  1. The only issue I have with that Neville article is that it wasn't written by someone associated with Liverpool as depending on the author it may have had a lot more potency.
  2. I think every one of those players complained about how the club dealt with their leaving, some wrote letters to the supporters to explain their side. Suarez complained the year before, and if Sterling doesn't go for another 12 months it won't make his current complaints any less real.I'm not saying any of those players didn't want to leave, nor that some of the fault wasn't their own, but there's certainly a pattern.
  3. I'm sure that would be a productive meeting, two gobshites in the room.
  4. We threw a 19/20 year old under the bus. Unfortunately for those running the club, and us long suffering supporters, that 20 year old is in a stronger position than given credit for and has a gobshite for an agent. Sterling himself might be a dick, I dunno, but the club has messed up big time.
  5. Torres, Alonso, Mascherano, Reina, and Suarez to an extent were all demonised by the club prior to, and some in the aftermath of, them leaving. We're a selling club, and those running the club are acting in the typical way of any selling club, put a black mark over the player, lay the blame at their door in the hope of disguising the unpalatable but simple fact that we are a selling club.
  6. I think I've worked out my issue with the current series. It seems to me that so far, certainly up to the end of episode four, they tried to over dramatise too many scenes, many perhaps cut short to give a cliff hanger feel. It's not as rounded, previous series had plenty of room for slow scenes, ones filled with dialogue that appeared to go nowhere or serve no apparent purpose. There's a lot less of that this year, it's all been a bit "forced" and I can only think it's due to the source material being less interesting so they've had to jazz up the TV show, but I think they've misjudged it a bit, the balance is off. Also there's some scenes that the writers have not done enough with, for example no scene with Arya and Jaqen should ever be dull but a couple of them have been just that.
  7. Well seeing as though my initial response was to the post that basically suggested Sterling will flop, we'll replace him with someone world class and our young players will learn a valuable lesson for the future my point still stands. Wishful thinking.
  8. Fucking hell just bring back Downing and Carroll, and while we're at it make Borini a regular. Is Aspas still on our books?
  9. We all dream of a team of Danny Ings...and Adam Lallana's...and Nabil El Zhar's.
  10. Reading Boss's post again there's a ridiculous amount of wishful thinking (especially the bit about replacing Sterling with someone world class) so I'm wondering now if it was actually wrote with a hint of sarcasm. (edit, explained in the post by Boss above, still wishful thinkin)
  11. Moaning, perhaps not as no one likes to be seen as a moaner when things are going well. But if things were going well and we were still having this trouble with players contracts then I've no doubt people would be asking questions about those at the top of the club, FSG included. A bit like last summer when things were rosy but Suarez was on his way out, plenty of people were still questioning how that situation was handled by the club.
  12. While that's not an impossibility I think there's a bit of wishful thinking going on there.
  13. No it's not. And things in football have changed further since FSG took over. What seemed right for us then isn't necessarily right for us now. I don't expect them to stump up money they don't have, I do expect them, while they're here, to behave in a manner befitting LFC and recognise they aren't appropriate owners for a club of our stature in the current climate and move on if an appropriate owner becomes available, recognise their limitations and sell us at a fair price. ps, net spend is not bollocks, it wasn't then and it isn't now.
  14. He's worth whatever someone is willing to pay him. We have unambitious owners, hence Rodgers, hence trying to sign and keep players on the cheap. In all this Sterling (and Henderson before him) contract mess, let's not forget the number of new players we've missed out on signing under this regime, always a similar theme, low ball transfer fee or wage offer.
  15. I'm past caring whether Sterling leaves, and have little care for who we replace him with. Let's face it if we sign someone who goes on to be great for us we'll just sell him, as we will Ibe and Coutinho. People should face facts, we are a selling club and could argue we have been for a number of years. And now that we'll sell one of the best 20 year olds in world football, however badly he may have handled the situation the club has handled it worse, our status is confirmed. We will be a selling club at least until we no longer have American owners (they're all the same), and I hate to say it but if we want to complete over the long term we need proper money.
  16. Enjoyed last night's episode more than any other this series. It's not that it's been slow, Game of Thrones always is, it just seemed like episodes 1-4 were a bit forced and the pace felt completely off, too rushed almost. Last night's I thought was back to form, especially the last scene both visually and the dialogue.
  17. Is it possible the LD lost votes have not gone directly to the Tories, instead the vote may have shifted around?
  18. Fucking hell, can you imagine them going into a coalition with a measly 10 seats? What would be the point, what would be in it for them ? They've already dug their own grave the last 5 years, if they go into a coalition with the Tories again with even less of an influence this time surely it would finish them.
  19. I think a minority Conservative government would be much less stable than a minority Labour government.
  20. A Tory led coalition? Out of interest how do you think this will be made up? As the result seems to close to call I've voted with my heart while, I think, retaining a little sense of reality.
  21. Will the SNP be able to make demands if they are not part of the Government? Or are your suggesting they'll threaten to continually vote against a Labour minority government? I don't think their own supporters, and their pledge to keep the Tories out, would allow them to get away with the latter.
  22. Maybe I'm missing something, or being naive, so please correct me if I'm wrong. But surely there doesn't have to be any "deal", Labour just have to "be"? If legislation regularly passes can there be a vote of no confidence put forward? And if Labour and SNP each get the numbers then surely, in the main, legislation will pass as they broadly agree on most things? In theory. Obviously this could be scuppered if the media attempt to press home their right wing agenda Friday onwards, or of course if the SNP see their arses and continually vote against Labour, but that would risk them doing much more harm than good.
  23. Exactly. It's hard to imagine there being a vote of no confidence in a Labour minority government as getting legislation passed, in the main, should not be a major issue considering the Labour and SNP manifestos are what, 85% alike. Maybe Miliband had played a blinder, outright rejecting a formal coalition knowing that the SNP would agree with Labour policy anyway, in theory.
  24. Do you believe you now fit the Conservative's mould? And what about the other candidates in your area, have they all turned up one week before the election?
