  1. I dont think that Babel will be any part of the deal to bring in Luis Suarez as it looks like he is going Hoffenheim - its on the Liverpool FC website.
  2. 3.55pm: Talking to legal experts, the feeling seems to be that H&G probably will try to get the appeal court to hear them. But if the LFC/NESV talks are concluded and the deal is done, an appeal court ruling won't be able to unpick that deal. It might become a case for damages, though. H&G could potentially hope for £100m damages, but would be very unlikely to get them. Lawyer (and Liverpool fan) Damian McPhun emails: "In order for any appeal to succeed, H&G will need to demonstrate that the verdict of the judge at first instance (i.e. Justice Floyd) was "wrong". In reality this means they will need to show that the verdict was not within the reasonable spectrum of decisions that could be made about the case. The mere fact that an Appeal judge might have come to a different opinion is not the determining factor - the Court of Appeal won't interfere unless a verdict is obviously wrong. Even to get permission to appeal H&G will need to show that an appeal would have reasonable prospects of success - not a formality in this case." 3.49pm: LFC board meeting that will decide future of club will take place at Slaughter&May's London offices at 8pm - media scrum already in place, tweets @danroan.
  3. Sad to see Yossi go if I am honest - decent player when he was on song. Maybe I am being stupid here but I do seriously think we will have around £20 - 30m to spend on new players (not counting players sales which maybe 60-70% will be made available to the new manager). The reason behind this is because at the end of the day the owners want to sell asap and they need to make Liverpool F.C as appealing to the new owner(s) as possible to get as close as the £800m asking price (which is fucking wishful thinking if you ask me) as they can. If they start selling our star players such as Masc, Torres, Stevie etc etc then the value of our assets decrease thus making the selling price seem even more unrealisitic. If they have a braincell between them they will keep hold of our star players and replace the players they sell and strengthen further our current playing staff. If not and they continue to sell and not replace then we are screwed and will end up going under.
  4. I knew the situation financially was bad at Liverpool but I didnt expect it to be this bad. It really hurts me to see a club which I have supported all my life be raped by this two parasites like this. They have shafted us big time and without any lube - proper dry bummed us. They thought they could make a quick buck when they bought us but this has well and truly backfired on them for which during their tenure the team has suffered and so have the supporters. Hate is a strong word but I hate Hicks and Gillet for what they have done to us and I hate the people who sold the club to them. I do see light at the end of the tunnel thought as the evidence is there for all to see in the accounts published that they cannot afford to keep us or to even invest in the team. Interest payments will mount up and so will the debt. I believe Broughton when he said he would sell the club in a matter of months as with our poor league position, no Champions League football next season, Cancer and Aids not willing to invest in new playing staff, they can surely see that it only get worse both on the playing side and financially with them at the helm. They will want rid of the club sooner rather than later and this summer I reckon so they can attract a new owner who has a chance to make their own mark on the club be it getting a new manager (not sure if it should be Rafa or not), new playing staff to freshen things up and get the feel good factor back at the club, and get the stadium built for which is a must to compete financially with the the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United. Its not going to be a pretty couple of months but I hope all this pain will be worth it in the end with owners who care for the club and want to take it forward and back to where it deserves to be.
  5. This is good news and it seems as if there is plenty of going on behind the scenes which is slowly coming out. Hopefully Cancer and Aids will have some sense and realise that no one at Liverpool wants them anymore and sell the club to someone who loves the club and take us forward.
  6. Best and most consistent keeper in the Premiership. Great character and I agree with Gerrard that he would make a great future captain of Liverpool. Great news for Liverpool. Just need Mascearno to sign now and some decent news now on getting rid of C & A.
  7. I think it is a bit harsh on Insua but as mentioned we cannot give him a break and there is no one else to come into that position as Aurelio is usually injured and we flogged Dossena. When watching him against Benfica the other week I cringed everytime he got the ball as he seemed to panic and give the ball away - when Babel got sent off he got hammered and just coulodnt cope. I dont see why Benitez doesnt put Agger at left back and then use Skrtel in his place in the centre. Maybe even use some of the lads from the academy to give them some experience as I can honestly say Insua is not good enough for Liverpool
