  1. Obviously different organisational bodies, but there is a very very recent precedent of a season having to be abandoned. The 2019 Chilean premier division had to be abandoned due to the civil protests. Universidad Catolica, who were leading by 13 points with six games to go, were awarded the title. No teams were relegated, the league was just expanded for the next season.
  2. I would not be surprised if the actual death rate for covid-19 would be just marginally higher than the swine flu. Initial numbers are almost always inflated. The current rate is largely driven by the 3.1% fatality rate in the Hubei province (of which Wuhan is the capital), which is itself driven by the lack of adequate measures and resources in place at the outbreak. In addition, the rate is calculated as a proportion of the number of confirmed cases, but there very likely is a huge amount of mild unreported cases around. The mortality rate in other Chinese provinces is only 0.16% which is possibly the best true estimate we may have at the moment, considering implementation of testing and other measures. In addition, if it's like other coronaviruses like the SARS, with which it shares 90% of its DNA, we should (hopefully) see a seasonality effect with reduced infectivity rates with warming temperatures of spring and summer.
  3. I reckon he must have made about the same amount of mistakes as Mignolet and Karius usually would in a season, in probably fewer games. The Ings goal, the shit attempt of a save against Newcastle, same for the Maddison goal against Leicester, taking ages to place his wall against Brighton, the Chelsea goal and now this. And, there have been several other moments like today where he gave the ball carelessly to opposition sides which did not result in a goal. He also can't dive whatsoever. That dive to save Joao Felix piss easy shot during regulation was comically bad, nevermind their first goal. The only reason he's got off so lightly till now is that contrary to Karius and Mig, the current team is so fucking good that we still managed to win the vast majority of these games. Had he played for these previous LFC sides, the general opinion on Adrian would be vastly vastly different.
  4. Still can't get over how idiotic that was from Adrian. Utterly moronic, sheer arrogance. The outfield players didn't deserve that shit.
  5. If the league can't go on, I would be okay with a straight face-off against City for the title. As long as we get a 25-goal starting lead.
  6. Is it me, or is Minamino not even on the list? Probably gets MOM, purely for being the only one who was not utter shite.
  7. Has to say Hendo is a big miss though. It is pretty obvious we don't have a particularly creative midfield but it has not been a major issue this season, as we've pretty much always beat the opposition for intensity. As Klopp pointed ages ago, counterpressing can be a remarkable playmaker in its own. However, lack of both creativity and intensity is a recipe for utter disaster. Just like against West Ham, we were second best to just about every second ball and the counter-pressing was seriously underwhelming. Hendo, at the very least, ensures we don't get outplayed in these areas. Anfield helped us up the intensity after going 2-1 down against West Ham, but we were never going to get away with a lack of intensity in this game.
  8. No one showed up tonight, Lovren is just an easy lazy target. Virgil is the one who could/should have stopped the ball reaching Sarr on both goals, particularly the first, and last one is all on Trent. Today's was the failure of a whole team, utterly pointless highlighting individuals.
  9. Difficult to feel overly aggrieved at this team given what they've achieved. But, there has been a sense of 'we are just gonna win somehow, irrespective of how we play' creeping into our game of late. Hopefully, this acts as a wake-up call, especially with Chelsea and Atletico coming up.
  10. Trent has been casual all game long. But, this has been coming. All too lacklustre of late.
  11. Same issues Klopp highlighted post-West Ham. Everybody (bar Bobby, and to a lesser extent Ox) seems fixed in their positions, utterly predictable. Atletico will have a field day if we keep attacking like we are of late.
  12. And, Gladbach is the most fun to watch of them all. Long way till then, but at this point in time, Marco Rose would be my ideal candidate to succeed Klopp. He's Jurgen's best pupil after all.
  13. Benfica flashbacks. Proper shite game. That referee looked utterly out of his depth. Unfortunately, so did our subs.
  14. Gini is far too slow/safe with his ball progression for this type of games. Virgil and Joe have been uncharacteristically sloppy. Can't afford to concede a second here. Also desperately need Sadio to keep his head.
  15. Don't need Hendo dropping so deep to make a back-three in build up. The two centre-backs should be enough to play around their one-man press in Haller, who can't even be arsed anyway.
  16. Mo needs to step away from free kicks though. Free kick technique is all wrong.
  17. Shaqiri needs to be moved back to the right. Useless on the left.
  18. The author of that initial 90min article also had three other 'exclusives' out on the same day linking a big club to some unheard of youngster. Could easily (probably) be bullshit.
  19. Still favourites, but fuck it, draw I least wanted.
  20. Extended manager bounce to counter Watford's new manager bounce?
  21. Or whoever finishes second in City's group. Basically, just try to avoid the two Madrid teams.
  22. Dortmund 2-1 up with a combination play between Sancho and Brandt. Would rather have them as potential opponents than a conservative Inter. Same with Leverkusen tomorrow, but Atletico will probably go through.
  23. Could have been any score this. There's going to be a goal in this, so the lads better find their shooting boots at half-time.
