The game was shown in full (delayed) here in NZ. Thought we actually played quite well. Never quite hit top gear but if St. Michael was fully fit and Harry K had his shooting boots on we could have won by 4 or 5 easy. I was suprised (I know I shouldn't be) as I read all of Fleet Street's finest saying we were a bit spawny. Yes the goal was, but we bossed the rest of the game. Scores on the doors... Jones - Boyhood Red makes debut at nearly 37. There is still a faint glimmer of hope for me yet although I will have to do extra post christmas training along with Molby and Ruddock. ;) . Great save from Vassell though. 7/10 Henchoz - Quality. That mazy run out of the back was top drawer. 8/10 Biscan - Ok but another mistake. Henry would have put that one away. 6/10 Hyppia - Decent without being spectacular. 7/10 Riise - Ok but still a long way short of his barnstorming best of old. 6/10 Diouf - First half ok. Second half took the piss and m.o.m. just for the flick over the full backs head. If he could cross a ball... 8.5/10 Murphy - Below par. Got a toe in quite a few times but disribution was poor. 6/10 Hamann - The real Guvnor. Just does it without mouthing off. Had a few decent shots as well today. 8/10 Kewell - Will have to get on the blower to his Aussie mate Craig Johnstone for new pair of Predator because his boots today must have been borrowed from Johnny Wilkinson. 7/10 Owen - If he was fit would have got 2 but still good to have him back. 7/10 H***k*y - Another decent game I thought. Worked hard put himself about and did some good stuff. A first time layoff in the first half reminded me of Rushy. 7.5/10 Pongolle - Poor ball stopped Harry getting a a clear run on goal. 6.5/10 Cheyrou - Nice run to tee up Harry. 7/10. :biggrin:

Barca got beat 5-1 by Malaga tonight and currently lie 12th. There is no way Owen will go there unless they dramatically improve. Suppose you could say the same about him staying with us.

Strength in depth or should I say lack of is costing us dearly. When we have got our best 11 playing we are decent and can give anybody a game. Below those 11 we are simply not good enough. Compare us to Arsenal. They played half their youth team last night and still won. In the prem the other week they had half a team suspended or injured and still won. With us we have players of supposed international quality in reserve and we cant beat a Bolton team who had 6 players missing. :wallbutt:

Agree with most of what has been said about RF but can help feeling that he played a big part in hos own downfall. Look at another example. Gascoigne and Shearer both had the same knee injuries. Shearer is as good as ever and Gascoigne went downhill fast. Please dont let Anelka go to Man U!
