  1. They can slash what they like. That tart will never play for us again. As for Yossi, can't see that either.
  2. Also mentioned that it had been the objective from the moment he arrived but yet, here we are, last day of the window and on and on. Delighted with the outgoings and fingers crossed there will be good news by the end of the day.
  3. Are we going to be surprised today? Are Dempsey, Walcott and Sturridge as good as we can hope for, not knocking any of them, but are they the 3 players we are supposedly looking at? I'm usually ambivalent when it comes to the final day but just looking at our first team squad on the official and with the 3 groupings of players in Rodgers thinking - "I've made it clear my group will be made up of starting players, cover players who can come in, and development players who can progress." I'm still seeing a lot of cover players.
  4. LFC confirm Carroll loan. Liverpool Football Club can confirm that Andy Carroll has joined West Ham United on a season-long loan. The striker will spend the whole of 2012-13 with Sam Allardyce's team. LFC confirm Carroll loan - Liverpool FC
  5. Always liked Pongolle, wirey little fucker in and around the box. Won a lot of free kicks in dangerous positions because of his style and build. Handy little player.
  6. So many things going on at the moment with injuries, possible transfers out, registration issues that fuck knows what the line up will be tomorrow. Of all the players I'd like to see rested, Borini, Sterling and Gerrard would be front of the queue. ---------------Reina----------------- Kelly--Carragher----Agger----Robinson Henderson------Adam---------Shelvey Suarez---------Carroll--------Downing Agger had a rest at the weekend and Carragher deserves another start in this competition. Hopefully Robinson will start again with Enrique just coming back from injury. I reckon Arsenal will be the kind of team Allen will do well against so it would be nice to have him bang on form for Sunday. Lucas injured, Spearing (fingers crossed) on his way to Bolton leaves us a bit thin in the middle, especially if Adam doesn't play. Same goes for Carroll but if he doesn't play, I'd put Morgan in there, no worries. Sterling would play 3 games in a week if he starts and with Arsenal early on Sunday, I can't see it happening. Borini looked mentally tired at the weekend, still very young so I'd play Suarez who is well used to playing week in week out. Arsenal are jellyfish if you get into them so if we give half the effort we showed v City there is a good chance we can beat these cunts.
  7. Theo Walcott: winger set to stay at Arsenal after 'amicable' talks. Arsenal forward Theo Walcott looks set to stay at the club this summer after holding amicable talks with manager Arsene Wenger on Wednesday. The 23-year-old's contract expires in 2013 and he has yet to sign a new deal. There had been suggestions he might leave, with Manchester City among the clubs monitoring the situation. But he has indicated he wants to stay at the Emirates and although he could leave for nothing next summer, there is optimism an agreement can be reached. The England forward met Wenger following Arsenal training on Wednesday after it emerged the player had rejected an improved five-year deal worth £75,000 a week. Walcott, who played for England in Euro 2012, joined Arsenal from Southampton for £12.5m as a 16-year-old in 2006. He has scored 42 goals in 222 appearances and won 28 England caps during his time at the club. Last season, he contributed 12 assists in the Premier League, many of which were for Robin van Persie. Striker Van Persie moved to Manchester United for £24m on 17 August, three days before Alex Song joined Barcelona. Walcott started the home draw with Sunderland on the opening day of the season but was left on the bench for Sunday's draw at Stoke. Arsenal waited until after the campaign began to open dialogue with Walcott's representatives. BBC Sport - Theo Walcott: winger set to stay at Arsenal after 'amicable' talks
  8. With the Sinclair deal supposedly having fallen through with City, I'm amazed we are not in for this guy. Helen Flanagan with her wamps out at Anfield every other week thrown in for good measure? Win win surely? I haven't seen much of him but he looks a determined little rattler from what I have seen. Fits the current recruitment profile to a tee. The only reason I can't see us trying our hand here is if Rodgers simply doesn't rate him? Looks like he was one of Rodgers first signings at Swansea though having known him from Chelsea I'd say. Surely worth a £7/8m bid under the circumstances?
  9. Fat Sam saying their spending is done - He told Sky Sports: "I don't see much at all, to be honest with you, in terms of ins. "I think that our finances now are on the limit, as it were, speaking to our co-chairmen. I think that we'll work with what we've got." Allardyce added if he does make any last-minute reinforcements it is likely to be on a loan basis. He added: "We'll never say never, you never know what might turn up. But if it's going to be anything, it's never going to get past a loan deal, I think." Big Sam not planning late deals | West Ham United News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports
  10. Permanently or another one of our bend over and take it up the arse loan deals?
  11. The most galling thing about those transfers was not only did we spend £35m on Andy Carroll but we spent £35m on an injured Andy Carroll. Why not hold that Torres money until the summer and invest it then? Knowing those fat Southern Geordies, pissed as fuck were literally laughing their asses off at us as we, like a bunch of drunken sailors at a port on payday went looking to spunk our money up against a wall. It was the most pointless, clueless transfer in the history of the game. I said it at the time that he would end up going back to Newcastle for a shit fee and they would get to laugh at us all over again but I think he has been so poor for us, his movement with or without the ball is Tony Cascarinoesque at best that if we got £5m and him off the wage bill I'd take it. I was amazed with the reception he got when he came on yesterday. He is what is potentially standing in the way of us getting a goal scoring center forward in before Friday.
