  1. Pennant is injured isn't he? If Chelsea win tonight I can see the same team as the one that started away to Arsenal, with Intanje in for Reina.
  2. Apparently SOS are trying to get numbers together for a protest outside Carra's restaurant at 1 oclock today. I think Sky are going to be there. Can't fault their profesionalism.
  3. Don't be too hard on Taylor, he might be a self serving media lovey, but his heart is in the right place. He's not the enemy here.
  4. I'd prefer a clean slate and all of the current lot shipped off to an island somewhere, with a scouse billionaire waiting in the wings ready to spend all his own cash. Failing that, I just want a smart committed owner with a longterm vision for success. Their wealth is not an issue for me.
  5. At least the power hasn't gone to your head anyway. I might be in the minority on here and the internet, but as far as matchgoing Reds are concerned, you're the minority, a very tiny minority at that. Most decent Reds just want it sorted out behind closed doors, away from media intrusion, and self serving fan groups posturing for the cameras and adding to the whole shameful mess.
  6. Quit the martyr act. Since when did being owned by a pair of classless buffoons give the fans carte blanche to constantly embarrass the club? This brand of mindless militantism has no place in our club or football in general.
  7. Hicks basically hinted that Gillett wouldn't sell tio him. Which is good news for DIC obsessives. He did make some relevant points too. Just a pity we can't debate them anymore because opinion has become so polarised, with the majority unwilling to see through the fact that he's a cunt. Aren't they all though. Lets hope if DIC do take over we don't make the same mistake again and welcome them with open arms.
  8. Nothing probably. The poor little fella just wants his money.
  9. It doesn't sadden me. The guy is woeful, a mid table player at best and a major weak link in the squad. I love Liverpool too.
  10. Kenwyne Jones would be lethal at the right club.
  11. You're talking worse, worse, worse case scenario here. It's not a fact either.
  12. Any expensive attacking full back will do me. I rate all of them.
  13. Another nail in the coffin of the club. Our fans used to have a bit of class. We're not terrorists, we're football fans. Let the business people sort it out, and it will eventually, and we get back to events on the pitch.
  14. Remember not to get angry, it only devalues what you're trying to say.
  15. Very impressive PR, you have to say. Dubya would be proud. There's 5-10 days worth of internet hysteria in that. Of course it's cynical, he's a billionaire/politician, every detail is meticulously planned. You can see why naive footie fans would get sucked in. Ignoring the gloss, he didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. He wants to buy the club but doesn't have the money. It's alright saying he'll head a group of investors and wipe the debt clean, but we want concrete plans not promises. If DIC had any real intentions of buying the club, or any real PR skills, they'd come out with a similar stunt, but they seem happy planting media spin and waiting to get us on the cheap.
  16. I really am disgusted with the lot of it. How could we get ourselves into a position where we have to choose between a new owner and losing the best thing that's happened to the club in 20 odd years. I think that could be the end of football for me. The club is just unrecognisable from the one I've supported all my life.
  17. It's anything but optimism. But there's a chance that Hicks will take full control and we'll have to try and make the best of it, at least until someone worthy of the club takes control. I'm certainly not going to walk away, especially if Rafa is still there and content in the job.
  18. So if Hicks offers Rafa a new contract, which the other board members have to agree to, do you think they wouldn't accept it? If they didn't that would create another massive shitstorm and the relationship between Rafa and Parry, Moores and Gillett would breakdown completely and it's likely that he would walk. Also, who sanctioned the January transfers? As far as I'm aware the relationship between the two yanks had broken down by that stage, with Hicks taking the reigns. The players rumour sounds a bit dodgy. Regardless, they're under contract and have no say in anything that goes on at that level and should stick to matters on the pitch.
  19. Gerrard best position is coming off the right in a free role. That would solve so many selction headaches for us, and we could bring in a specialist link striker to partner Torres, or use someone like Crouch, and still keep the two disciplined midfielder types that Rafa likes. If not for Andy Gray and Jamie Redknapp banging on about it every week, I doubt Stevie would have been that fussed about having to play more centrally.
  20. These kinds of comments just get on my wick, no offence. I've just been reading the threads on RAWK and it's full of maniacs all churning out the same stuff. Everything is PR, spin or some kind of secret innuendo. God forbid Hicks might actually like Rafa and want to give him a new contract and start planning for the summer. I genuinely think a lot of our fans have lost the plot over this and don't really know what they want anymore, and Hicks is a conveniant hate figure. Ballague is spot on in what he said, and Hicks has taken the brunt of the media mud slinging, while the others just hide in the shadows. I'd prefer a clean slate and all of them to fuck off and never come back, but if Hicks is our only option at this time, then we have to get on with it. If Rafa can make it work, then I'm on board too.
