  1. There's more... An agreement between the UK’s Conservative Party and the Democratic Unionist Party would be “positive news” for the country’s Jewish community and for Israel, President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews Jonathan Arkush told The Jerusalem Post on Friday. The DUP, the largest party representing Northern Irish unionists, agreed to support Prime Minister Theresa May’s minority government on an informal basis in parliament, according to reports Saturday night, following Thursday’s national election in which May fell short of a parliamentary majority. Arkush and his colleagues recently met in Belfast with DUP leader Arlene Foster and the party’s Westminster leader Nigel Dodds, whom he described as having been “exceptionally warm and friendly.”
  2. Here's the President of the Board Deputies commenting on the better than expected showing of Corbyn in the last General Election. https://www.timesofisrael.com/uk-jewish-leader-election-result-a-loss-for-community-and-israel/amp/?__twitter_impression=true "While Labour stunned pollsters and pundits by clawing back from a deficit that at one point stretched to 26 points, no party gained the necessary 326 seats in the House of Commons to form a majority government, and none can therefore claim the election was an absolute triumph. Jonathan Arkush, president of Board of Deputies. (Courtesy) For the Jewish community and Israel, however, the result was unequivocally a “loss,” at least according to Jonathan Arkush, the lay leader of British Jews as the president of the Board of Deputies umbrella group. “If the governing party, which is a strong supporter of Israel, loses so much ground, then of course it has to be something of a loss for Israel and the Jewish community,” Arkush, who is currently in Israel, told The Times of Israel in an interview Friday morning. And that loss is compounded, he said, when it comes to the gains by Labour. Corbyn’s party, said Arkush, “has policies that are supportive of Israel, supportive of the two-state solution,” but will see its “far-left faction, which is far less sympathetic to Israeli concerns,” bolstered by the strong showing."
  3. The Jewish organisation The Board Of Deputies are now "issuing demands" to Labour and Corbyn and are ramping up the rhetoric that Corbyn mightn't be up to the job of tackling the (alleged) problem of antisemitism in the Labour party and are using phrases like "leadership change." Well, that's an entirely unexpected surprise...
  4. The bottom line is that if they don't neglect their child to go out to drink wine, the child is still with them.
  5. I've read the Twitter thread. He's hihlighted about 25 to 30 cases in a party of 552,000 members. Factor in that some of the cases that he's mentioned are not antisemitism and that the majority of those involved have been disciplined and, while they're unwelcome occurrences, the numbers are small. The bit about Corbyn being added to Facebook groups where antisemitic posts have been made is such pathetic clutching at straws. I got added to a group for Cat Pictures and a boycott the S*n one. I didn't do it myself. And, I just read what pops up in my newsfeed. I don't drive into every comment that's made. And I'd imagine I have a lot more free time than the leader of the Labour party.
  6. They should just own up and end this charade.
  7. I think the article loses a lot of credibility when it seeks to weaponise the NEC following of a long standing disciplinary process against Livingstone and goes on to use such formal necessity to imply that Corbyn is in some way involved in ensuring Livingstone's continued membership of the party, implying indifference to antisemitism.
  8. Can you post this "good thread" as I think you've posted the wrong link there...
  9. There's really nothing to see. He asked why a mural had been taken down. It's been argued that the imagery in the artwork was similar to the caricatures of Jewish businessmen used in Nazi propaganda literature. I disagree. The over exaggerated cartoon imagery present in such vile Nazi propaganda is nothing like the mural characters. It's rather unfair to adopt a default position that Corbyn must've recognised that the men shown in the mural were a depiction of Jewish tropes and that he didn't care about it. It totally rules out the entirely possible scenario that Corbyn had a brief look at the picture, in a reduced size image, didn't notice the alleged antisemitic imagery and was just asking why the mural was being removed, entirely from a freedom of expression perspective. He's admitted now, 6 or so years later, that the mural contains antisemitic imagery and it's removal was correct. But, again, has he not had a better look at it now it's a newsworthy story? Might he just be paying lip service to the "it's antisemitic" angle just for political expediency as, if he came out and said he didn't think it was, that could dig an even deeper grave for him? I can see both sides of the story. There's an argument that some of the imagery used is antisemitic; the stereotype of the all powerful Jewry running the world economy. But, there's also an equally strong case that somebody who's briefly looked at a small picture of the mural could have easily just seen rich businessmen, not necessarily Jewish ones. It's all much ado about nothing, for me. It's just another example of the bigger, underlying story that has repeated examples. And is an actual tactic of Israel's Hasbara manuals. If anybody shines a poor light on Israel's despicable actions, deflect, change the narrative. It's not a legitimate point. It's vile antisemitism. Don't look at us. Look at the horrid Jew hater. It's happened many times in the past - from "self hating Jews" like Norman Finkelstein and Yoav Shamir, to "Pallywood actors" like the Tahmimi family, to the "horrible antisemite" Corbyn. It's a cheap tactic. But, thankfully, one which is becoming more and more transparent.
