a monkey. Aren't they usually weaned at about 3 months?
  20. You're right. When I was reading your diatribes about disgraceful and pitiful performances I failed to take the logical step and infer that you meant we are certain to finish above Middlesborough, Bolton, Charlton, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle. I won't make that mistake again  We are about as likely to finish outside Europe right now as we are to get the fourth Champions' League spot. The next ten games will tell (I"m auditioning to take over from Ron Atkinson)
