I have had problems with my broadband speed for the last month or so.on and off.I thought it was sorted a couple of weeks ago,after spending about an hour and a half on the phone.The guy from the Indian call centre assured me that if I kept my hub switched on for 72 hours my speed would be better. And it was.However last couple of days it was gradually getting worse. I called after work today. Call centre: "Hello,this is (half intelligible name),can I have your land line number?". Me: "Sorry..What is your name again"..I always take their name. Call Centre: "Aristotle..can I have your land line number please?" Me: "....Aristotle..?". Call centre: "Yes,can I take your landline number please?." The rest of the call consisted of me asking him to repeat what he was obviously reading from a script and him suggesting the same soultion as happened two weeks earlier.The fact that I didnt understand what he was saying most of the time is not necessarily a problem for me,I am a patient man.What did annoy me was when he seemed to get increasingly more angry when I asked him to repeat what he was saying. My point is,I am used to these Indian call centre staff calling themselves Jeff,Brian..even Maurice... but Aristotle?. Are they now taking the piss out of us?.

Scrotums in general get a bad press.I have become quite fond of mine over the years.Not the prettiest of appendages but has served me well.In fact I would go as far to say that is a travesty that mine has not been nominated for some sort of award.Perhaps not a knighthood,granted,but at the very least an M.B.E for services to sperm.I live in hope.

You may be right,I have little idea of our support before Shanks came but his influence still echos through our club after all these years,for young and old. I made it clear to all three of my kids that they were born supporting Liverpool.Luckily for them they never put up a fight.I said to their Mam that if they ever did they would be put up for adoption.Although I am only half serious there I do think there is a common fervour our supporters have that is lacking in others,even still.There have been desperate times for us in recent years.You are not being dramatic or maudlin mate,we need to drag the doubters along with us.Kenny being in charge again is a dream come true for us.Some need to get on board and enjoy the ride.

The bond between Shanks,the players and fans was ultimately built on success on the pitch and continued for an unprecedented period of time.I don't think you lose that overnight (or twenty odd years in our case) where the league is concerned.I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with having a section of supporters expressing their displeasure when we are not winning or playing badly although I suspect it has worsened in recent years.I don't know if its a certain demographic that is mainly responsible or not,younger fans that haven't had the sustained success some of us older fans have been used to in the past maybe?.Constantly aware of our history and success,and having to defend the team/club to their scummy little Manc mates.I know my 15 year old son gets more upset than I do when we lose or play badly.Perhaps because I was around when we ,as supporters,were a bit blase about our success.That aside I wouldnt give up on us as supporters quite yet.The filth would fucking love to have even a fraction of our history and spirit.

I like Brendan too,I have written a little ditty in honour of a TLW legend.This is for you Brendan.
