  1. Of course, Neco is still young and Trent has set such a high standard, it'll be unfair to expect similar quality from him. He still has time to improve and hopefully does so. The problem at the moment is Neco hasn't showed signs of progress since he got into the team. I reckon a large proportion of the 27 times he lost possession was caused by taking too many touches on the ball in his own half, trying to beat a man. Atlanta definitely did their homework on him based on that. It has been a very noticeable thing. Rather than his teammates being blamed for passing him the ball, the focus should be on the young lad learning to keep it simple at the back. Rhys Williams is an example of a young lad keeping it simple with his passing at the back. 1 or 2 touch maximum, straight to a teammate.
  2. Far too much analysis and whinging based on tonight's result. Klopp gambled. It didn't work. Did I like that he gambled? Not really. Do I understand why he gambled? Yes. We are still in a great position to go through. Yes, it would have been lovely to qualify with 2 games to spare, but we rarely do so in the CL. Onwards to Brighton. That's the more important game.
  3. Need a bit more guile in midfield. Can't seem to get any creativity going through there. Can't just keep hoofing it down the channels hoping to outrun them all the time. Our passing has been a bit sloppy overall. Anytime Neco gets passed the ball, Atlanta close him down very quickly. They know he loves a touch too many and can get the ball pinched off him. Would move Milner to RB. Throw Minamino in as a number 8. And Firmino for Origi.
  4. Hope so. Would be the best position to play him. His best games have come through playing in the middle upfront. Has far too many shite games when playing from the left.
  5. That's my main issue with Neco too. He takes far too many touches when he is on the ball in our own half. Often, it's because he feels the need to beat an opponent before passing it. He really should learn to keep things simple in our own half.
  6. That was a cowardly display by Leicester in the first half. Considering the number of key players we are missing, this was a chance for them to show some intent. And if they do suddenly decide they want to be braver in the 2nd half, we have real pace to hurt them on the counter. Good position we've gotten ourselves in.
  7. And now he gives Man utd a penalty. Fucking cunt.
  8. And David Coote shows his incompetence once again in the Man Utd game tonight, allowing the VAR official convince him a definite penalty wasn't one.
  9. Coote being initially appointed for the Leicester game was an incredibly stupid decision. Hope the reversal of that decision was because we had a gentle word with Mike Riley at the PGMOL. Gentle words like "fuck Coote off and fuck you too, you incompetent cunt".
  10. Even if that is correct, then it means he had the virus before the wedding. And it is therefore likely that he infected other people at the wedding. Because we saw the video and pictures of him wearing no mask in a crowded location. Certainly irresponsible behaviour on his part.
  11. Yeah, it is such a daft thing to do. They could easily have had it the same way the wall was at Melwood. Paint both trophies next to each other and have '19' underneath. Simples.
  12. Maybe I'm just a fussy cunt about this but it is winding me up. Apparently, they would be going with a Champions Wall in Kirkby which would separately have "18" league titles and "1" Premier League title. I understand if they would like to separate it for display purposes (as seen in the picture). Even at that, just build a bigger podium to sit both trophies on. And label it 19, simple. On a wall, they really should have "19 league titles" the way they had it at Melwood. Doing this now just seems we are giving in to what rival fans were saying. "Oooh, Liverpool have won only one PL trophy. You are same level as Blackburn". Fuck off.
  13. Read that City have missed 6 out of their last 10 penalties in the Premier League. So we really can't underestimate the importance of having someone like Salah who consistently sticks them away for us.
  14. My first inclination would be to put Gomez, Milner or Hendo at right back. But I also think Neco might be fine there for those games. He just needs to keep things simple. It wasn't working when he was taking too many touches and trying complicated stuff the last few games he started as right back. He should follow the example of Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams. Do nothing too fancy. Focus on defending properly.
  15. The foul (or non-foul) on Sterling really is inconsequential to Mane being fouled almost a minute later, imho. It's not like we went up the pitch right away to immediately get the penalty in the same phase of play. City won the ball twice after the initial incident, effectively meaning there were 3 different phases of play. Of course, their players were going to whinge over it but doing so was straw-clutching at its finest.
  16. Forgot to add "but, but he makes us nervous when he takes penalties, his run up is weird". Missed only one in 15 now. Excluding all the other ones he has scored in penalty shootouts.
  17. They spent far too many minutes in the Skysports studio analysing the supposed foul on Sterling in the lead up to our penalty. The Sterling incident occured over 40 seconds before Mane got fouled and there were 3 different phases of play, because Man City won the ball twice in that period. It was daft for Sky to drum up controversy based on that. This wasn't a situation like the Origi foul at Old Trafford last season in which United went directly up the other end of the pitch and scored against us in a single phase of play.
  18. Wasnt a 4231 today. It was mostly a 442. I do agree that our track record with 433 is far more successful. And Klopp would have to make a big call and drop Bobby out of the first team for now. A front 3 of Jota, Salah and Mane is fluid and full of goal threat.
  19. Bahahaha.. Roy Keane going in hard on Walker. "Well, he gave the penalty away because he is an idiot".
  20. They're fucking rattled here. Get a quick 2nd and they'll fall to pieces.
  21. Think Klopp might be pulling a surprise by playing Bobby as an 8 today. Reckon it would still be our normal 433 shape. Jota up top with Salah and Mane either side. Dont think we are going to be risking playing 2 in midfield all game vs City.
  22. Great to see Everton a goal down. Fully expecting a detailed MOTD analysis of the "dive" by Wilson to win the penalty.
  23. My understanding of calling something a "dive" is when there is basically no contact and a player flings himself down. Or if a player initiates contact and then goes down. In this case, I'll say Salah "made the most" of what was a genuine foul. He did get kicked on the ankle, so it's a foul and not a dive imo. We have had numerous cases of refs turning blind eyes when our players get pulled, dragged, and kicked in the box. Great to have this one called in our favour.
  24. Yes indeed. We need a player with that level of creativity and guile consistently when we are playing teams who are parking the bus.
