Fowler at his peak stands alone. 116 goals in the first 4 seasons. Aged 22. In a not very good side. Some of the players he turned out alongside.... Because he was pretty much surrounded by dross we didn't really do him justice trophy wise. In his shoes I would have been highly pissed off when there was all the "if you're good enough, you're old enough" stuff around Michael Owen getting a nod for England. I always thought Owen would win more in the game as he is less of a natural talent than Fowler, and would therefore work harder at what he had rather than being a born finisher. Funny enough, the only trophies they've won thay won together. MO has a charity shield more and that's it. Although he did win the FA cup for us on his own, and could have had a hat trick if Robbie had put him through. Shows what I know. I refuse to put Torres in anywhere as it's unfair. He could turn out to be as good as anyone we have ever had. It's a bit like watching Ian Rush, except he can head a ball and can shoot from distance. Torres has by far and away the best song.

Back in the day (see username) I used to go to a few Everton games with a blue mate, his brother and a few of their mates. Back then they had a very good team as we all know. Even then when they were winning stuff their fans on the street end would moan incessantly. I couldn't believe it at the time. I talked about it with the same lad about a week ago. He actually agreed with me, and furthermore he says it's worse now, and he won't go to goodison as he's had rows with people for moaning constantly. I agree with what some of the regular posters have said. They are hugely hugely obsessed with us and I am really not bothered at all by them. I have blue mates and had blue colleagues who I get on great with, but they are all of a certain age, perhaps that's something to do with the lack of bitterness. They can remember the team winning. And even when we have been shit we have been involved in games everyone talks about - Newcastle 4-3 etc. We've been less than totally brilliant and done a lucky treble. And one classic I overheard after 2006 "Liverpool get another cup for fucking drawing the game" I didn't want them to be relegated on the last day aganst Wimbledon until I found out they were 2-0 down (I was at a wedding). When I thought it could happen I sort of warmed to the idea.......Bollocks
