  1. He's bound to get injured and struggle for form as he tries to adjust to his new big club surroundings. That's how these things work.
  2. I watch far less football since I got back into cricket. I missed the Newcastle game because I had a match. I used to watch far more, including La Liga, but nowadays it's usually just us and the odd match involving one of our rivals, the odd CL game, el Classico, etc.
  3. No, he's definitely real. Ex Saints manager.
  4. Again as the thread starter i feel the need to justify my position:- -i'd never heard of him until we bid and don't give a shit what he did in France. I call this the "Djibril" doctrine and it has served me well; -i don't think anyone has written him off apart from one poster. Other than those who think he's the next Baresi i think most people want to see more of him before casting judgment.
  5. Phew! Thank God for that.
  6. That's football for you.
  7. Not sure whether that's partially directed at me but I'm definitely not writing him off - that would be silly. I haven't made a definitive judgment about Sakho. I'm not one to write off players quickly, and was one of the few who showed faith in Henderson from the start (and indeed our midfield as a whole).
  8. Plus we paid interest for late payment.
  9. £30m doesn't seem to get you much sometimes.
  10. People just have different views. Sometimes you have to face the music - even if you don't like the tune.
  11. Well deserved. The next challenge is to sort out the defence, improve our transfer record and convert great football into silverware.
  12. Farage is clever and knows how to tap into people with a strong sense of national pride; feelings driven by paranoia, fear and bigotry. The name of the party is a stroke of genius - it has "UK" in it, and "UKIP" sounds snappy. Farage is an expert at winning over the vote using lowest common denominator rhetoric and dubious soundbites/stats. I can't see how the millions of voters he has onside are going to change their views. If anything, I think the party will become more popular on the back of this success. I'm not saying it will be enough to win a general election, but I think they now have a solid foothold in the electorate and it won't just evaporate or go away, in my opinion. Section is right - abandon ship.
  13. I think UKIP are here to stay. There are millions of thick dickheads who think that UKIP represent them and their views.
  14. Double figures every season is what Hendo should aim for.
  15. All will be revealed, as Red Nick would say.
  16. He'll score a tap-in or set up a goal in pre-season, causing much excitement.
  17. My worry with this is maybe it's not something that's easy to acquire. More that it comes naturally to goalkeepers who are good at it?
  18. By dropping deep and picking the wrong pass? There must be a reason why Rodgers was switching haphazardly between Agger and Sakho, particularly when it came to the potentially title deciding Toon game on the last day.
