  1. With our record on players recovering from injuries this season I reckon he'll be back sometime in April.
  2. It's very sobering to think that our striking options for this game are Borini and Lambert.
  3. I find it hard to watch other footy when we are as shite as we are right now. It just rubs it in when you see brilliance, fight, goals etc.
  4. They create an atmosphere that is rarely seen from English crowds...atmosphere in our grounds these days is shite, too many people more interested in their camera phones and capturing the 'moments' rather than actually enjoying them.
  5. Mignolet Manquillo Toure Skrtel Moreno Can Henderson Allen Lallana Lambert Sterling
  6. Fair point. But i stand by my statement that at that point adding in an FA cup exit that for me it's game over if that is where we are.
  7. Even though he isn't a twat like Woy for me if he has us in the bottom half with no sign of things improving and hasn't led us to the last 16 of the European cup and progressed in the league cup come early January then I am sorry but at that point it's time to say ta-ra. This club should never be in that position and especially not after spending what we have. If that comes to pass then a new manager gets half a season to evaluate and stabilise us and a clear run at sorting us out for next season. That may not be popular but it is what I believe.
  8. A prime Maldini and Baresi would struggle to make a difference playing behind our midfield.
  9. Its blindingly obvious in my opinion - and it amazes me that he isn't all over it. The problem is though does he have the personnel to do anything about it - it is going to involve a tactical rethink and some changes in personnel for my money. I just cant see us winning games regularly until we stop teams from having wave after wave of runners at us and waltzing through us. Every bloody error we make seems to get punished too which isnt helping confidence. Migs kick that went straight out yesterday led to a goal - how many times would a team ordinarily get away with that? Of course dont make mistakes and you wont get punished, but it does seem uncanny that we inevitably get punished.
  10. Rodgers has to solve our biggest problem and for my money that is stopping teams from just constantly hitting us on the break. It's dead simple playing us - get men behind the ball and wait for us to make a bad pass or lose it and then just go at us either with pace or with a ball that cuts out our midfield. Every week teams run at us and through us after we lose the ball, we always look stretched, I don't see another team in the league who get stretched as often and as badly as we do so regularly. Teams just run past and though us. Even when we stop then it's often at the expense of a free kick or corner from which we concede regularly The other tactic is just to press us when we have it in our own half and make us go back to Mig who is just dogshite with his feet and then pressure the defender who has just received a bad pass from him. It's that simple, no big tactical masterclass and Rodgers is doing fuck all to stop it. Stop it and we can then get a hold in games and work out our attacking game. He sat down yesterday and listed what was wrong with us, I hope by 'too easy to play against' he was talking about the above, because until he sorts it we are fucked.
  11. Suarez made everybody around him better and more effective, creating space for them, offering them options, creating chances for them, forcing mistakes that they could profit from. Just winning the ball high up and then them being in an advanced position with defenders in trouble etc. His will to win and drive rubbed off on others. His influence can't be underestimated and without it we are much weaker. He allowed us to be on the front foot and opposition defences were scared shitless of him and this gave our other attackers extra space and as a team gave us an edge. Look at Raheem he linked with him so well and when he got the ball he knew Suarez would show for it and he knew that Suarez would feed him like against City, he looked to Suarez and it helped him learn and be more confident now he gets it and he looks for options and they aren't there... And he looks lost. All that said he is gone and it's up to others to step up, something that isn't happening at the moment. It's up to the manager to get us playing to a system that makes us effective with what we have and sadly he does not have the answer at the moment - I fear he may not have it full stop.
  12. Sakho was meant to be out for a couple of weeks according to an update on the club site dated 27/10. So a month later still no sign.
  13. And reverse back over him just to make sure
  14. Instill some fight, spirit and organisation. Remind the prima Donnas stealing a living who they are playing for. 4-3-1-2 as my preferred formation.
  15. As far as our defence goes, it would help greatly if they weren't constantly faced with wave after wave of players running at them after they have walked through our midfield or cut them out with one ball. How many times do we come under pressure straight from one of our attacks or a corner we have wasted...
  16. I omitted that it would be largely from the bench and at home. I do believe that he would be more effective up there though exploring tiring defenders and giving us a bit of intelligence up there, something we lack.
  17. 'palace have a simple game plan, concede possession and hit on the counter' Otherwise known as exactly what everybody does to us because of how easy we make it to do that to us.
  18. What is wrong with playing Stevie behind two strikers, he can link play very well. Is one of the best finishers at the club so will get goals up there and his frailties won't get exposed there. Have 3 across the middle, with two upfront, Gerrard working that space between midfield and attack. I honestly think we would be more solid and more threatening.
  19. Lambo had a header he should have done better with, a couple of shots from range from Gerrard and a couple of promising situations that died due to bad decisions or poor balls. Was about it.
  20. We just look totally devoid of ideas. It's chaos at the back, non existent in the middle and toothless up front. We are disorganised, lack spirit, lack fight and are easy to play against. Nearly every time we attack with numbers we instantly are straight under pressure at the other end after it breaks down - teams are just bypassing our midfield. Our midfield isn't linking with our attack and to beat us all teams have to do is run around a bit and get it forward quickly - its that easy. Our players look shell shocked, devoid of confidence and Sterling (our brightest young talent) looks lost. Our manager does not look like he has the answers, he persists with Gerrard as a DM despite it clearly not suiting him and despite teams running by him game after game. He persists on with one up front, we continually don't have bodies in the box, and the two wide forwards are peripheral and ineffective in the main game after game. All this has now gone on for a third of the season, yes he is missing his main striker and has lost our best player, but he also spent 120m in the summer and whilst players need time as it stands what we have bought has been very ineffective in the main so far. I am sure there is a hangover from last season, but a great motivator would use what happened to spur the team on to put it right this year, how much longer do we feel sorry for ourselves? It's Brendans job to instill belief, to foster spirit, to get us organised, to make the right decisions on who plays and where they play and it's his job to change it when it either isn't working or when the opposition have nullified us or are getting the better of us. He us failing in every department right now and he has players letting hin down - again he has to solve these problems and he has shown absolutely nothing so far this season to suggest he has the answers or even recognises what the questions are. Hodgson was a twat of the highest order and should never have been at our club, and he paid correctly for the shite he served up... Rodgers isn't Hodgson and has shown he has enough about him to deserve the opportunity to manage our great club, but I am now of the view that unless it changes fast that he may have reached the end of the road, and sadly he will have brought it on himself.
  21. Sadly, yes. It could be argued it's destroyed him, Rodgers and the whole team... It isn't his fault and it's such a shame that it happened but you can just see that after everything he has given and how close he was to leading us to such a triumph that it understandably has knocked the lad sideways
  22. Next 5 Stoke, Leicester, Sunderland - then the Mancs and arsenal.... I don't think it's OTT to suggest that if we dont win all the first 3 and then lose to the Mancs and arsenal that a decision has to be made....
