  1. No surprise that every English player missed a penalty.
  2. What's all this Chelsea have also bid tonight for Salah stuff on Twitter? Another delay, another missed target? Shit will hit the fan if that is the case.
  3. The concern is when he keeps repeating the same mistakes, and does not stop the glaring issues in front of him. Everyone knew that Gerrard as a DM was a car crash waiting to happen yet he comes out publically saying this is the way forward. Will be hell of an about turn now, learning on the job with a club this big is one gamble we may pay for.
  4. Stick him right back or failing that the bench and select the midfield that outplayed Spurs & City.
  5. I could be wrong here but I am sure he played DM against the Mancs when Dirk got his hat-trick in 2011. Think it was the game he had several injections beforehand for his groin injury before he was out for the season. Seemed pretty controlled and disciplined in that game (probably as he could not run). Maybe therein lies the secret...
  6. Sissoko in the 2006 Cup Final as mentioned above was colossus when everyone else faded. Going back to one of our all time great performances, the 5-0 over Forest, one man who does not got mentioned is Nigel Spackman, he had a great spell when Whelan was out, epitomised in that game and you could tell how desperate the crowd were for him to score when he was charging through for our 5th but unselfishly squared it to Aldo.
  7. Totally agree, expect SOS to be at the forefront. I heard Peter Hooton on the radio a few weeks back, think they had him on to talk about Suarez but he was more concerned with FSG and their failings. This lot over promise and under deliver, the opposite of what they told us which is ironic in itself. Tuesday could be messy.
  8. You sense battle lines are being drawn, waiting for the shit storm next week. They have bitten off more than they can chew and want out. It is the only explanation.
  9. Moses on loan, so basically we haven't got a pot to piss in. Hope this is just a ploy to smoke someone else out, otherwise we have been bullshitted to once again by this ownership.
  10. Some rumours that there is (yawn) another Suarez story tonight....
  11. This was the summer that we could have closed the gap to the top 4. My question is where is the finance? New TV revenues, we are supposed to have 2 of the best kit supplier and sponsorship deals in football, we have trimmed the wage bill again. And we are left 11 days with the window to go, £6 million in the black, awaiting another PR letter from Henry saying how we tried. We should not swallow the bullshit anymore, what was it Werner said "we have the finances to compete with anyone in football". Well you have 11 days to prove it, otherwise no amount of open letters, interviews, a stadium leak or other charm offensives will wash and the mumblings of discontent echoed 12 months ago will reach a crescendo. Over to you FSG.
  12. I am fed up of listening to the PR nonsense that comes from our club, we love to talk but never follow it up. Have we really done everything we could for the 3 targets we blabbed to the press about. What is our strategy? Surely if we have a list of targets why leave it so late to upgrade our first 11. This summer was the only realistic opportunity to close the gap yet we are in the black for our transfer activity. The club need to pull some rabbits out of the hat asap, otherwise FSG have some serious questions to answer.
  13. Probably Suarez staying and signing a new contract (with a proper release clause).
  14. No if or buts the manager has cost us the game. The obsession with Allen will be the stick used to beat him tonight, and rightly so. An inability to change things a lot earlier another.
  15. The scary thing is everyone feared that selection before the game except the manager. The team is bigger than the individual, Rodgers needs to accept that at the moment Allen is at best a squad player. So frustrating when it is the manager that makes such an obviously poor decision.
  16. I don't think FSG will sack him having backed him to the tune of £20 million last month, but FSG could insist to Rodgers that a DOF will be appointed and exercise the "transfer committee" they were insisting on whilst searching for KD's replacement. Knowing he would not accept this BR would have no option to resign saving FSG another £10 million in paying staff off. Possibly far fetched I know. It all depends how bad the season pans out but both BR and the board are under extreme pressure, this "philosophy" could end up blowing up in their face adding another cock-up to the list they are compiling.
