Would you Like to see Benitez as manager of Man City
ngogswilly replied to Kennys_spell's topic in FF - Football Forum
In fairness though, any manager worth his salt should do well with city.Mark Hughes will be replaced next summer by someone better and then they'll spend another 100 million and they'll either win it or come very close. -
If we got an offer for Gerrard.......

Fair enough but you do realise without 1 of either I'd pretty much guarantee you we wont finish in the top 4, thus no CL money, probably lower attendances, lower merchandise sales. Simple thing is, if they sell one of them their fudging themselves in the craphole. -

so basically rafas doing utterly shite with a team that could do alot better, obviously not being able to spend a few extra million has hindered him from creating a better squad,we should give him time. is that the jist of it? i think alot of people are prepared to give him time, but people wont accept utter crap week in week out. -
This is my first thread so apologies if this seems pointless. But was just thinking about how this season is becoming very similar to Houlliers last season and how Houllier seemed to have lost the plot. Everyone knew Houllier probably wouldn't do much better if he stayed on and thus Rafa came along. At the minute alot of people are comparing this season with Houlliers last season. Just wondering what do people think. Could Rafa turn things around next season? Thats if we accept this season as a write off, as far as the league goes at least.

I hate the thought of that but it seems likely. I can picture everybody hunkering down in a foxhole hiding from people taking the piss out of us. Until something good happens. Whatever that might be I dont know. I'm hoping that good thing might be the Mancs crumbling because of their ginormous debt, roman might leave the chavs high and dry and city will still be crap. Then we'll be alright.

Yeah, its difficult to see us doing anything on our shoestring budget. Its depressing to say the least. Its so sickening, I hate thinking that we came so close last year and didnt do it. Last year could have been the best chance we're gonna get for another god only knows how many years. That just kills me inside.
-
We've turned alot of corners this year, i think we're stuck in a maze.
-
Only thing is, in 2003, you wouldn't have bet Houllier could take the team of players he had and have a great season the following year. But with rafa, if he'd stop being such a stubborn bollox, theres a good chance we could have a great year next season.

I'd fire him out of cannon. Go find where he landed and slap him around a bit and tell him to drop Kuyt, give Insua a break and play Aquilani from hence forth. But whether we would fire him or not doesn't matter, its up to the yanks and they probably cant afford to do it. Even if they do make a bit of money off their "Franchises" in the states I cant see them wanting to hand rafa 10/15 odd million and send him on his way.

"sunday will be different" I just seen that posted on another forum. I think i've thought that way every time after we've played crap over and over now. Anybody else think that? I dont know what to think anymore. I want to cry!

Wouldn't surprise me if Lehmanns acting like a grade A prick as per usual, which probably wouldn't help an already demoralised dressing room.

Yeah gotta agree. I don't think the lad is a all that bad but hes played what like 3 games in the past 2 years. I'm still with Rafa but the mans making some odd decisions. That game today was crying out for something, anything at all to change it and El Zhar was hardly going to do it. Aquilani probably would have been a better choice. All this someone is going to go through him and kill him nonsense is getting annoying. Could happen in any other game and if hes fit enough to be on the bench hes surely fit enough to play the last 30 mins
-
I bet Aquilani won't even start in the league this till new year because as silly as this sounds I think rafa is being stubborn. I think he wants to prove his system with the current players will work simply because of all the criticism hes getting. I reckon come new year and few more bad results he'll see that Lucas should be dropped for Aquilani and hopefully the team will kick on from there. Heres hoping though.

a win is ridiculously important no matter what but today could be great, stoke have the potential to get a point at arsenal, man city probably wont beat chelsea but i have a sneaky feeling west ham might get something against the mancs.

Does anyone think he would be a good player for a lower maybe midtable team? I personally like him but hes just a little too average for the position he plays in.Hes not a bad player but we need someone who can do a little bit more.I would love him to suddely come good and start driving our play on a bit more and chipping in with a few assists and goals but just cant see it happening.

I really doubt it but I often imagine that he someday might turn into a world class player and we'll all say "Didn't see that coming" but then I remember how very average he is and how stupid his haircut is and I think, no one with hair like that will ever be world class at anything.

Yeah alot of people are probably hoping for too much if they think 1 man can turn this season into something amazing. But at this point he needs to play so we can at least get a look at whether hes good enough or not. At the end of the day Lucas does a good but very average job. Aquilani might just be able to do a bit of a better job in midfield and help the team improve if even just slightly.Well thats what im praying for anyway.

Yeah you would nearly swear it was fixed but we all know Man Utd dont get any preferential treatment. I mean they never get ridiculous amounts of added on time or seriously dubious decisions going their way. Must be just plain old bad luck I suppose:whistle:

I dunno if anyone noticed but in the first half he said somethin in a weird almost spanish accent. Think it was like RRRRRrrrreeeacshhhuuuunnnnn. Trying to say reaction or something. I also noticed the other commentator laughing his head off at him at times. Funny stuff.