  12. Very happy with Sterlings' performance. If he can play like that against the champions he won't fear other defences. Allen did well and with Sahin and Assaidi yet to come in we are looking a lot leaner than we did at the start of last season. Great team selection from the manager today from the players he had available. 5 days left in the transfer window, we should move heaven and earth for a quality center forward. l can't see many players leaving now though so might have to make do with what we have.
  13. Very good performance for the most part. Awful mistake for their second but if we can play like that at home for the rest of the season, we won't go far wrong. Great goal from Suarez but still feel we need someone that will play on the shoulder of the last defender, with pace and we will win more games like this. Two points thrown away, for sure, but a good draw today.
  14. Balotelli is totally unpredictable but with no Aguero or Silva, we might not have a better chance v City for a while. Anything from Sterling will be better than the usual nothing from Downing. If we can keep Tevez quiet we might have a chance.
  15. Well pleased with this signing I have to say. LFC complete Sahin loan Liverpool Football Club have today completed the signing of Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan from Real Madrid. The 23-year-old passed a medical at Melwood before putting pen to paper on a deal that will see him spend the 2012-13 campaign with the Reds. Sahin told Liverpoolfc.com: "I am happy to be here and I am looking forward to playing for Liverpool. "It makes me proud to have joined such a big club like Liverpool Football Club. "After the first conversation we had, I was left impressed by Brendan Rodgers. He told me about how he wants to play football and what the goals are he wants to reach with Liverpool. "I am looking forward to meeting the fans. I hope it will be a nice year with trophies." Sahin becomes Brendan Rodgers' fourth signing of the summer, following Fabio Borini, Joe Allen and Oussama Assaidi. The manager said: "We are delighted to welcome Nuri to Liverpool and also to say thank you to Real Madrid for loaning us such an exciting talent. "Nuri Sahin is a player with great technique and motivation and someone who will fit in smoothly to our playing model. "We welcome Nuri into the Liverpool family and wish him good luck in his efforts to make us successful in our future." LFC complete Sahin loan - Liverpool FC
  16. Sterling showed great maturity there in laying the ball off but Borini looks utterly clueless. Great desire and anticipation to intercept the ball in the first place. Great half from him, well pleased.
  17. That's correct, Assaidi is cup tied because he played in an earlier round but will be fine if we make the group stages. With Agger out for Sunday I'd start him with Coates, get Saturdays game out of his system and Coates will be more comfortable with Agger next to him I feel. Hopefully take that mistake a game out of him. Robinson at left back, good for him to get a game with Enrique out and Johnson not travelling. Carroll needs minutes on the pitch. Allen should be able to play 3 games in a week this early in the season, at his age and with a good preseason behind him. Same goes for Borini. Sterling deserves a run out so I'd go with - -------------Reina--------------- Kelly---Coates--Agger---Robinson --Henderson--Allen---Shelvey---- --Borini-----Carroll----Sterling---- Jones, Carragher, Flannagan, Lucas, Adam, Downing, Morgan.
  18. And if he doesn't? Kenny didn't and I love the man. It's all if's and buts and to be honest it's annoying to read it in every thread. Anybody that had a hand in Rafas execution needs to smother themselves. I don't post on here a lot because I can't be arsed with the nonsense that goes with it but FSG are a bunch of penny pinching cunts that think some magic fanny will arrive and make everything better. I fuckin hate them, every last one of them...
  19. I'm sorry for starting this thread today, I really am. I genuinely don't want to be on the managers back but he's not good enough, not now anyway and what makes it a hundred times worse is the freaks that are supposed to be steering the ship are drunks, at best. We are a clown outfit from top to bottom at the moment. I'm a 35yr old man(boy, admittedly) and l've spent all my life supporting the club and I'm desperately upset at the moment. I watch the interviews with the manager and the owners and they make me sick to my stomach. It's not even lies, it's simple incompetence. We are now on par with Bolton, Burnley and the likes and it hurts.
  20. I was positive that once I moved to Liverpool I'd be inundated with insightful INT lark. Fantasists is all l have met, sorry..
  21. 12 months time? And all stand around and debate the horrible appointment he was/is? Because I want to know?
  22. He was surrounded by poor to mediocre players. I genuinely feel sorry for the chap... Another false dawn...
