Alright fella's, this is my first topic so be gentle... anyways, i was listening to all the praise Torres was getting following his hattrick the other day and what struck me was the fact that everyone seemed to be calling him the best striker in Europe on current form. Now the fact he is being called the best in Europe is totally understandable and i think the lad is ace, but what had me curious was the fact they said he was the best in EUROPE... why not say the world? i mean, time and time again you hear people say "aye, he is the best defender/midfielder etc in Europe" or "the best team in Europe" but its not like the rest of the World has better players/teams so it just seems like a stupid thing to say? if they said "the best European player" it would make sense, but the best in Europe just doesnt make sense! all the best players/teams are in Europe afterall... anyways, i am semi-drunk and i know the thread is a bit random but i was just wondering whether such assesments annoy you guys too...

to be honest in my old age (20) i would much rather travel the world with some mates! sure, you can visit a few clubs on the way but lads holidays arent all they are cracked up to be in my experience...

same, as a young fan i was lucky enough just to catch Fowler in his prime so he has always stood out for me as a hero of mine. Owen never really reached those heights due to his attitude but Torres has impressed me no-end. A true class act and someone who you know will always have his feet firmly on the ground no matter how much the Media big him up

i dont see the attraction of Ibiza to be honest... Everyone i know who have gone have said its just too expensive and pretty much the same as any other party island (e.g. 50 pound just to get into some clubs etc) the fact that i am a poor tax dodging student may add weight to my negativity however..maybe if i had a bit of money in the bank i would try Ibiza out...

I had a similar experiene when i was around 10 years old! we let the guinea pigs roam the garden (as they had done in the summer months for the past 5 years) but one night one of our guinea pigs never returned to the hutch. After much investigating i found out it was a black and white cat that had taken the little thing the day before. Suffice to say the cat got a good kicking from me and my brother when it came looking for seconds! gave the little punk a broken rib if i remember! (dont worry, i dont hate all cats and this one did sruvive :-) )

too right mate i was saying to a friend last christmas (when he was being linked to Chelsea i think), "Torres would love it at Liverpool, the fanbase is very similar and he seems like a genuine lad who wont be swayed by money".. 14 months on and it appears my views were justified! the lad screams class and i havent admired a striker so much since Fowler in his prime! My favourite player alongside Mascher and Carra right now..

i got kicked out of the popcorn party! they gave us all laser pens and after i realised the popcorn party just consisted of semi-naked men lobbing popcorn in your face i decided i had to blind at least one of them....good times. best memory was the first night. We all went to a bar on the strip and the fella at the bar offered us 3 pints each/3 buckets of some kinda cocktail for around 5 euro's each! we took up the whole bar and got very very wasted!

to be fair mate, when i went with 10 other lads we thought we had hit the jackpot! we stayed at the fiesta Jungla/fiesta sahara (just next door to eachother) and whilst the hotel was actually pretty cool and near all the hot spots, the holiday wasnt AMAZING.. I mean, we had a laugh as a group of mates, but it was a sausage fest! our group usually get lucky with the ladies in England, but it was so hard to find a girl, let alone one who is willing to suck on your balls, out there. Saying that, BCM's is the best club to go to, you pay 20 odd euro's at the entrance and then you get free t-shirts etc and free drinks all night so not all bad! i advise you go to the foam party there too mate, biggest in europe (although you do actually believe you are going to die if you get in the middle of it....). There is also a great show called "pirates" its a bit like a circus when you get inside but you get free drinks all night then all the guides just lead you out and take you to a club... our holiday consisted of sleeping until aroud 3PM, waking up and drinking at the pool/beach, eating at around 11PM then hitting the club at around 2...then the cycle continued...a great holiday, but not an awesome one. also, we did go in the summer of 2005 so whether it has improved on the lady front i dont know, i think we were unlucky because we went when all those reality holiday shows were on when all you saw was ugly guys getting fit birds night in night out..i think every 18 year old lad with blue balls went to magaluf that summer...
