  1. They must have got an SOS call
  2. Well this got an airing on the concourse at Sunderland, its a goer.
  3. I was on the SOS coach myself, we just about made the unveiling but was well worth it, anyone on the way up to Newcastle or Boro should stop off, quite a few pubs and all were very welcoming. I know i will do that again.
  4. http://www.thepublican.com/story.asp?se ... code=60839 15 August, 2008 By James Wilmore Drinks firm cancels free pint promotion after fierce backlash from Liverpool football fans Carlsberg has ditched a controversial free pint giveaway promotion with The Sun newspaper, in light of a huge backlash. The free pint vouchers were due to be included in the tabloid over the upcoming bank holiday weekend, but will now not go ahead. The link-up between Carlsberg, sponsors of Liverpool Football club and The Sun, much hated on Merseyside, provoked a furious response from Liverpool fans and pubs, some commenting on The Publican website. Many supporters refuse to buy The Sun because of its highly controversial coverage of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster in which 96 Liverpool fans died. Despite apologising in 2004 for its reporting of the events, fans have never forgiven the newspaper. A statement released by Carlsberg said: “Carlsberg apologises for any offence caused by the planned free pint promotion in The Sun. “Carlsberg is very proud of its long association with Liverpool Football Club and the people of Liverpool over the past 16 years. “In light of the reaction to the promotion, we have decided not to proceed with the activity.” Rick Parry, chief executive of Liverpool Football Club, said: “We are delighted that Carlsberg has responded in the right way so promptly.”
  5. Here is an update from the Liverpool Supporters Union The SOS have been in dialogue with Rick Parry about this since yesterday morning. Rick pointed out that this was obviously done without any consulation with LFC, and no-one at the club knew anything about it until we had pointed it out to them. He agreed it was insenstive and causing great distress, and agreed to contact Carlsberg and ask for an immediate response from them. As late as 10pm last night he was in contact with the union to say that it had been escalated up to Director level in Copenhagen, and he was confident that Carlsberg would react positively. I'd like to thank him for his prompt response to the supporters concerns and his hard work in following it through. Thanks also to everyone out there who emailed Carlsberg and kicked up such a fuss. He gets a lot of stick, does Rick, a lot of the time; but he's done good here. (JMac)
  6. Just repeat and repeat YouTube - Tartan Specials - We'll Be Coming Live at the Classic Grand we'll be coming, we'll be coming, we'll be coming down the road when you here the noise of the billy shankly boys, we'll be coming down the road.
  7. Okay, i know we have those two wavers and it looks like the skyline one is a goer collections shortly, but when you look at the banners we have of Shanks, we have nothing of Bob Pisley really, imagine getting one done of him like this Jock Stein One, his fuckin boss grin, suit on and the 3 European cups in the pic, look at the detail these put into this, i reckon that should be a main objectve from all the liverpool sites if it is too expensive, sorry for starting another banner thread but i really think we need to do this, we have the memorial for Bob this year also, we have had the Paisley family in The Sandon the other month saying how proud they was that we thought of him so highly, so LETS GET THIS DONE Its been proved this can be done by the effort for that massive surfer banner with the mad Liverbird on, so we can do it, what do you reckon then.
  8. The Rossoneri missed out on a place in Europe’s premier club competition after they only finished fifth in Serie A, following a hugely disappointing campaign. Carlo Ancelotti’s men, who have been the dominant side in the competition over the past six years, winning two editions, and reaching a final, semi-final and quarter-final, were gearing themselves to play in the UEFA Cup in 2008/09. However the Diavoli could now be on the verge of being granted a sensational back-door entry back into the Champions League. Bulgarian champions CSKA Sofia could be expelled from the competition due to financial problems, and indeed the Bulgarian FA has demanded that they be thrown out immediately. Therefore a replacement would need to be found, and this would be Milan, as they are highest UEFA ranked team not already in the competition. The Rossoneri would enter at the second preliminary round, and it would mean that Italy would have five teams in the Champions League, the others being Inter, Roma, Juventus and Fiorentina. 10. Not counting chickens and don't forget the trouble when our club done nothing till the last minute when we wa scheduled to play Blackburn Rovers on the 15th well April 14/15, 2009 Quarter Finals Champions League, 2nd leg I really can't see UEFA moving this to a week later, but it needs addressing now, we can't wait till the week before after the 1st leg and start whinging, Liverpool should never play on the 15th of April, NEVER :wallbutt:
  11. From Peter Evo Remember two years ago when our wonderful club decided that the homecoming would be the day after the final when many of those who had actually been out to support the team were still away? I decided that we would have our own party and it would be at the Pumphouse on the Sunday. Hundreds of Reds and just ordinary people turned up with the flags, banners etc. It was a boss day with a real family atmosphere and tip top singy songys. Well let's do it all again eh boys, girls and children! I think Leon Mc has photos of the day two years ago. Let's get ourselves in the mood again for another great day - win or lose in Athens. Let's do it! PARTY ON YOU BIG PARTIERS! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/liamo37/Scan017May302005.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/liamo37/Scan018May302005.jpg
