    The bizarre thing is, if Martin Broughton was telling the truth about the fact we have no need to sell, then why don't the club release a statement saying he is under contract and would not be allowed to move until new owners are in place, due to the fact that they may be mega wealthy people that will enable him to fulfill his ambitions at Liverpool? What's all this "if Fernando wants to go, we are powerless" bollocks that Roy was coming out with? Broughton will definitely do his best to get him to Chelsea, I also bet he'll do his best to ensure we end up with investors as owners, rather than a Sheikh Mansour type. Liverpool has become the watchword for providing nice liitle earners to all concerned. Why would the bank deem a sugar daddy to be best for Liverpool, when they want to keep working with us? In order for that to happen, they need people that are rich enough to properly guarantee the money, but not entirely wealthy enough to not need it. I fear the next owners will be 5 year, stadium build investors and not long term custodians.

    Fair enough. I agree about most of the SoS stuff, but it definitely does show him up to be a lying cunt. I don't think that is the only publicised evidence of him lying either.

    Gerrard is a dreadful centre midfielder. A great player but his days in that position are over. When he gets a touch older he may make a good Def Mid, but Gerrard is not of any real use in the middle of the park.

    I do actually read your posts, unlike the majority on here, and I know we share a (shall we call it) healthy skepticism when it comes to SoS, but there is no way I think they were lying about this meeting. So in your view, how exactly did it go down?

    Why play devils advocate with such a rigid stance? Playing devil's advocate is generally a way to entice opposing opinions out from all sides. I don't think you've done that at all. The threads you need are already all over the forums. I'm not SoS's greatest fan, but playing devi'ls advocate isn't slagging them off for that Munich idiot. You've picked a side there, and now you're trying to wriggle a bit with your softening language.

    It didn't abandon business protocol.It was Ayres job to rake in the sponsorship as he headed up that side of the business. Purslows remit was to bring in investment. Nobody can be 100% sure exactly what happened behind the scenes, but it wasn't Purslows' job to deal with standard chartered. He turned up when the photo opps started. He is on SOS record as being a lying cunt. That is evidenced.

    I don't get this "he needs to be backed 100%" attitude. By backing him, we endorse his appointment, and the work of Purslow. He won't be boo'd and nor should he be, but showing ambivalence to this appointment is the right path in my view. We certainly need to get away from the demagoguery of managers after 5 mins, and this is the perfect opportunity. whether we support his appointment or not, will have no bearing on our team (which will get support). The cunts running the place have made this a political struggle and there's no need, when Kinny is sitting so close. This is Purslow flexing his muscles and giving a big "fuck you" to everyone of us. This is blatantly lacking any ambition whatsoever.
