  1. Wow this is a tough one, harsh on stam and de boer
  2. I haven't seen anyone i've linked with who seems particularly impressive as a Fabinho replacement. It's tricky as we don't know which Fabinho were replacing, the world class holding midfielder or whatever the fuck he was last season. Lavia to come in and learn the ropes looked great, as the starter now it doesn't look that impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Mac Allister lining up there first game of the season
  3. Last time I checked it seemed most clubs in Europe still have most of their business to do. Almost like the market might pick up at some stage. We also weren't planning for Fabinho and Henderson's exits so we're going to have to react to it rather than be front foot. Not disappointed with what we've done so far, with the caveat that we do see the additional recruits needed
  4. I'm annoyed Hendo is with the squad at the moment and agree, want him gone
  5. Selling Fabinho and buying Hojberg is very much giving selling Suarez and buying Fabio Borini vibes. Absolutely shuddering thought
  6. Think we might just need a midfielder or two....rumours we might be losing one or two. We obviously definitely need at least one more central defender who can run fast
  7. Think the leadership 'group' will need to collectively step up. On pitch it will be van dijk
  8. 3 more signings needed before start of season now. 5 in, 5 out in midfield is absolutely insane! Talk about a rebuild
  9. Both come from high pressing teams already and are particularly noted for their tactical intelligence. Andy Robertson came from relegated hull via Dundee United, and Fabinho had only played a couple of seasons in midfield after beginning as a right back and had played exclusively in a double pivot 4-2-3-1, and has said himself this change was drastic took him a while to adapt
  10. Think this pressing thing is overstated. Szoboszlai and McAllister will both be fine to learn the press. Fabinhos role as the 'lighthouse' was one that was very hard to master and took time, but given we don't play that way any more I don't see it as such an issue.
  11. Bloody weird day at training today I'd imagine
  12. Well we said the midfield needed ripping up last season...
  13. I agree whatever way it plays out now, I get the astronomical figures but it isn't a great look for him to have entertained it. Other players have simply said 'no' without anything being played out in public for pr or personal gain. While he will command respect off the pitch for all the things he does and standards he sets, I also think he may have an issue with regards to his 'authority' in the squad if he stays regardless of this offer. It's much harder to point and shout at your team mates when you aren't the player you are and your inclusion represents a drop off from the strongest first 11. I suspect he knows this as well
  14. I think it's huge. Players will need to step up
  15. If he does go do we only sign one midfielder? I had him down as the 6 or szobozlazlai back up
  16. Wow it's real. Can't believe it. For 700k a week i think he might just go. And as a player who has a standing among other players in the league that might just be the floodgates opened up for Saudi and players moving from Europe and particularly the premier league
  17. I'd say 25m. But I don't think you want to lose his leadership in a transition year and I do think he still has something to offer on the pitch as a squad player. That said though, if he's going to throw his toys out the pram (not saying he has or would) then do you necessarily want that around? Not sure I buy into it but I did read somewhere he was noticeably slower than he ever has been as someone who's veru active on social media to follow Szoboszlai who's clearly been bought to replace him. Again, may all be bollocks. If he's not playing silly games I'm happy he stays another year. If he is then it's time to go
  18. Doubt this is true either but if he is then I hope Jürgen tells him where to go
  19. 10m would be a joke, no point selling him for that. Might as well sell him to Saudi's in a year. This just seems like nonsense, surely the current Liverpool captain who's just spent the summer apparently getting in incredible shape ready to meet a challenge to his first team place isnt likely to then just walk out the door to a vastly inferior level of football, especially when he still wants to play for England in the next euros.
  20. I think Hendo is most likely if we are to play anyone else as a hybrid RB/cm in the absence of Trent, Fabinho could also do it given he used to be an RB. Be interesting to see how Conor Bradley does in pre-season
  21. Just been denied. Think he just wanted a bit of attention, bless him. Should post a montage of working out or something
  22. Zero chance Hendo leaves. Also the idea of Hendo and Thiago both leaving now as some lunatics are suggesting is terrifying. Both highly experienced leaders in a group that just lost Milner. I agree we should be looking for hendo starting games to be reduced now, and hopefully Szoboszlai comes in and takes us to another level. But I'm not sure I'd bet against Jordan Henderson however, and his leadership will be crucial for some time yet.
