As a partner in Sportscorp China, which has a U.S. base in Chicago with well-known sports consultant Marc Ganis, Haung became a leading dealmaker with pro sports teams. He's worked deals with the New York Yankees, the Houston Rockets and USA Basketball by creating deals with Chinese sponsors. Huang -- who is a native of Guangzhou, China, and holds degrees from Columbia University, St. John's University and New York University -- has been able to extend sponsor deals investments. According to the Sports Business Journal, Huang and Ganis' Sportscorp has set up at least six American pro sports team owners with lucrative Chinese initial public stock offerings. For example, he helped Houston Rockets owner Les Alexander invest $30 million in a Chinese athletic apparel company several years ago. The investment jumped 42 percent within days of the stock's release. Huang is also has been a director of the Aspen Infrastructure Investment Corporation, a U.S.-based group that Huang has led into investments in expansion of Chinese roads and utilities. It is following the same path of linking money on both sides of the Pacific into growth areas -- be it the Cavs, the Yankees or various budding Chinese corporate giants. Mr. Huang also co-founded QSL Youth Sports Development Foundation, which is the largest sports-related charity fund for underprivileged children in China. Last year, Huang was voted by the BQ magazine and Sina.com as the number one philanthropist celebrity in China." http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/forum/ff-football-forum/90500-hicks-gillett-officially-put-lfc-up-sale-27.html#post2225715
  5. Liverpool Echo - Liverpool FC - News - Premier League dreams of a team of Carraghers Premier League dreams of a team of Carraghers Jul 30 2010 by David Prentice, Liverpool Echo Add a commentRecommend IT’S not just The Kop which dreams of a team of Carraghers. The Premier League’s new 25-man squad rules are also, apparently, aimed at developing more ‘home grown’ players. Our local clubs have had a contrasting record so far in meeting the League’s requirements. From September 1, the day the summer transfer window shuts, every Premier League club must submit a 25-man squad. Only those players can then be used in League matches – and at least eight have to be ‘home grown.’ ie have spent at least three years training with an English or Welsh professional club before the age of 21. The only players not on that list who can then play must be under 21-years-old on January 1, 2010. So far, so fairly straightforward. Except last season Liverpool called upon 30 players in Premier League action. But just six on their books now are home grown. At present that means the Reds will only be allowed to name a 23-man Premier League squad. If he needs back-up, Roy Hodgson can still call on under-21s like Martin Kelly, Dani Pacheco and David Ngog without breaching the terms of the new rules. Or make sure any new signings are ‘home grown.’ The new rules don’t really impact that significantly on Liverpool. A 23-man squad should be more than sufficient for even the rigours of a Premier League season. The rules have been designed to prevent wealthy clubs ‘stockpiling’ talent. And while Liverpool’s decision to swap homegrown Joe Cole for a non-homegrown Yossi Benayoun was a shrewd move – it’s clubs with excess foreign talent who will suffer most. Manchester United may be forced to omit Owen Hargreaves from their Premier League squad. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has already said he won’t have a place for Jonathan Woodgate in his squad, while former Everton favourite Andy Johnson might not get into Fulham’s squad because he is not expected to recover from injury until Christmas – and his club won’t waste a squad place on somebody who can’t play. Manchester City, predictably, have the biggest problems. Get out your violins ... names like Roque Santa Cruz and Craig Bellamy may be left out when their squad is submitted. But Everton have few problems. Last season David Moyes called upon a record-breaking 36 first team players. However seven of them made only one senior appearance in the Europa League dead rubber against BATE Borisov. In the Premier League the Blues used just 28 players, and this season the Blues are comfortably within the Premier League parameters. Tony Hibbert, Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Tim Cahill, Phil Neville, Leon Osman, Jermaine Beckford , James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe are nine ‘home grown’ players. While Tim Howard, Jan Mucha, Iain Turner, Joseph Yobo, Johnny Heitinga, Sylvain Distin, Seamus Coleman, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Steven Pienaar, Mikel Arteta, Marouane Fellaini, Yakubu and Louis Saha still give Everton three places to play with. Jack Rodwell, Shane Duffy, Jose Baxter, Magaye Gueye and Joao Silva are all under-21 and therefore not included. By contrast Liverpool’s home grown players are Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Glen Johnson, Joe Cole, Stephen Darby and Jay Spearing. That leaves Javier Mascherano – for now – Diego Cavalieri, Alberto Aquilani, Daniel Agger, Fernando Torres, Milan Jovanovic, Lucas, Dirk Kuyt, Pepe Reina, Maxi Rodriguez, Martin Skrtel, Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Ryan Babel, with notable under-21 year-olds including David Ngog, Martin Kelly and Jonjo Shelvey. That’s just 23 players – which still should be ample. Barcelona currently have only 22 players on their roster, including Bojan Krkic who wouldn’t have to be registered, and they’re a side you could say possess potential. While Inter won the Champions League with a squad which contained only 25 players who would need to be registered. Even Bayern Munich's squad which made the Champions League final had only 21 players who would need to be registered. The reality is a modern football club, even in this age of squad rotation, simply doesn't need more than 25 senior players. Those that do are simply blocking the progress of their youth players – hence the Premier League’s stance. We may never see a team of Carraghers, but at least it’s a step in the right direction.
