    it leaves us short again at left back if he does bring in figueroa i would imagine we still need back up so we sell 1 L/B and have to sign 2 more makes financial sense doesn't it ! as for the poll i think he looked good in his 1st season last season he was woeful out of his depth but i've posted this before last season he was left in the firing line for 2 long due to lack of cover so i would have kept him for 1 more season and seen how he came on

    Spot on that,i was arguing with a few bluenoses the other day they were saying both are off i was basically saying the same as you above in Gerrards case he would be at liverpool till the end of his career (he said this in his dvd aswell) and Torres said he wouldn't sign for a prem team,if they both do decide to leave (deep down i wouldn't blame them but it would feel like a massive betrayal by both) it would be as bad in some ways as some of the lies we've been told by the board in recent months/years (excluding the no debt on the club thing by the yanks no were near that one)in Gerrards case it is becoming a regular thing and to be fair he always stays but in Torres case surely one bad season doesn't mean he has to leave for CL football he's had alot of niggling injuries over last 2 years surely he can give it one more hopefully injury free season,either way i think both sould let the fans know as soon as possible

    i would rather go back to them days players now have far to much say in every aspect of the game from image rights down to short/long sleeve tops at least then what the manager said went wether players liked it or not they didn't go to the press and moan about it

    Joe had to do what was best for Liverpool and in his opinion he did Thomo deep down probably knew that although at the time it was killing him Thomo would have used that experience years later when he had to tell players they weren't involved in big games at the end of the day the team comes first

    He said he wants regular football now he turned down £100,000 a week at chelsea said its not about money so maybe Liverpool will be a good choice for him he will play regular we could probably give him the £100,000 aweek over 2-3 years (sell some deadwood to free up wages) and theres no transfer fee ,we could buy a left midfielder for about £10 mill in todays market then have to pay him £70-80,000 per week so it could be a good deal for all involved he as already tried rentboy status(at chelsea big wage no footy) so why bother with citeh? he would be a squad player again with big money if it comes down to us or spurs,are spurs just a 1 season wonder or will we be back up there come next may ? Liverpool is still Liverpool at the end of the day even in todays shit tip that were in were still abigger club than spurs

    Agree there the Benfica game at Anfield last season he was brilliant a few games towards the end of the season he showed he could spot and deliver a decent through ball,Babel aswell i would give 1 more season(or at least til jan) dont know what it is about Babel i recon he could still do a job for us next season (on the pitch i mean-not like dishwasher or anything)we haven't got anywere near the money we need so lets hope Roy can turn afew players around next season if we were to sell Lucas for £8mill or Babel for £8-10 mill how much would decent replacements cost probably the same and even then they wont be "world beaters" at that price so it will be a gamble we could end up even worse off than with these 2.Ardan Turan would be my choice to replace Babel what will he cost though £15mill?

    A loan move would be a good idea get some of the youth scouts to keep an eye on him for the season and report back how he is doing,because he wont learn a lot in the reserves and i can only see him getting the odd carling cup game next season if he impresses during the loan then get him back and give him a chance if he doesnt sell him on

    I think he will do well against the Arsenals,chelski,scum but when it comes to Bolton,sunderland teams that will battlle in the middle then i think he might just disappear he doesnt look the player who will mix it up,so if we use him well in the right games could be a good player next season

    Tried to prove he was in charge dropped far to many "big"names for other reasons outside of football Zanetti,cambiaso are just 2 that should have gone i like maradona as a character but his lack of tactics starting to show Germany are the only decent team the Arggies have faced (same as england) and he just cannot work out how to get at them

    they are a fairly young side aswell will be a very good bet for euro 2012 people were raving about him before the world cup he has had an bad tournament so far i think he is a centre back usually so probably playing out of position

    Cavalieri-Not abig fan when he has played looks unsure of himself plus use the young hungarian kid looks decent Itanje-just a cunt worse than shite Degen-looked like a good rb when we got him but far to injury prone and not as goog as first thought Plessis-not liverpool standard El Zahar-I thought he was only 20 or so didnt realise he was 24 in that case not going to get any better therefore not good enough Spearing-we need local lads coming in but i dont think jay is good enough (wish him well though) Insua-just think last seasons nightmare(not all his fault though)has put a doubt in his head that he carnt play at this level (if he thinks he isnt good enough it will be hard to make him think he is) Riera-trouble causer looked decent in his first season but his lack of pace out wide is a problem Johnson-i know not a popular choice just think he is reported to be £20mill target for madrid i think given a chance young Kelly would be a great player glen isnt the greatest defender more like a right midfielder really take the money give the kid a chance I want to give Babel 1 more season under a different manager just think he looked amazing 4 years ago at ajax he cannot have just lost all that needs to be given some belief and regular football

    something similar was put in another thread my problem with it was to may young players earning £20-£30 grand per week are "happy" to sit on the bench or play bit part roles because they like the idea of being "premier league super stars" they like the fit birds all over them they like the sports cars the sad thing is half of them would rather have all of that than be a world class footballer or a hero to millions of kids,thats why they dont go abroad its not the lifestyle they want