  10. Got round to watching that Get Out last night. Ha. It's a bit fucked up. But funny too. A definite hint of black comedy about it, if you excuse the pun. The main characters chick/psycho is fit too. 8 teaspoon taps out of 10.
  11. Nope. Just not wasting the time to give a proper reply to a troll and responding with the appropriate level of disdain.
  12. Nope. I'm saying that, although I'm not entirely against Catalan independence, if there's sufficient evidence to suggest that a person has broke their own nation's laws, then a system which allows for their arrest and a subsequent fair trial is not something we should be critical of.
  13. The Funeral Murders. Should be on iPlayer still. An hour long documentary looking at how the SAS foiled an IRA bombing plot in Gibraltar and how this ultimately had the knock on effect of leading to two of the most notorious terrorist attacks, both at funerals, in the history of the Northern Irish troubles - the Michael Stone Republican funeral killings and the horiffic and brutal murder of two British soldiers at another Republican funeral a few days later. Very good.
  14. Well, the Czech/commie spy story quickly ran short of steam, so it was back to the Old Faithful of antisemitism. Yawn!
  15. Shite, those European Arrest Warrants... Ten of Britain's most-wanted criminals have been arrested or sentenced since the beginning of this year thanks to the European Arrest Warrant: A 24-year-old man was brought back to Kent from Italy following a rape investigation after Kent Police secured a European arrest warrant A 32-year-old man who had been convicted for wounding with intent and escaped from HMP Sudbury more than four years ago was arrested in the Netherlands using a European Arrest Warrant and brought back to the UK A British drugs kingpin convicted of running £31 million cocaine smuggling racket was jailed for 18 years after having been arrested using a European Arrest Warrant at his luxury Spanish villa in Spain A British fugitive living under a false identity on the Costa del Sol and accused of shooting dead an Irish dad-of-two was caught after a European arrest warrant was issued, and now faces being jailed for more than 40 years A British fugitive from Aylesbury described as “very dangerous” by police was captured in Benidorm through a European Arrest Warrant. He is wanted by the British authorities for “crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation” carrying a “maximum punishment of three life sentences.” A man suspected of trafficking women for sexual exploitation and running brothels in Kent was arrested while trying to cross the border between Poland and Germany after a European Arrest Warrant was issued A sex offender from Chelmsford who fled the UK during his trial was sentenced to eight years after he was caught under a European Arrest Warrant in Kosovo One of the UK's most-wanted suspected paedophiles, Stephen Carruthers, was arrested in France in using a European Arrest Warrant after being on the run for three years A 24-year-old man was detained using a European Arrest Warrant in Belgium in connection with the murder of Carl Campbell, who was shot dead in West Bromwich High Street on December 27 A sex offender who dodged his initial trial was jailed for more than a decade at Oxford Crown Court after being arrested in Ireland
  16. Anyway, I'm off to do proper things, with proper people. I'll leave the trolls to troll. Plus, I'm worried that we'll get to that point were Rico starts PM'ing me again to say that I'm being unfair, or where he offers to meet me for a pint. And he makes out like I'm strange.....
  17. It's all there in black and white. There was a discussion. Then you and that NV cunt started making personal attacks. It's utter lunacy to try and portray it any other way. Not that I value a racists opinion on things anyway.
  18. Nope. I only have one account. Still. Sigh. I simply made a mistake. We're not as infallible as your good self (if you ignore the arrogance, condescension, bigotry, Muslim hating and blatant racism)
  19. Error on my part. I'm a remain voter but for some reason put leave by mistake. Possibly through a loss of train of thought due to astonishment at the unwarranted abuse by some of the increasingly aggressive posters using this forum of late. My posting history on my solitary account on this forum backs up my mistake and clearly points to me being a remain voter. Just like your posting history points to you being a racist.
  20. The evidence is there. Read it back. I think you need help.
  21. You've been on one for about a week now. It's quite funny to read. Read the post back. It was a civil discussion and then you just snapped. Are you prone to angry outbursts in real life?
