  1. It's starting to sound more and more like Klopp has been driven out of the club.
  2. It would get confusing otherwise!
  3. Ideally we'd replace about five or six players in the summer. I'd sell/release Adrian, Thaigo, Matip, Salah and Tsimikas. I'd bring in any homegrown GK, a proper number six, a centreback, a left back and two forwards. The defenders I'd bring in would both be from Fulham. Tosin Adarabioyo and Antonee Robinson. Both are home grown, and Adarabioyo is on a free. Robinson looks ready to take over from Robertson. I have no ideas on the six or the forwards though. It wouldn't surprise me if we were to go for someone like Matheus Cunha or another Fulham player in Rodrigo Muniz.
  4. I think he's done better than expected and I'd keep him next season as a back up, but we need to bring in a higher quality player in the summer.
  5. Id like to see Trent, Mac Alister and a proper six in midfield next season.
  6. There was rumours that they were prepared to offer £150 million. Yeah but in they are all in in together in terms of raising the profile of the league. He could sell it that offering £100 million for one of the best players in the world would be a real statement signing. If they were smart they might even get Salah to go to Gerrards team. Salah would bring in a lot more fans to a smaller Saudi team, a bit like the way Messi has at Miami.
  7. I think Saudi clubs will be a bit more measured this summer and won't have the same mad scatter gun approach they had in 2023. Considering that they spent €90 million on Neymar, we should be able to get a similar amount, if not more for Salah as he has a much bigger pull. We should get Gerrard involved too, to sell it to them about how good a deal it would be.
  8. He's never going to fuck off International football. He'd go from hero to villain in Egypt if he prioritised playing for us over them. It's stupid though because Egypt are shit and are never going to win anything. One think we have to consider when replacing Salah is that we need players that aren't disappearing every two years midway through the season. I'd steer clear of signing African players unless the tournament actually gets moved to the European summer permanently.
  9. We've been better for most of our games in 2024 when Salah didn't start. He's been a brilliant player for us, in my all time top three with Suarez and Gerrard but I think it's time to cash in on Salah in the summer. The money raised by selling Salah should allow us to get two decent forwards in.
  10. We're making Dominic Calvert-Lewin look like a world beater which is some achievement.
  11. No. When I compiled the list for the poll, he wasn't even amongst the top 16 names on the list.
  12. I've seen Brighton play this year and they look like a poorer version of Man City. They were already playing good football under Potter before he came in, all he has done is tweaked it a bit. That's a fair point, but it doesn't change the fact that Brighton started the season really well with wins over United, Newcastle, West Ham and Wolves but they've massively dropped off in the second half of the season. The way De Zerbi is going I can see Brighton struggling next season and he will end up getting sacked.
  13. Can't see Lampard being on the shortlist?
  14. What does he do tactically that no one does? If he's such a good tactician how come Brighton are only 10th in the league? By overachieving I meant that he hasn't done anything out of the ordinary. If he'd taken Brighton up to 4th this season, like Emery has done with Villa, I'd class that as overachieving. They have massively dropped off this season though. after winning five of the first six, Brighton have only won six of their next twenty six league games. If they replicate this next season, they'll be closer to relegation than European football.
  15. If you'd said to me that we could build a title winning team by signing a left back from Hull, a midfielder from Newcastle, Two Southampton players, a "Chelsea reject" and a Roma goalkeeper, I'd have also been stunned.
  16. De Zerbi tries to get Brighton playing like Man City that's all. He's hardly some great revolutionary. De Zerbi not winning anything is significant as it means that he's not an overachiever. To be fair to him Shakhtar Donetsk were top of the league when he left Ukraine so he could/should have a Ukrainian league to his name. I'd still rather go for somebody like Slot over De Zerbi though.
  17. The "Dutch connection" might help the likes of Gakpo and Gravenberch kick on a bit too.
  18. Same. It's an almost impossible task following Klopp, but of the names we've been linked with recently I think he's as good a bet as any.
  19. I nicked it from the Simpsons, so don't expect any legal action!
  20. I for one welcome our new bald Dutch overlord. Have we ever had a bald manager in charge before?
