Love the football Barca play, Xavi is immense. Got over to Madrid a few weeks back and got a ticket for the Lyon game. Not that impressed with Madrid but obviously Alonso was at his best and Madrid walked it. The game kicked off late and I had plenty of layers on preparing for a cold Spanish evening, but 10 mins before kick off, gas heaters lit up under the roof of the stadium. Delayering followed swiftly. I realise now why the ticket cost 80 euros, to pay their fucking heating bill. Anyway, I think Barca peaked a few months ago when they crushed Madrid at the Nou Camp, that was some performance. I can see a draw this weekend and then Barca to edge the other 3 matches. Barca to snot Utd in the final.

Justin Currie released a solo album called, "What is love for?" a couple of years ago. Top tunes. I've got all the Dels albums but rate his solo stuff as the best.

Centre midfield should be the powerhouse of the team, think Keane, Viera, Davids, etc. We need invention and drive. Lucas is just out of his depth. Not quick enough, too many fouls, too many sideways passes. Its fine when we are playing Stoke but Lucas is getting found out. Get Gerrard back in the middle quick. -
Having seen the game last night I think Gerrard should be back in the middle with Masch. Lucas has improved but not enough. Gerrard and Torres were so isolated last night that Espanyol completely controlled the game. I wonder if the pace of Babel and Torres would worry other defences and I'm sure if Rafa told Babel he would play the first 10 games of the season no matter what his confidence would grow. If not Babel, I wonder how Robbie Keane would have got on if he'd stayed. For me Gerrard is our best player so he should be on the ball the most, influencing the match from the middle. The best solution would be for Alonso to stay, What a player he is.
