This 'Supreme passer of the ball' IS the Redknapp myth. He beamed the ball around but to no real effect. In effect he was an even slower Carrick. I reckon he made one goal for us with a through ball that I can remember, he put Fowler in in the second 4-3 with the Geordies! At the time there was very much an anti-Barnes in central midfield brigade. The real problem was Redknapp, look at how many goals JB made for Fowler during this time. When he was injured in 95 our midfield of Thomas and Barnes were fantastic. When Evans brought him back in we fell apart.

We have also had 3 managers in that time, yes I know Chelsea have but their starting position was much better than ours. I am not sure what people want. The position that needed to improve in January was support for Torres. So, we moved for Suarez. This was fucked up by sulky arse putting in a transfer request Friday! We had to act and get a quality replacement in, yeah we probably paid well over the odds but that is the market in January. Kenny has been here a month! I would like to think he has the final say on who comes in so I don't mind waiting until the summer for the full rebuild. Even if we went for Young on Jan 1st, which we may well have done by the way, the chances are Villa would still not have sold.
