This would be a bold move for BR to drop Gerrard for Allen, the vision and set piece from Gerrard would be too much of a trade off for more pressing. Instead of Gerrard coming off the bench, i think Coutinho would be a better sub with his trickery and more due to lack of fitness. Midfield wise, i believe the key lays in Lucas's ability to control Ozil. This will not be easy but from his last match performance, it is possible.

I believe Liverpool will still start with the same line-up 3-5-2 as last week, maybe Enrique for Cissokho. Maybe taking of a defender for Coutinho when chasing the game.

What a great build up to the Arsenal game. So glad that Johnson was fine from what looks like to be an injury.

Sadly we are still seeing the 3 CBs in this game. The midfield problem is being looked at however at the expense of an attacker though

I would say Agger should be played just because of his ball-playing ability that will help the midfield a lot if 3-4-1-2 is the formation to go. None of the other 3 guys are that willing and comfortable to carry a ball into the midfield (Toure maybe).

Sticking with the back 3 might not be a great choice, but i would definitely wish to see how how the front 3 plays like when Coutinho is back. I am wondering why has BR not tried 4-4-2 diamond before, or a modified 4-3-3 that allows 2 striker to play up front at the same time instead of 1 has to constantly go wide to maintain width.

There is not really anyone that can be subbed in and expect to make a change with the current bench. Maybe Allen/Moses/Henderson/Alberto?Apas when they are available. But all those are not player with game changing quality at least for now

The attack will be fine when Coutinho comes back, just hope his form will not drop too much. The midfield has more concern at the moment. With only 2 of Lucas/Gerrard/Henderson, they just do not offer enough vision, energy and shielding I would say a 4-4-2 diamond would be a possible solution, with Lucas the DM, Gerrard and Hendersion the 2 CMs and Coutinho the AMC

This is a long one. And oh yes Alberto i almost forgot about him, he did seems to lift the game a bit after coming on. But bringing a pair of fresh legs against the tiring 10 men Newscastle, i would say anyone subbed on would have lift the game a bit.

To be honest, the Liverpool defence is petty good expect for the set piece. All the defenders has contributed some great last ditch tackle that could easily gone red.

For liverpool to be playing 2 CBs, i would say a DM is a must in those situation. However with Lucas out, I wont mind the 3 CBs. And yes international football...

I agree that we are losing control of the midfield, but i would suggest to play Agger in the defence. He is the more ball-playing centre back among all the CB and he also have the ability to be pushed up in the DM position when liverpool are desperate for another man in the midfield

i will still stick with the 3-4-1-2 for now since Coutinho is coming back next game (hopefully) ​He is definitely miles better than Moses in the no.10 position, I can't remember how many time he screwed up counter attack opportunity by running straight into the opposing defenders
