You've got to wonder at this stage whether it would've been better for us to stick with Kuyt instead of Borini and use the money we spent on him to buy a proper striker like Demba Ba.

Our squad doesn't have enough players suited to one touch, pass and move football. Suarez, Gerrard, Enrique, Borini etc do not move the ball quickly enough and spend too much time on it. It will be a very poor season if we persist with this football until January.

I don't understand why we don't put him upfront, as he seems to be one of our only players willing to make runs in behind the defence. Suarez always drops deep and its costing us because all our play is infront of their defence, and their quite comfortable with that. Its exactly the same as last season.

Gerrard and Suarez been awful so far. The worrying thing is we're expected to rely on these two and Borini to score our goals until January.

Wasn't his son an agent for almost every big player thats left in the last couple of years? That would be worrying if we let him and his son get their claws into our players.

I don't think he's the answer, but he's a much better striker to bring of the bench than fucking no one, which is what we have currently on the bench. And Carroll just gone off injured. Ahh well.

Still think regardless how you play, whether its counter attack or possession based, direct or short passing, you need goalscorers and people who are able to find the net on a regular basis.

Because he hasn't got the owners to make the transfers HE wanted. Remember when Shankly offered his resignation because the board refused to sign a player that was too expensive, then because of the letter they signed him? He showed that he had the power and wasn't a yes man. Rodgers looks weak because he's looking like a yes man who's letting them get away with making the wage budget smaller and not bringing in replacements and he's going to look stupid because he's going to have to backtrack on his statement of needing 3 strikers, somehow.

I think its made Rodgers look stupid and weak too. He said he NEEDED 3 strikers going into the season. He's only got 2 strikers now because Ayre failed to get Dempsey or Sturridge. It seems he has no authority over who we can sign and who we can't. He just has to give them a list of targets and hope they come through. Rafa was right to want full control of everything when you have mongos like Ian Ayre at the club.

If Rodgers pretends he's happy with not gettign anyone in then he's going to be proved a liar. "I need a minimum of three strikers. Once the window shuts, that is it until January. I have got Luis Suarez, Fabio Borini and Andy Carroll. "I would need to be a nutcase to even consider letting Andy Carroll go at this moment." And the people who claim FSG are supporting him financially will look silly if he doesn't get a striker in the window, as he's publically said he NEEDS three strikers.

Whats your opinion of Dzeko? I always get the impression that he's a really good player but he just doesn't suit the pace of the premiership.

I personally think we are. It all depends on your perspective but my view is that we've lost 3 wingers with over a 100 career goals each and bags of experience in favour of Borini who's only had 1 full season of top flight football under his belt and Assaidi who has not done anything outside of the Dutch league yet. Upfront we have got rid of Carroll, Bellamy and Kuyt and only brought Borini in so far. I think regardless of what you think of Carroll and Kuyt we are clearly much weaker there as we don't really have the depth there to rotate Suarez, seeing as Borini will be starting on the wing most games. Adam Morgan is our only option as a striker from the bench at the moment, he's started one competitive game in his whole career! Yes the defence has stayed the same, I agree.

Not wage wise. The wage budget has yet again been cut by FSG. We really could've done with one or two of Bellamy/Maxi/Kuyt this season, as we lack quality in the wide areas. But it was said at the time that we were getting rid of them as we could get someone much better for the wages they were on, yet we've ended up getting no one to replace them! We are weaker in every position bar central midfield going out of this transfer window in my opinion unless we sign at least two new players.

I meant its no surprise that FSG are not willing to pay what he earns. As they only seem interested in cutting the wage bill further and further. The fact we've got rid of 5 pretty high earners in this window and have only brought in 2 younger players and one high earning player on loan yet we are still complaining about someone's wage demands doesn't surprise me.
