  1. Lucas and Poulsen in midfield - surely that has got to be one of the shittiest midfield partnerships in the league.
  2. Fucking shite player. Was quite pleased with the Cole signing, but with names like Poulsen, Jones, Warnock and Petrov being linked I'm starting to wish we still had Rafa.
  3. Fabregas was born and raised in Barcelona. He joined them when he was still a young kid. That is why they put on the shirt. It's more like putting a West Ham shirt on Joe Cole.
  4. Players like Lucas and N'Gog are second-class players and should be shown the door or kept as back-up. We need at least 3 quality signings or we're in for a scrap for the Europa League places. A quality left-back, a quality second striker and a solid CM if Mascherano is sold should be the minimum requirement.
  5. Lucas and Poulsen in the middle of the park would make for one of the worst central midfields in the Premier League. To think we once boasted a CM of Alonso, Gerrard, Sissoko, Mascherano (and Lucas)....
  6. I see your point, but to compare real life with Football Manager is nonsense. With the way clubs like Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, even Spurs are spending these days, it would be foolish not to accept an investor whose willing to spend tons of money while investing in a stadium. Things were different in the 1970's. One of the weak points of this club is that we fail to move on with the times.
  7. What worries me is the fact that we let him go with the intention of finding a better, more reliable replacement, but got him back after only a couple of weeks. This may imply that either: 1. We cannot meet the valuation of a better player, or 2. No one wants to come to Liverpool in its current mess or 3. Fabio begged Roy to come back and, the gentleman that Roy is, duly obliged. Very worrying that we still cannot attract a real top-quality, reliable left back after so many months (even years).
  8. I pretty much agree with you on everything apart from your Insua argument. He was piss poor last season, looked like he used to eat 20 pies a day, and I'm glad we've seen the back of him. I'm not very optimistic about Hodgson either. The PR machine has been at full swing and you'd think he's won us the title by the reactions of some on here. He's no Mourinho or Hiddink. He's just a journeyman who's had two seasons of success in a mediocre club. I just hope he'll be given some money to invest in the squad, seeing as our last three signings have been free.
  9. That's a strange one really. On one hand, I wanted Benitez out for months. But on the other, I expected a better calibre manager than Hodgson to take the reins at this great club. We really have fallen into free-fall ever since that win over the Mancs.
