  1. hello everyone, i dont usually post on here but i do follow this forum practically everyday. I had to log in and just say something with regards to this..... to me the whole thing about being a liverpool fan, to me anyway, was more than the football. As with all of you here, its my life. Part of that to me was giving a fuck about people in general because that's the type of people/club we are. I am not sure I am comfortable choosing one persons life over another, regardless of where they are from. If people want to do a round of applause for the Boston people and Anne (RIP)then as far as i am concerned that's great. if you personally think that you only want to do it for anne then thats your right and I certainly wouldnt judge anyone for that, and no one else should. To me I would rather celebrate peoples lives than do anything mournful so no i don't think its inappropriate. Xerxes with regards to your line about Americans not caring about 7/7..... i hear what your saying but surely because we do show we care makes us better than them? do you know what i mean? I lived in London during 7/7 and was on the same tube about 5 mins earlier than the edgeware tube bomb and a friend of mine was actually on that train but wasnt hurt (apart from his hair was burnt). even though i was safe i cant help but feel for what they have gone through. so I will be doing it for both in celebration sorry ended up waffling.... going back to lurking now! :)
  2. one of the funniest things i have ever seen! what is he doing?
  3. i would welcome it with open arms if pardew is in our dugout!
  4. i would welcome it with open arms if pardew is in our dugout!
  5. daily fail linking us to pardew?!!!!! please just no! Kenny Dalglish sacked: Liverpool admire Newcastle boss Alan Pardew | Mail Online
  6. well said that man! i hate the diaz brothers so much! hoping for a condit left hand knock out
  7. i found out another really interesting stat the other day..... 100% of people on this forum think code is boring as fuck and actually doesn't have any thing constructive or positive to say here..... read into that what you will. ta
  8. that wondeful thing called hindsight again. Code we will never know the ins and outs of any transfer dealings past, present or future so i dont think anyone is qualified to talk about it in any great depth. you dont actually know anything about what happened with Alves. FACT! Simao would have improved us at the time, Malouda is better than anything we have there now and scored goals. and Jovetic is still a young player with bags of potential, ripped us to shreds - which knocked us out of the champions league. (if we had signed him the pre-season before, would we have gone out at that stage?) regardless of whether Rafa was the manager or not, i certainly welcomed us being linked with these type of players over your Konchesky and Poulsens of the world. I actually thought Rafa was very candid in that interview and i dont think he would have mentioned these players without being convinced we would have been better off with them at that time. But as I said i would swap all of that for what we have now. An opportunity to build something better and with a clean slate. btw, No more pandering to those who profess their love for us and then high tail when the going gets tough.
  9. as i said i agree that bad desicions were made in HINDSIGHT! but i still understand why these desicions were made AT THE TIME. None of us will know exactly what went on and why but what i do get is that everything that has happened has led us to kenny being in charge and getting our club back (or it certainly feels that way) (I would take everything that has happened including loosing Alonso, Torres, Masch and Rafa for this feeling) I wish rafa all the best, I respect the man for what he tried to do at LFC (the trophies he won and some of the best nights i have ever had being an adult as a LFC fan) and I thank him for all the hours he put in, the effort he made with the fans (i actually think he 'got' what we were about), the way he has conducted his charity work on merseyside having been sacked. That all smacks of class. I probably will go back to lurking (having doubled my post count) but i feel it needed to be said. i dont think any LFC fan should really be calling any LFC manager (even Souness - i endured those days too)some of the names Rafa has been called at him on here and some days its embarressing and should really stop.
  10. thats not the point though is it. I have said in my previous posts that LFC was a FUCKING business, football hadnt got anything to do with it. I havent said i agreed with it at all, I think Xabi was one of my fav players, but at least i understand the economics of the situation balancing the books. He has said, in that interview, that mistakes were made. YOU WILL NEVER RESPECT RAFA regardless of him making aplogies or not, that much i do know. you should be a politican...conviently ignoring points i am making about the economics of the club at the time. Senasational work Code - you should work for that rag!
  11. some quotes and FACTS would be nice to prove that rafa wanted to sell him at £14M and Alonso refused. In the interview he clearly states that we bought alonso for £8.5M plus add-ons and sold him for £30M add-ons. Rafa states that the money being offered in that summer wasnt enough. mate can you not seriously see the bigger picture of what kind of state we were in at the time? is it that hard to understand? Alonso was our biggest sellable asset. yes it sucked that we had to sell him. But when you need money to buy players to improve a squad you try and minimise the loss in the numbers. get it now?
  12. er value? we bought alonso for under £10M and sold him for £30M. here is a revolutionary idea for you...LFC was run as a fucking business at that time not a football club!
  13. i dont post here much but i have to pull code up on this. I have watched the interview and if you had listened instead of spitting your bile then you probably would have heard him say that the year before we actually sold alonso he wanted to replace him with Gareth Barry (english) for the following reasons: 1) Alonso was the 2nd best paid player at the club 2) not having his best season at the time......but the club needed the money due to our buy to let policy. 3) Yes the new rules (english quota) certainy made selling alonso, who wasnt having his best season + 2nd highest paid player at the club, an easier desicion. and to be honest if you had actually listened to the interview the team he said he wanted was Torres Jovetic Malouda Kuyt/Alves Gerrard Masch Lucas/Aquilani not too shabby for a midfield and attack, even without alonso. but it didnt work out. i certainly know who i blame for things going tits up and it aint benitez. He is a hero in my eyes for many things, mainly his dignity, sticking up for the club, highlighting our precarious financial position, making me proud to be a red. but, he has gone and probably needed to go. He is still burning with passion for our club. A club he loves/we love. I for one would happily welcome a rejuvinated benitez back....but not till kenny has won everything! oh and code......you bore me..sorry normally i wouldnt say anything like that and have enjoyed some of your previous posts...but as i said your boring me....move along
  14. confirmed! on the offal, cant post links! Liverpool FC announced today that Steve Clarke has joined the Club as First Team Coach. Clarke, who played over 500 senior games for St Mirren and Chelsea, also brings with him considerable experience as Assistant Manager at Newcastle United, Chelsea and West Ham United. Reds' boss Kenny Dalglish said: "Steve is a great addition to our backroom team and I'm delighted we've been able to bring him into the Club. "I am looking forward to working with Steve alongside Sammy and our other technical staff." been here for a few years but this is my first post!
