  1. I'm not trying to discredit Rodgers. I think he's proving to be a good choice as manager. With the system we are now playing the opposition full backs have freedom to attack space down the flanks which means our full backs have to get through a lot of work going up down the field, it results in a confusing should i stay back or push forward scenario. Our three centre backs are often marking one forward before they split, which slows up our play when we win the ball. The system imo negates the talents of Gerrard who's best performance came in an England shirt. Our midfield just hasn't been firing. The system we are playing is imo not working.
  2. It dos'nt address the need to swamp and win midfield at all. Do you think we won the midfield battle against southhampton or Newcastle ? What tends to happen is the oppositions extra central midfielders start dictating play so our two full backs, who should be pushing up to make a midfield five end up pushed back to cover our midfield. It leaves Gerrard in no mans land. Plus our fullbacks haven't the usual outlet of playing the ball forward to the wings. At the end of the day the proof is in the pudding and our recent performances suggest the system isn't working. The real test will come shortly when we play arsenal, and after watching their game against dortmund on Tuesday i wouldn't be surprised if thats the game that sees the system binned.
  3. Arsenals Carzorla on tactics and how arsenals midfield helps get the most out of their full backs. http://hereisthecity.com/2013/10/24/cazorla-talks-tactics-how-arsenal-get-their-width/
  4. That pictures fucking boss
  5. Unfair really tto laugh at em now fergusons gone, down the table, moyes the manager, stabbing each other in the back, http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DlseJvmiako
  6. Roy Keans mother giving interviews critical of fergurson now. It's great, like watching the fall of the Roman Empire. All the orgies, victories, drug taking, dodgy deals and woman beatings by giggs, Ferdinand, Keane and Ferguson and his sons are over. All that's left at Manchester utd is Kenneth Williams in the film carry on cleo running round shouting " infamy, infamy, they've all got it informe" http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kvs4bOMv5Xw
  7. Meaningless unless viewing the events in the game as a whole. More worrying is the bigger picture that Brendan said the squad we took to Newcastle is the strongest we've had all season. Our bench was.. Jones Agger Alberto Sterling Allen Kelly Flanagan Not one striker on the bench.
  8. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-would-bought-world-beater-2485387 Fucking Micky Phelan having a pop at moyes now. He must have forget they left poor moysie with Wilfred Zaha.
  9. Van rapist not in the utd squad, said he's injured again but with the dark nights drawing in probably wanted a bit of time to go out prowling.
  10. Sorry, didnt see the baseball thread, are the Red Sox a good bet at 8/13 on?
  11. Anyway here's the betting odds for anyone who fancies a late night punt http://www.oddschecker.com/baseball/mlb/world-series/winner
  12. Ok ok, live on Espn. 1.07? What a fucking stupid time to start a game of racketball. Why not 1am or 1.10 am?
  13. Not sure what time it's on though, and haven't really got a clue about the game but hope the win.
  14. I lived not far from there for a few years. The graveyard in aberfan is one eerie place. The row upon row of children's headstones is a heartbreaking sight which never leaves you. I always put the large support of Liverpool FC in the 60s 70s 80s down to Shanks and Bob coming from mining villages with socialist roots ( though i may be wrong). I suppose its telling that apparently its only the merseyside and south wales areas that the sun is not the best selling daily paper. It was not a place for conservatives in them days, i don't think they've ever elected a tory MP.
  15. I agree with this. It seems like we've changed to a back three simply to get as many of our summer defender signings into the team. The fluidity movement our midfield play is imo suffering as a consequence.
  16. " a back three of Skirts, Agger and Toure looks strong to me" quote its irrelevant how strong it looks if it means you surrender the middle of the park, as against ten man newcastle, southhampton etc. it gives the opposition to much room to play and nullifies the impact of Gerrard, who's best performance this past six weeks came in an England shirt.
  17. I agree with your last sentence but is the system used just to maximise the defenders bought? Not to say they are bad players/buys, sakho looks good, Toure has been great and Ilori on the one time ive seen him play, for the u21s looks a good prospect. And if Rodgers has changed the system simply to find a place in the team for these players does this show that the summer transfers have given the team an unbalanced look? Not sure i agree with the view that we've changed to three at the back to utilise the strengths of Enrique and Johnson, as we've continued with the three at the back system when both have been out of the side through injury.
  18. This post presents me with an open goal, Steve Googan plays the Alex Ferguson character http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5drObf8yWOc Back of the net.
  19. If we insist on playing three at the back imo agger must start. Let him drive out of defence to punch holes in the opposition midfield. The opposition midfield are finding us too easy to play against, Aggers the best ball carrying defender at the club, three at the back would probably suit him but he's not in the side. I wonder how much this three at the back exercise is in place to fit Brendan's summer signings into the team. The players look more confused by the system than me.
  20. Sahin played well tonight for dortmand
  21. Our transfer target mikytayn scores for dortmund
  22. Roy keane on itv just now " fergurson talks about loyalty but dosn't know the meaning of the word"
  23. Yep. Although i remember the same was said years ago about england and man city winger Peter Barnes, i think his manager Malcolm Allison tied weights to his neck in training to arch his back forward when he run. I don't think it did him much good though
  24. Keane's on itv 7.30 tonight, commentating on the arsenal game. I wonder if he gets asked about it?