  6. I'm using Swedish bet365.com. Works a charm, perfect image, except there's no sound. Perhaps there is some English similarity?
  7. We have a solid CB who's good on the ball, able to move play forward to midfield and we want to move him to DM? Why?
  8. When in God name is the kick off? - In how many minutes This English/Swedish time shit is messing with my head. I don't know if I'm supposed to add or substract one hour?
  9. He called me a women. That hurted. Mostly cause he haven't read the novel Wise Blood.
  10. Apparently our six senior homegrown players are Carragher, Johnson, Darby, Spearing, Gerrard, and Cole. We need two more of them, otherwise we'd have to pick some out of the U-21 homegrown players for squad depth. These are: Hansen, Nemeth, Simon, Pacheco, Brouwer, Bouzanis, Bruna, and Kacacaccaniklic. It's actually easier to count players out. We have to make sure the number of foreign senior player is cropped down to seventeen (17+8=25), if I'm correct. They are Cavalieri, Aquilani, Agger, Torres, Jovanovic, Kyrgiakos, Rodriguez, Kuyt, Babel, Mascherano, Lucas, Reina, Degen, Plessis, Itandje, El Zhar and Skrtel. Already 17 of them (two seems to be leaving aswell). No worries.
  11. Extremly hard this. For starters, who are our homegrown players? Depending on that I'd chose from: Diego Cavalieri José Reina Peter Gulasci Glen Johnson Daniel Agger Sotirios Kyrgiakos Emiliano Insúa Danny Wilson Jamie Carragher Stephen Darby Martin Kelly Martin Skrtel Daniel Ayala Alberto Aquilani Steven Gerrard Joe Cole Maxi Rodríguez Dirk Kuyt Ryan Babel Lucas Leiva Jay Spearing Daniel Pacheco Jonjo Shelvey Fernando Torres Milan Jovanovic David N'Gog Kristian Nemeth That's 28. But then again, if they're more than eight homegrowns in that list you could count some of the younger ones out of the 28. Of course, we'd need replacement for Insua, and atleast one extra layer (covering up for Masch).
  12. Who do you think you are? As long as I've been around here this forum has been clept clean and tidy by those 10.000+ posters. And belive me, they have worked kuythard! If you're pussy is feeling sore it's because you deserved the stick. Twat, cunt, attention whore!
  13. I strongly disagree. Unlike Chelsea, Man Utd (and even Arsenal) our team is still very much unproven. We'd never know what to expect from players like Agger, Johnson, Aquilani, Lucas, Maxi, Cole and even Carra (who's getting a bit old). We don't even know about Roy. And how will Gerrard do this season? Will Johnson, Agger, Torres, Cole, Aquilani and the rest be injured for 33% of the season? What if Reina picks up an injury? Who will come in for Masch, who will replace Aurelio? Will the owners manage to keep their mouths shut? etc, etc...
