  1. As someone who sadly still buys replica shirts despite my years, I am disappointed (like many) as to the poor design of the latest shirts. The home one is passable but unremarkable and the away short is a disgrace. Only the alleged third shirt is not too bad. Obviously no-one is forced in to buying these shirts and I have not noticed many wearing the new home shirt where i live (Liverpool). I suggest that those going to the games wear any replica shirts not made by Warrior as a protest against the new designs. Warrior like any company enjoy free marketing on tv where people will wear their products in support of the team. Wearing previous shirts made by Adidas, reebok would deny them this marketing on a global scale as all matches are covered by live tv across the world.
  2. Benitez has wasted millions on shite players during his time here (including transfer fees and free transfers). Even free transfers have proved to be a ridiculous waste of money as their wages etc.. have drained finances. In the case of Dossena, I don't think he is a world beater by any stretch of the imagination but maybe his best position is left midfield not left back. With a lack of decent width in the middle and injuries maybe he could fill in at left midfield. His crossing is decent and can get past players unlike Babel. At least Dossena always tries and shows commitment when he plays. Personally i think that it would be better to promote a reserve player in to cover instead of playing centre halves in a position they're not comfortable in - Skrtel at Boro is one example which springs to mind. Why do we have a reserve team? Injured first team players rarely play in it to gain match fitness and they're rarely tried in the first team.
  3. I'm sick of people saying that 4th place is more important than actually winning a trophy. That is ridiculous. Stop believing the media spin about the Champions League, stop being as obsessed about money as LFC are, and start wanting to win trophies. If we fail to progress from the CL group, don't deride the Europa League and say you're not going the games. Let's win it if we end up in it and have a decent drink up in Hamburg to celebrate. Winning ANY trophy is what it's all about. Need to play the strongest possible team at Arsenal and get through. It would be highly embarrasing to lose against a below-strength Arsenal team. John, i've not forgotten about Burnley in 2004/05 (i know, just let it go ha ha!!)
  4. Agree with John. Should go for EVERY trophy on offer EVERY season. Benitez has been in the job for long enough and has built a squad unable to compete on every front. Maybe a squad of 18-20 top class players is better than 30 average players with a couple of top class players. Benitez has never solved the wide areas and a top class partner for Torres is urgently needed. Have this recurring nightmare that the mancs win the lot this season.
  5. Darby. If Degen was not injured, he'd have been playing tomorrow. Would Degen be a better option than Darby? I don't think so. Why play Carra in a position he'd prefer not to play if given the choice? Give Darby a chance.
  6. m.c. is spot on. Only 4 competitions to go for, why throw one in already? The squad should be good enough and large enough to cope with 4 competitions. Benitez has built the squad since 2004 so is ultimately responsible. Man U and Arsenal are still in it and have same number of games we have (more in Man U's case).
  7. Darby every time. I think Benitez will be a shit house & play Carragher right-back. What about playing 3 centre-halves - Agger/Hyypia/Carra and 5 in middle with 2 up front? Has worked well last season, especially at Newcastle.
  8. John Agree with all that, except you missed out the worst player of all - Mr Degen. He is shite, but at least was a free. Should go for all the cups. Only 4 to play for anyway. Can't stand all this "it's only the league cup shite". In January it'll be "it's only the FA Cup", Remember Burnley 2005. Play for every cup like his predeccessor did - treble 2001 anyone? Every fan who went down to London last night deserves their money back, end of.
  9. Was wondering what people's thoughts were on AFC Liverpool being formed. AFC Liverpool is LFC friendly and formed by LFC supporters to provide a club for the working class football fan in Liverpool. Would you consider going to AFCL games? Could you afford to watch both AFCL and LFC? Could they in the future be a viable alternative to watching LFC or do you think they may attract the kind of support that FC United tend to get?
