  1. Would hate to see him go but now feel its inevitable. More important than Luis Suarez is the good name of our club. We have had other 20+ goal strikers without "the madness gene" and will again. Bit sick of it now to be honest. I've defended him to the hilt in the past but he has let us down - end of.
  2. Assaidi - by quite a stretch to be honest, thought he was superb. Wisdom - solid as a rock and for his age a very exciting talent. Skrtel - solid as a rock.
  3. Bah. Inflatable tits. Hate that in a woman. Might as well go the whole hog and buy a blow-up doll. No thanks - and it doesn't matter how much she begs.
  4. Looking at his performance today I'm afraid he has been giving the ball away too frequently. Mind you Suarez was as bad if not worse on that score. I'm at a loss to see how they and a few others on the team are actually gonna be able to carry out BR's brand of football where the idea is to dominate possession. On the basis of recent, but most particularly today's performance, yes obviously he should be dropped and replaced with Shelvey for a game or two. I'd say the same about Suarez tbh but I've no fucking clue who we'd replace him with.
  5. Only a very few positives from this - Sterling, Allen and Shelvey. No cohesion (though with so many new additions thats gonna take a while) but more worryingly no goal threat. Gonna be a long hard road.

  7. This. Get Assaidi on in place of Sterling who should be on the bench - hes been fucking brilliant but shouldn't be over-exposed while the forwards are all fit. Can come on from the bench. Can't wait to see Sahin - start 'im. Downing at left back, please, always knew he'd be brilliant errr somehow, somewhere?
  8. You might be right. I certainly hope so. I do agree that yesterday wasn't a disaster. A part of me can't help feeling that it was fucking close though. Haven't quite been able to shake the sense of letdown I felt at the end of the window last night. Was I let down personally? Doesn't fucking matter. I've been behind this team for over forty years now and that isn't gonna change. What worries me is that while it doesn't matter a fiddlers fucking damn whether I felt let down or not, I am still concerned about how our manager is feeling at the minute. I Don't give a shit about Clint fucking Dempsey, though I would like to have seen him here. Same for Sturridge. Could have been anybody as our target, Walcott, whoever, doesn't matter. Doesn't matter whether we were £1m or £10m short on what we could or were able to spend. Irrelevant. Theres been no bile or anything else aimed at the owners or Ayre from this direction but I fear someone has fucked up big time here and our new manager who I have the utmost respect for has been severely alienated. Don't fucking dare to tell me to get behind the team, the manager or club. Thats a given, end of. I really hope the youngsters up front can step up and really regret we're piling so much pressure on them 'cos I think we've got some real gems there. I don't want them ruined. To sum up I really hope the optimists on here are right but am very concerned last night will have shifted BR's view of the job at hand. I think he's big enough to handle it and swallow his pride but he's a very strong character and (laugh if you like) the first fucking thing I did when I woke up this morning was to check the web to see if he had resigned. Thank Christ he hadn't. Anyway, just wanted to come on to ask those who are insulting fellow fans who have genuine concerns to man up, grow some tits, fuck off if necessary, chill out etc fucking etc. Something went badly wrong last night but we'd had a great window up to that point. Anyway onwards & upwards. Lets get behind the team, BR and here's hoping we surprise everyone (including me) starting with a right twatting of Arsenal tomorrow.
  9. It was quite clear to most that our problem last year was lack of goals. Now seems to me we are a lot lighter up front and that puts immense pressure on the few options we have in that area who are either new or young and inexperienced. Never expected this to be honest - really seems that the main aim was reducing the wage bill. Fourth is totally unrealistic now and, to be frank, I find it impossible to believe that it was a genuine objective for the hierarchy at the club. The really worrying thing is that I suspect BR might be feeling every bit as let down as many of us are tonight. Think we found a gem of a manager there but after this? Well I dunno what the future holds tbh. Off to bed before I say something I'll really regret.

  11. ESPN mate, plus Setanta in Southern Ireland.
  12. Agree with this, the comparison of Rhodes to Aldo is an interesting one. I'd be particularly keen to get this lad in if he was one of two potential goalscorers we bring. Hes a gamble, aye, but a fairly low risk one in my view. As others have said though, I guess Andy would need to go for two new strikers to arrive.
  13. Nice OP Johnno, you're right something was screwed up. Like how the thread has gone from 'why you looking' and 'no-one cares' to 'ooohhh yeah...'. Twats. We've jumped up to sixteenth btw - get in! I think...
  14. Heard Brendan's comments after what was a very positive game. I'm delighted to be gutted that we didn't get the win, would prob have settled for 2-2 beforehand tbh. Noted the 'get a few in' comments plus the words he said about the number of players we've shipped out needing to be balanced with bring some more in. 'We're shallow' he said. Hope what he said doesn't mean we're stuck with the baggage - strongly suspect a lively week, cue another last day of excitement. From what Redknapp junior said sounds like Dempsey at least is nailled on, but I'd expect even more 'churn' hopefully.
  15. Allen in front of the back four has made such a deference. Whole team relaxed & confidence went up. Him an Lucas as a pair are mouth watering. Good overall, particular positives: Sterling - as I said within about 5 mins of kickoff, he is ready. Borini - tried like fuck, won't give up, so will get a few goals like tonight (where he doesn't actually have to put it in himself). Allen - great buy, 'nuff said. Still worried, like, but ffs man up lads, its gonna be a loooong haul. Morgan on - answer to our goals problem ;)
  16. Oh shit. Couple of minutes of that has been enough to convince me - Downing 'fits' the new system fairly well. Will be interesting - particularly in relation to my own sanity. Allen on - here we go...
  17. FFS not the woodwork again! Borini working his ass off to be fair. Looks like the type of player whose head won't drop. Hope he'll keep trying & he'll get his reward.
  18. Hmmmm.... Pace? Check. Goals? Check. Still time to improve? Check. Get 'im in.
  19. Wow, not the news I'd expected to log on to this morning. This will be a definite plus if it still happens and credit will be due to those involved. Still have my doubts, like, but hope springs eternal and all that.
