  1. I do hope you're right, Stronts. Literally. I am growing weary of everything he does being hailed as the workings of a grandmaster tactician who has no equal. On the other hand I like the Dutch team a lot so it is causing an inner conflict the likes have which have seldom been witnessed, I'm truly in bits here. Arjen Robben, RVP with his flying headers and Wesley S have lit up the World Cup. Throw a cheeky Dirk "Total Football" Kuyt cameo into the mix playing three positions in one game (as astutely spotted by Martin Keown in the Daily Mail, I know I know) and you have yourself one shexy team.
  2. Pretty football with no silverware is for Newcastle and Tottenham fans.
  3. Ah right. I guess transfer fees will come down then. Next you'll be telling me you've read a book about soccernomics, how they do it in Italy and ZZZzzzzzzZZZ...
  4. Did you turds not get my memo re: moaning about the cost of Southampton players?
  5. I don't understand why people get hung up on transfer fees and football finances in general. The game is awash with money and there's more of it with the new TV deal, ergo clubs such as Southampton are demanding high fees for their best players. Deal with it you whinging bunch of ballbags. It's also surprising how many Liverpool fans followed Southampton closely last season. Personally I was more absorbed by the title race but each to their own.
  6. Cheer up, dude. We've won plenty of trophies with worse players than Suarez. One player will never be more important than the team dynamic or the collective will of the club and its fans.
  7. Rock 'n' roll revolution is the only hope but you can't even jump the fence at Glastonbury anymore.
  8. ...all the long red lines that take control
  9. A star striker left and we won the champions league. It's a sign.

  11. We can save our hatred for a player who deserves it.
  12. Maybe both Coutinho and Lallana will be good for us this season, sometimes in the same game (or even the same move)?
  13. You don't know that. A ball hasn't been kicked yet. With CL footy we need extra bodies in the squad.
  14. Don't you think you're being a touch premature and melodramatic?
  15. I would hate for my bungholio to get polio.
  16. I still count that as Friday night. It's only Saturday once you wake up.
  17. The return of the Afghan Whigs. Now I much preferred the old line up, with the spooky slide guitar genius of Rick McCollum and the far superior drummer Steve Earle, but this new incarnation is pretty good too and anything Dulli related is usually worthwhile. The woman who presents this is a bit annoying to say the least but she means well and there are some interesting discussions. The drummer does annoy me a bit, though, I can't get past his lame style and beats. It takes the shine off the whole act a little for me as the tunes are gagging for something more interesting from man with the sticks.
  18. See what I did there? Eating. The grass. Not that type of grass. The Mafia and all that. Works on so many levels.
