Maxi wants to go to the WC so he wants to leave Atletico to get more games. Why would he go to us where he'll have to compete with a player who never gets dropped? The only way I can see him getting enough games here is if Torres gets injured again and Rafa moves Kuyt up top. But still I would gladly take him. He's been a captain, he knows Masch and Torres and I think I would prefer him over Kuyt on the right.

Having Lucas/Mascherano/Aquilani(/Gerrard) in any combination depending on the opposition is a good thing and we should keep all of them. Replacing any of them with another, possibly lesser, player and investing in other areas of the pitch is too premature. They're just now getting a chance to play together. But Lucas/Aquilani against Chelsea's, Barcelona's or Real Madrid's midfields wouldn't cut it I believe. We need Masch for those games.

I can't believe people are convinced he would stick with us if we only had a battle for fourth every year, along with some Europa League football. If he wants to that, he would have stayed at Atletico. I believe he loves the club and I don't think he would want to leave Liverpool for another English club (I can only see him leaving for Inter or maybe Barcelona), but that doesn't mean he would be happy staying here carrying us on his back. He left Atletico exactly for that reason.

I was relieved when they got the red card, thank you Santa. I felt we were gonna score at one point, but 11 against 11 and they might have gotten a goal back. And who knows how we're gonna react these days when we concede. I do wonder now how we're going to play against Villa. Will Aquilani be able to play? Torres looked very tired as well. Gerrard looked a little better this time. Our defense still looked nervy, I hope O'Neill rests Young and Agbonlahor.

I think he does still stand by that, but like you said it came back and bit him during the pompey game. I think he realised that the best way for him to get top 4 place is just to take it one game at a time and don't pay any attention to what the press are saying anymore.

Aren't winning bonuses also included in their wages? Mancs have had to pay their players higher wages because they won things for them. Our wages bill would also be a lot higher if we'd won the pl and the cl last year.
