Early kick off so the ground isn't exactly going to be jumping, 120 minutes the other night with a tired, threadbare squad. No Fernando and Stevie out of sorts all season. Roll on summer.

Johnson is injured so Mascherano is staying at right back with the Greek coming in and Agger moving left. And Maxi is in for either Benny or Babel.     I'll be there cheering the boys on as usual. At the end of the day its about self-respect. If we give it 100% tomorrow and get beaten by the better side on the day then so be it but while there's a game to be won I want to see every player in red giving it their all for the full 90. Having said that this season has been a nine month nightmare and I couldn't find it in me to give anyone any shit for jibbing it.

    He's got genuine charisma no doubt about that but if I saw him having a drink in the White Star - after the game one day - I should have to go up to him and give him a semi-playful slap. I should then say "Oi Mourinho NO! Whilst I admire your command of the language, you're good looks and easy charm I did not appreciate the hush gesture in Cardiff nor the constant harping on about the ghost goal - now shut the fuck up you moaning Portuguese cunt!" The leather coat sprint at OT in 2004 will always be a fond memory though and I like the fella but he's not for us - he's not Liverpool enough. Him and Madrid are made for each other and I hope they'll be very happy together mutually massaging their giant egos.

    No problem mate. If the info's correct he's going to get fucking slaughtered if it doesn't pay off - for not recalling Darby or for not playing Aurelio or Torres crutches and all. But then he gets fucking slaughtered whatever the result against whoever we play so I suppose it doesn't really matter. Suffice to say it'll be nice to see an attacking team sent out and, as far as I'm concerned, Aquilani can pay off a slice of his transfer fee with a decent performance tomorrow. He in particular shouldn't have too much trouble finding space behind their midfield.

    We've got two big games coming up at Anfield this week in case it had escaped anyone's notice. Another European semi-final and a point required against a very good Chelsea side to ensure we have European football again next season. Hopefully the sun's shining all week. I'm going to have a few bevvies Thursday, maybe take in some tapas in La Vina with a couple of cold San Miguels to wash em down. Similar story for Sunday with the bank holiday to recover. I'm not going to Hull - I went the cup game there in 89 and you'd have to fire me out of a cannon to get me back to that shithole so if the result against Atletico doesn't go our way my season ends Sunday. Any chance we could call a temporary truce on the endless arguments about the Yank cunts/ownership/pro Benitez/anti Benitez/Juve/Mourinho/Stevie to Spain/pro Acquilani/He's a boss eyed Roman twat/Maxi's shite/Maxi's boss Lucas/Lucas/Fucking Lucas etc etc....We can't even agree on whether or not we want to beat Chelsea for Christ's sake. Can't we just enjoy the build up to the weekend, savour the prospect of a couple of decent games and talk about football? After all we're all on the same side aren't we? Granted its been a never ending horror of a season and only the prospect of going to Hamburg is currently keeping me sane but we've got all summer to talk about the shite that currently surrounds our beloved club. Or at least we will have once England are out the World Cup. Just a thought like.

    I'm a Benitez man but there have been several monumental blunders in the transfer market over the last two summers. The Keane money should have been used on Arshavin immediately after Euro 2008 Dossena was a fucking disaster - not sure who filled out the scouting report but they should be shot. Sneijder should have been brought in instead of Acquilani.
