I'd like to challenge you on something but i want to make it clear before anyone jumps on me IM NOT SLAGGING HIM OFF. You say Xabi isn't a Premiership yet he has managed to last 4 years here, how could he of possibly managed to do that if he isn't cut out for this league?

I wasn't slagging anyone off, the chap said Barry is better than Xabi and i asked him to expand on it, nothing more than that really.

I really like Lucas i think he's a smart player knows when to play the ball long or short and can play the penetrative pass, he reminds me of one of my favourite players Xavi Hernandez and i think he could really explode here if he comes out of his shell more on the pitch.

Fair enough but Lucas needs to be given a crack as well, he has the potential to be a very good player but if theres Xabi and Barry directly in front of him how is he supposed to develop his skills or grow?

Im a big fan of Lucas and i think he could be Xabi's eventual successor, however if we sign Barry as well as keeping Xabi we're killing the seed before it grows.

Nah i think Ronaldo going there is more dependent on them selling Robinho, if they get £35m off Chelsea for him they'll be banging down the Mancs door shortly after. They'll probably just get V.der Vaat to come in for Sneijder.

I think you need to check you stats, last time i checked Cesc Fabregas had the highest pass completion and assists over the past 2 seasons.

he's been playing 4-4-2 all pre-season, plus its the best way to fit in Gerrard and Keane without (god forbid) playing them out of position.

I have absolutely no doubt Rafa would sell Xabi to Arsenal if they offered decent money. The way Rafa has been chasing Barry this summer is similar to how a crackhead would look for their next fix, Rafa wants his Barry bad and he wont think twice about ditching Xabi to Arsenal in order to get him.

Well it looks like we're playing a 4-4-2 next season so a Barry or Xabi wont be that critical next seaon due to the fact Masch and Gerrard would most likely be the first choice pairing. However we're very likely to have Kuyt and Benayoun on the wings next season and that area needs strengthen WAY before a "back up midfielder" if we are to challenge for the title.

Based on the fact he was very good them two season, any fellow red on here who watched us play them 2 seasons would vouch for that.
