  1. By far. I doubt there are many teenage goalkeepers as good as Gulacsi. Rafa should promote him to second choice GK next season. Bouzanis has potential though, and he actually reminds me a bit of Pepe Reina.
  2. Gulacsi, Irwin, Mavinga, Ayala, Palsson, Pacheco, El Zhar, Amoo, Dalla Valle, Plessis, Bruna Subs: Køhlert, Oldfield, Cooper, Brouwer, N'Gog A bit late :) N'Gog will play the second half. El Zhar will only play the first half.
  3. Beardsley (obviously the biggest mistake), Sami and Sissoko for me.
  4. I don't think he'll get anywhere with Man U. Macheda, King, Morrison and Welbeck are all ahead of him, and then there is Rooney, Berbatov, Diouf and Owen... Most United supporters also rate Keane as a better player than Cofie.
  5. Connor Roberts-Nurse (who started the season as the U16 captain) played for their U18 side yesterday (2-2 vs Crewe)... Anyone who knows why?
  6. Match report from his last game as a QPR-player: Independent R’s » QPR U18 (1) – Brighton & Hove Albion U18 (1)
  7. He's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is, and he's probably one of the most selfish players to ever play for Liverpool. LDV and Amoo are, for me at least, much better players.
  8. Young players need to be challenged to perform outside of their comfort zone. Take Andre Wisdom as an example; why doesn't he play for the reserves? Way to many Liverpool youngsters stagnate from the age of 16-17.
  9. He's born 8.12.1994 so does qualify for the U16 team next season. Hopefully there will be a few more signings as well... I really liked Rico Gomes, who played for the Stoke u18 team that won 4-0 vs. Liverpool. He's just 15 years old, but still looked their best player.
  10. Andre Wisdom will make it if he wants it enough... Probably not as a central defender, but I've really high hopes for him as a midfielder (or as a right back). He's by far the biggest talent in the U18 side, and he should get games at a higher level now (reserves).
  11. U18, but most of the players are much younger (Ihiekwie, Clair and Giglio were the oldest players, and they are U17). Liam Jacob (the goalkeeper) is U15. They were beaten by a strong and physical side, but I thought they did ok (Giglio and Ihiekwie looked very poor though). Who was the Liverpool number 12 btw? He looked 6ft5, and with massive physique as well.
  12. Buchtmann is a quality player, as shown by his performances for Germany in the U17 EC. I can only think of one player in the PL who is born in 1992 or later, and that is Jack Wilshere. Even though Buchtmann isn't ready to play in the PL yet, he's still one of the most promising players in Europe (which is why he was voted into the top 10 MVP-list after the EC).
  13. El Athletic de Bilbao abordará ya el fichaje de San José Seems like Athletic Bilbao have decided to sign Mikel San Jose for €4 million.
  14. He'll probably sign for Liverpool as a bosman player....
  15. John McMahon recently said that Mavinga's best position is as a left back. Personally I think he's too small to make it as a centre-back in the PL.
  16. Moses could be a terrific signing. He can play on either wing, or as a striker, and has the talent to become a major player. Him and Delfouenso, for me, are the two best players in the England U19 setup. I've always rated Ben Arfa, and I think he could be another Anelka (mature enough to realise his true potential). I'd really like Rafa to sign Turan though....
  17. He's always been a skillful player, though sometimes he's made mistakes when put under pressure. I really think he can become outstanding, either as a right back or as a midfielder (Essien-esque), and he should be a regular for the reserves already.
  18. He's quicker than Berbatov, but there are similarities in his playing style (hold up play, movement, aerial strength, first touch and skill). I've got high hopes for him, and I think he's the perfect second choice striker. If Rafa's looking to buy another striker, I'd prefer if it was another youngster (such as Lukaku, Caistagnos et al). The big money should be used to get a winger and a central defender (and perhaps a left back).
  19. I think he's developing quite nicely. He'll be a top quality player within a year or so. He reminds me a bit of a young Berbatov.
  20. I've never rated Skrtel, and even when he had the occasional decent game his faults were evident. He's a poor man marker, he makes too many free kicks (rash tackles, shirt pulling) and he's a liability in the air. Liverpool really need another defender, as well as Kelly and Ayala stepping up over the next year or so (hopefully Mavinga will make it as well, but if he does it will probably be as a left back). I'm not sure if Simon Kjaer would be the solution though. A young Sol Campbell-esque player is what I'm hoping for.
  21. Carragher - Skrtel - Kyrgiakos - Insua It's probably the worst back four Liverpool have ever had.
  22. I don't think he had much of a chance of making it at Liverpool. Although he has a bit of skill, he lacks pace. To me Dawson always looked a poor copy of Adam Hammill (I rate Hammill btw). As for being one of the better players in his age group, I think it's fair to say that Jack Robinson, Andre Wisdom and Karl Clair are better players. When you then consider Suso, Christopher Buchtmann, Tony Brito Silva etc, and the fact that Dawson would be in direct competition with David Amoo, I can understand him leaving.
  23. There is much talk about Nemeth, but I think you'd struggle to name one or two teenage goalkeepers that are better than Peter Gulacsi. He doesn't get the credit his performances deserve (vs. Italy he made two world class saves, and was solid the rest of the time).
