Not really no. He barely showed up last season, and hasn't done much this season at all. He has had two games in a row where he looked like a pub player, but he wasn't playing well before them either.

Very long slump. The problem with Johnson is he might able to be great but there's little point having a player capable of being excellent if he follows it up with 3-4 dire games. Arbeloa was better for us, as was Finnan, despite never having a game as good as Johnson's best ones.

Johnson was Brutal for much of last season. Most over-rated player I've seen in a Liverpool top.

It's pointless judging him now. Revisit it at the end of the season. 6th should be the absolute minimum, as it should have been last season too. Although the upwards turn in form from January onwards bought Brendan the credit in the bank. Any small clubs manager doing a better job than him, on a shoestring budget compared to ours simply shouldn't happen. Definitely not two years on the trot anyway after Moyses achieved that feat last season.

The mythical Welsh Xavi no doubt would. The reality that is Joe Allen wouldn't get near a midfield of Barry, McCarthy and Barkley. Even our own manager's take on him seems to have fallen someway. Preferring Henderson, Lucas and Gerrard.

It's not one bad game from Sterling though. A few flashes here and there aside, he's done nothing at senior level. People went over board when he tried to run at people with no end product at the start, the initial excitement was always going to wear off, leaving a winger with little end product. Time's still on his side but a club chasing European football isn't the place to be learning the game.

A big problem with our midfield right now is our water carrier needs carried. Hes not much use he is if he can't do his job and needs another defensive midfielder beside him against shite like Hull. Gerrard collecting the ball off the centre backs whilst Henderson or Allen plays off the striker continues. Either the manager hasn't got the stones to tell him he's not playing centre mid or he thinks this is a good idea. I'll let you decide which is worse. Far too many windows have passed now with this problem not being looked at. New players won't sort everything out either though, there's clearly tactical problems going on too. Johnson on his lazy days, which are becoming more and more numerous doesn't help Lucas's cause either.

Perhaps you should take a look at the starting line up of late and ask yourself is that £50m well spent.

If you complain when we win, you're told to shut up we just won. Complain after a defeat and it's kneejerk. We've only really performed well in a handful of games this season and the summer transfers look like a scattergun approach that has barely improved the team. We built up a nice amount of points despite not playing well but that can very quickly amount jack over the next month.

None of our wide players are anywhere near consistent or good enough to play for a champions league team. Except Coutinho but he's completely wasted out there. Bizarre transfer policy and shit signings have left us with a seriously mismatched squad.
