  1. Absolutely, but then if we historically look at the Premier League, we haven’t been in Title fights until Jurgen came along, so we’re not used to getting close and losing until recently. 2014 was the exception. Prior to that, Rafa had us there or there abouts for top four. We had good runs in the CL. Going back further, to the late 70s and 80s, more often than not, if we challenged for the Title, we won it. We were THAT dominant. I guess what I’m trying to say, is, what’s better: challenging for Titles repeatedly and losing, or consistently hitting the bar of top 4-5 but never being in an elite challenge? Sailing a Mill Pond or negotiating Cape Horn? The pain of losing can outweigh the excitement and adrenalin of the challenge sometimes. If I’d walked off the pitch at Old Trafford, my bitter rival having just landed a knock out blow to put me and my team mates out of the FA Cup Semi Final, I would be not just gutted, but utterly devastated. I suspect Jurgen’s teams play emotional football, more than anything else. Picking yourself up after that, knowing you should have won and won overwhelmingly, well, it’s fucking tough. We’re hurting, so imagine what the players are going through.
  2. I think its fair to say the midfield engine petered out- a combination of lack of Prem fitness (szobo + Grav) and injuries (Macca, Szobo, Bajcetic, Grav? etc) Again, injuries in defence, and an injury to Mo and the obvious long term issues with Jota. Even Alison out for an age. We went most of the way. We took the fight to 5 games out. The players gave their all. We won silverware and WHAT a final -toe to toe with Chelsea, cheating officials - but it was a glory day. On reflection, I can’t be mad for long when it comes to the players. We’ve even been shown a glimpse of the future with the ‘kids on tour’ chat It’s been a remarkable transcendent experience with Jurgen at a time when the very game itself is under threat. We’ll never forget him, and he’ll never forget us, and that is the stuff of life.
  3. Nobody is talking about Arsenal shitting the bed last season. They went again. I fully expect these players (those on new contracts) to go again next season, with more experience of what it takes to compete in the Prem. Clearly now though, we need a new manager. These players are not playing for Klopp anymore.
  4. Sounds like the London Stadium is 1200 strong. 1000 of them are the travelling kop….oh fuck…..louder now they’ve scored
  5. If it was rugby, we’d have won the last 5 games by kicking 30 points.
  6. No support for Diaz. He’s just supposed to be beat 3 and slide it in the corner
  7. ‘Set pieces could be a problem for Liverpool’ No. Football is the problem.
  8. and cheese toasties for the squad in the canteen.
  9. The problem is the increasing pressure after each result. We needed to win at Old Toilet. We didn’t. Then the pressure is greater for the next game. The Palace result is absolutely connected to the United result. Win at Utd and we’d have been in a different mental space v Palace. We brought in new players who had no idea of the intensity of the Prem. Exception- MacAlister. But even he had to step up compared to Brighton’s schedules. Szobo, Grav, Cody all new to the shit arse rough & tumble ‘premier’ league. They’ll need another season to find season long fitness in multiple comps, inc the Prem. Champions League next season too
  10. basically, there IS zero point in all this. The game is a sham and it steals hard earned cash from street heroes.
  11. The parade should be seen as a farewell for Jurgen. End it at the Town Hall & give him the keys to the City. He broke the Premier Curse, and so much more.
  12. Not having wanking Arsenal anywhere near the Title. However, I don’t want the Manure getting their grubby hands on the FA Cup either…so it’s an Abu Dhabi Double I guess. Sheik Rattle & Roll
  13. one of our best eras. We have so many memories and I’ll be in tears the day Klopp leaves. It’s better to have loved and lost etc etc.
  14. Jota again injured, Gakpo unavailable. Jones has no rhythm because he’s in and out of the team as a squad player. He’s thinking, what do I have to do to secure a start? Was playing great but gets dropped as soon as the ‘stars’ are available. As the season grinds on its clear we have not upgraded midfield as well as we thought. Injuries change players. Szobo is now a completely different player. Macca up & down like a frigging yoyo. As for not starting Quansah, because Klopp rotates, when VVD plays every fucking game….I have no words. Endo was fit, too. Starting him & moving Macca up the pitch should have been the initial plan. So much was wrong tonight, but mainly, we’re burnt out. It’s a Klopp trait, but it’s not supposed to be Klopp.2 trait.
  15. football is mostly psychological. We’ve literally got to hang on for third now. Villa on a roll. The Klopp balloon is deflating and we’ve now got to land it safely. We’re gauranteed Champions League football next season, but if we don’t come thrird, it’ll look bad, and we need to attract more talent under the new manager. we are literally Arsenal of last season. Fading just like they did. On the contrary, they’ve stepped up enough and got a new head wind after two disappointing results. City, obviously favourites from here.
  16. Hard to watch, this. I will however, stick with it. They’ve earned that in the season from me.
