Players Who Never Fulfilled Their Potential
etho replied to Bjornebye's topic in FF - Football Forum
As much as hes a bellend, Collymore, absolute monster potential literally had everything, left foot right foot strong quick could pass shoot from distance. Like an English Real Ronaldo. That Michael Johnson at Man City is another one, looked like a Gerrard and we were linked with him before he completely went off -
Hope that's not for a minimum of 6 years. I like the look of Ange Postecoglou actually, he seems to have a huge aura around him and doesn't take any shit
-
That's fucking hilarious
-
We give Porto an absolute battering considering all their players are class and everyone wants to sign them
-
Nunez pressing stats are very good, i'm sure they'll get even better. Some of you would have us buy some overrated players - Maddison, Ward-Prowse, Bamford Bowen et al, and then wonder why we aren't very good
-
Think it was more 4-2-4 and put all our forwards on, which Klopp has done numerous times over the last 3 years. I'm not saying it won't happen, just sounds like complete guesswork and conjecture. Can't imagine Klopp or his team have extensively briefed the athletic about their tactical plans. Also heard that we might do it to accommodate Nunez, which I don't get either. We didn't do it to accommodate Jota last season.
-
Think we might see more variations in terms of set up, but I just can't see us ditching the 4-3-3 anytime soon and playing with a dedicated number 10
-
He's gone for a very low fee, can only think the threat of him seeing out his contract has forced our hand
-
Definitely lost a tiny bit over 10-15 yards, and I think that showed when we brought Diaz in. still quick over the first 5 though as Zac Steffen can confirm. The transition to bring a number 9 came at a perfect time, and I think as a 9 he'll be playing world class for at least 3 years and top level for at least 5, the man's a machine. Also this talk of a big forward to bully defenders, Mane can do that, one of the strongest guys I've ever seen. Unbelievable player
-
It's not just sign 'a midfielder' with Klopp though is it, it has to be the right one and he has to be available. We've signed a young one in carvalho, if we sign a Bellingham or similar, I can see him being prepared to wait a year if he's not available now

Werner works hard, he has no end product. Nunez can finish, and assist goals
-
People talking like we're buying Ashley Barnes. This is probably the best available young forward in world football

That video was outrageous. I think Klopp was originally planning to keep him till the pre season friendlies started and he was clearly shot to pieces. Allison showed up days after that. The lord works in mysterious ways
-
I'm buzzing we've moved decisively for probably the most highly rated available player. Proper move

Why the fuck would Alisson leave any time soon. Loves it here and unlike Salah and Mane, he doesn't seem like he would feel he's got anything to prove
-
He's brilliant, why would we sell him?
-
35m were getting our pants pulled down
-
We have a midfield of 3 and they work as a three. Thiago does like to drop deep to receive the ball but he definitely plays on the left of the three, in the space Gini used to. Guess when you play in a 2 in a 4-2-4 you could say it's a double pivot.
-
No we haven't.
-
I'd take Pulisic, think Klopp would have him purring. Injuries would be the only concern. I could see us not buying anyone also, and going with the remaining 4 plus Taki and maybe Kaide Gordon. Doesn't seem to be alot out there in the market, and could see Klopp thinking there are maybe one or 2 promising players that could be worth signing next year.
-
Abraham isn't an upgrade on Origi. He's an Arsenal player
-
Sadio has been superb for us for the last 7 years, and I think you begrudgingly accept if he wants to try something else in his career. But it does sound like he's being a bit of a bellend about it and unfortunately these things do slightly take the gloss off, when the dust settles.

Reached the stage where we'd all rather he went I think. And it may get to the stage where we look back on Sadio and Mo as great players yes, but not 'legends'. Cause this isn't how legends behave
