  1. True, mate. I do have a sneaking suspicion that Starmer might well be a bit more palatable to - to quote our Blue friends - the powers that be.
  2. I don't really get this 'how is Starmer going to win back the leave voting North' stuff. Well, if the implication is that he's a Southerner posho, then the answer is that they voted for Boris Johnson. If it's that he's remain, is the suggestion that Corbyn should be followed by a leave campaigner? As for somebody who mentioned about selling off the NHS should he win... not sure what that's even in consideration.
  3. Rico? Being an inflammatory cunt who says nothing of value and is out for a reaction? Wash your mouth out!
  4. I think winning teams generally do evolve. But you're absolutely right, Klopp is in charge of that - no matter if we 'let him;' or not, we don't have a say, just an opinion on what should happen. Fortunately for us, Klopp seems to have an idea about what to do.
  5. I'd say if we 'pulled a Countinho' where we sold Salah and got in two top players, let's say Werner and Sancho, I'd be pleased enough.
  6. What the fuck else are people supposed to moan about?! People can moan about our almost 30, which is only few years from retirement 27 year olds if they want. Leave ‘em be. They’ve been moaning for years, it’s a hard habit to break.
  7. Can’t even describe how much I’m enjoying this... https://www.redcafe.net/threads/maguires-persistent-ball-hogging.452394/page-4
  8. They’re absolutely ripping into him again on Redcafe. He was dreadful again, slow and cumbersome.
  9. What do you make of the end product considering he has dramatically more dribbles and successful dribbles than any other player? If you do 13 dribbles per game and 70% of them are successful, yet in 120+ top flight games you've got 5 goals, from those 1100 dribbles, doesn't it indicate both an issue with the quality of the dribble and the quality of the end product? Maybe, just maybe, he has had a bit of a purple patch - like so many dodgy players before - and it's not actually what he has done for the last 5 or 6 seasons. Maybe, as was true of Downing and Pennant with their 'way better than everyone else' stat that has been plucked out of nowhere out of context, it's just not that important when judging how good the player actually is. Here's what I think, if we bought him then he would be absolutely hated after 12 months because he would just run into dead ends and chose the wrong option time and time again. Now, maybe I'm wrong and the manager could turn him into a player who chooses the right options more often and makes better quality runs rather than just more of them, but I very much doubt it.
  10. I still question it. I don't question that he makes a lot of dribbles. I question that quantity indicates quality and that the quantity of dribbles indicates effectiveness as a player and is an indicator of overall ability. I think it's not. Out of interest, do you think that he's a better dribbler than Messi?
  11. As a marker of quality of a player, what do you think that proves? Quality, that is. Not quantity.
  12. You didn't take a step back and think about it, did you. You seem like an absolute prick, so I'm glad you're leaving it at that.
  13. What on Earth are you dribbling on about. Calm down and think about what you’re saying. If you’re intelligent - and I think you’re not particularly - then prove it by stopped for a second and thinking about what you’re saying. I do think he’s crap. I’m not pretending, it’s my view on him. You’re free to disagree and make an argument to the contrary, but your statements (which are really just you saying a thing and thinking it’s right because you said it - ipse dixit) have little credibility with me. He had a few moments against City that have been good and he finally produced something. I don’t think that’s any different than many wank players who have done good things in the past. I’m not jumping through any hoops, I’m being perfectly honest and saying I think he is shite, and I’m saying dribbling stats aren’t proof to the contrary. Now, before replying with some half-brained, cliched nonsense about foaming at the mouth, take two seconds to re-read your reply to make certain it’s coherent and cogent. It shouldn’t be tough for somebody as convinced of their own mental faculties as you seem to be.
  14. What a waste of 20 quid. You could have told me sooner, mate.
  15. Labour really needs somebody that understands that these things aren't just throw-away things that nobody cares about, they are a visual representation of the party and that he makes them look like a joke.
  16. You pretend to be smart all the time, you're just not very good at it. For example, nobody said anything about dribbling success being a metric of a winning team, you made that up. Purely on dribbling quality - rather than number of times you've kicked it aimlessly ahead of a defender and used your pace to get to the ball first - the stat is pretty useless, to the point where it puts you massively ahead of the likes of Messi. Anybody who wants to tell me that he's the best dribbler in the world seems like a pretty decent 'dribbler' themselves. He's fucking quick, that's about it. There's a reason why he has scored and assisted no more than a handful of times in 7 years - most of them during this purple patch - and it's because he's just not very good at making good dribbles at the right time in the right space and, more importantly, he's not very good at doing anything with it after he has made all those dribbles. Look, if you are dramatically better than Messi at dribbling and you've got 5 top league goals in 100 games from all your hundreds and hundreds of dribbles per season, then surely it might just indicate that he's not actually doing all lot with it. Bloody hell, man. This is the 'Stewart Downing has more completed crosses than any other player' thing all over again. Ah, it's whatever. We're very unlikely to get him, so it doesn't really matter.
  17. I was taking aim at the shit graph. Try thinking rather than getting offended. Go the whole hog and think about the importance of that stat in a holistic sense when judging a player. Here's credit: He can run. Fast.
  18. I personally enjoy looking at Sancho and Messi (not only the best player to have ever kicked a football, but probably the best dribbler too) so overshadowed by Traore. Wow, that guy must be so incredibly amazing.
  19. I don't think that'd be a great use of £65m. Still, if that's what they want then go for it.
